I am not sure I am fully understanding the Minimax strategy. It seems to apply only in a zero sum game, since it focusses on minimizing the value received by someone else. Unless a decrease in his value ensures an increase in the value I receive, I don't know why I care about what he receives (unless it also limits his options, so that he cannot diminish my value beyond a certain point, and I thereby guarantee a minimum value for myself).
