Solution for a pickup truck cap window with worn struts 

This isn't a true fix but it works. The struts would have been about $30 each to replace, which isn't bad, but the clip can be had at a autoparts store or hardware store for a dollar or so. The key locking mechanism cost me about $30. To remove the old one you have to drill out the rivets. I installed my with a pop-rivet tool.
