And I'll say it once, Hulkamania lasted for almost a whole decade before it got stale, from '83-'93 Hogan owned wrestling. Whereas Hollywood lasted for about 3 years before it got old and the over reliance on it ultimately destroyed WCW. Then Hulkamania was revived in the early '00 for however long that lasted. Hulkamania > Hollywood Hogan.

I have never been a fan of Hulk Hogan, but I do not dispute just how influential he was in making pro-wrestling a big deal and how much a success he was in general. As Arn Anderson once said, 'people who know nothing about pro-wrestling know who Hulk Hogan is.'

I was never a fan of Hulk Hogan even though I have a lot of respect for him helping to put the wrestling business on the map but I really enjoyed his Hollywood run as a heel and in my opinion, I still say it was his best work ever because he completely turned the whole world upside down by hooking up with Hall and Nash because no one saw it coming. It was a brilliant and shocking move which not only helped freshen up his character but it kicked off the biggest boom period in wrestling.

You can hate him as an individual if you want (there's plenty of reasons to feel that way), but the fact that some people still question Hulk Hogan's greatness as a performer is ridiculous. The man took the industry to new heights in the 80s as a babyface and he took the industry to new heights in the 90s as a heel. Any Mount Rushmore without Hogan is incomplete.

About the Bash at the Beach incident, I don't know who's telling truth because you have 3 men: Russo, Hogan, and Bischoff, telling 3 different stories that doesn't fit. Both Hogan and Bischoff claimed they knew nothing about the scathing promo, and plans to put the title on Booker. While Russo claimed in his book that Hogan and Bischoff knew about the promo and his plan to have Booker win the title, and they agreed with it. The only thing Russo didn't do was to give Hogan a call the next day, talking about the plans for Hogan. Hogan felt he got screwed by Russo, and then he filed a defamation of character lawsuit. Looking back on it, I always wondered why were there 2 world titles in the same building that day? And why would they have Hogan and Jarret go in the ring when they haven't agreed on a finish? More importantly, there were claimed that many in the back heard that Booker was going to be WCW champion. That shoot incident wouldn't take place. It's either they tried to recreate the Montreal screwjob, or perhaps it's a work turned into a shoot. So who's telling the real truth? The people who knew about it would often recanted their stories, just like who's idea was to turn Hogan heel.

Who know but I would guess it was a work. Hogan is one of if not my favorite ever in the ring. But the man has told more lies than Pinocchio outside of it

I personally always felt hogan should have stopped the leg on Sting. It made more sense for the wwf guy to leg drop the main WCW guy. Savage was a wwf guy to me and he and Joan already beefed so it made sense for it to be sting and to go crow

To me WWE documentaries are just supposed to be for entertainment but as far as the story call accuracy that’s not where you go if you want to get the facts about what happened in history. I would say probably 80% of their documentaries rewrite history to fit a narrative for today. Hell some of their documentaries contradict other WWE made documentaries. There is stuff that they made in the early 2000s that tell different stories from what current documentaries tell
@lancethefilmguy9392

I just find it funny how some people (including Solomonster) expect these documentaries to be accurate. We are talking about a wrestling company lol. Do you know what the word kayfabe means? It doesn't mean truth teller I can tell you that. 😄

solomonster timeline is off about what they said on the show. Eric said he went to Hogan first to turn him heel before the nwo idea was even a thought and Hogan said no to that but did dip into the dark side. so while they didn't go into detail about the DOD storyline Eric was right about the timeline he asked Hogan to turn heel and when Hogan agreed to be the 3rd man in the nwo

In case you are reading this Solomonster, do you really expect these documentaries to tell the truth? I mean a wrestler or wrestling company lying is not really shocking. Same with Disney documentaries, they tend to exaggerated the truth. Do we know what the word Kayfabe means? It doesn't mean truth teller I can tell you that lol. So far I like this series. And the irony of having John Cena narrating this is astoundingly hilarious. Maybe a Heel turn perhaps? 😄

Hell not only did he elevate WWF and WCW, he kinda even though, it ended as a flop, elevated TNA for the tenure he was there from a regular Indy to a damn near a super Indy, until they made it into WCW 2.0/ WWE lite. Also he had the loudest pop of all time the night after Wrestlemania where it was so loud he broke character and started bawling due to the sheer magnitude of the crowd reaction, never seen anything close to that, except the Rock's return in 2011. Basically dude was beyond over for 4 straight decades in 3 different companies and it wasn't for the racist stuff he would still be over and probably have a stint AEW or something right now, but he kinda tarnished his legacy, with take your vitamins and say prayers, but don't forget your Klan hood, brother shit, lmao. It's crazy how two of the biggest stars of that generation or any generation, tbh are blacklisted/canceled by the IWC and most promotions due to one for racist shit and the other for Me too/sexually harassment shit, wow how the mighty have fallen.

@juststatedtheobvious9633

@@lancethefilmguy9392 It's not just that he's racist. Hogan's political games gutted the WWF's uppercard scene (So much for Perfect's Rumble win, Earthquake's monster run, (Warrior will have to settle for a rerun with Rude) and he refused to put Bret Hart over.). Terry left them with the New Generation disaste, instead. In WCW, his creative control sabotaged Savage, Luger, and Sting's title reigns. Back in the WWE, he screwed over Shawn, because he learned nothing. His TNA wank turned them into a bad joke. So yeah, he could elevate a promotion. And yeah, he made wrestling mainstream. But he was poison. If he was into human trafficking on top of it all? He would have been the next Fabulous Moolah.
