You are amazing. I’ve disassembled my P365 several times, but this exact issue just happened to me and I was going insane trying to find out how to fix it. You are a life saver and more informative than Sig’s own forums.
I struggled trying to put the slide back in until I saw your video. I knew there must be something i'm missing. I put the slide back with the lower in 4 seconds after seeing this. Thank you for that information.
My P365 slide stuck after reassembly and would only move backwards with great effort. The takedown lever and slide release did nothing to help. At first I thought I put the recoil spring guide in backwards, but that wasn’t the case. I sent it to sig on a Monday, got it back on Friday with comments they “installed the recoil spring guide correctly.” Charged me $100. Lol I think the guide rod slipped out of position or a spring coil popped out of place. Great video!
Great video! After spending a lot of time trying to reassemble my P365 after giving it some lube, I was finally able to fix this issue. My Sig is back together and we are both happy. Thanks!
Thank you for this. I've had mine for about four months... cleaned it four times after shooting, no problems. Today I go to give it a little lube, and I can't get slide back on. Your simple, well made video saved the day! Cheers!
@@TekMat Same here. I have a Sig P-220 and a P-226 that are over 30 years old and were made in West German,y and after I bought my P365 I thought it was broken or something because I couldn't get it to lock back during reassembly. Great video, it was clear, concise, and easy. Thanks again.
@@TekMat just got one And can’t get the slide off PLEASE HELP don’t wanna send back a wait... it racks even shoots with out problems JUST CANT GET SLIDE OFF
You know I've had to go on RU-vid quite a few times from G-Shock watches and setting time dates from takedowns on AR-15 and AK-47 this is what I learned how to reassemble my glock another pistols on RU-vid but this is the easiest most simplest video I've seen for an issue that I've had, you get my sub because you made it simple
Thank You.....Pushing up the slide stop up allowed me to move down the lever down......and it worked.......Thank You Great Video.....Short and to the point......Love it It does state these two things in the manual, but unfortunately I rarely read the manual.
I just had the same problem and once I noticed the safety lever up (which I never even was looking for and never saw before this video), I then pushed it down and everything is fine now. Thanks.
Great tip, getting familiar with my first Sig, this helped, thanks. I’m a Glock guy and there are a few similarities but many differences. I’m digging my 365XL
Slide cap is hitting the top of my sear. Cannot put slide back on. This is my 2nd time removing the slide. Slide release moves up and down. Take down lever moves to 7 and 4 o’clock position. Safety hook is down. Any ideas.
I'd add that the spring sometimes gets in the way it seems from being able to move the slide lock upwards when the slide is all the way back. I've had better luck when the portion of the spring that is in the middle, its counter-clockwise turn results in it coming back on itself- if that 'bulging' portion of the spring is facing back up into the slide then there is more room for it in the receiver. If that doesn't make sense, and you're still having trouble, essentially just try rotating that spring.
Great vid. I'm a manual reader before I touch anything. Unfortunately I thought the manual ended after disassembly - DOH. Rack slide all the way back, engage the slide catch lever, and voilla! Takedown lever up!!
Not sure if you can answer this question, but, first of all thank you for the first video. Second, I reassemble my P3 65 without the recoil string inside of it. Now it's stuck I can't get it off and I don't know what to do. Stupid beginners mistake. And I am a beginner. I've only had a gun for about a year. Any thoughts?
Great video. I'm not sure if you can help me out with this issue I'm having. I took the FCU out of the stock grip and put it into one from Icarus precision. The manual safety can be engaged and disengaged but it doesn't lock the slide or the trigger when it's in the locked position. The slide works fine, no issues putting it on or taking it off. Any ideas about what may be going on?
I still have issues sometimes. I am sure the lever is in the correct position, and the trigger is cocked. Something still "catches", but it not 100% of the time. Thoughts?
Thanks man, I was a little worried putting this thing back together. And I I've done it several things with no problem. I guess I moved the lever while cleaning it.
I’ve taken mine apart several times so far but after shooting today after start to reassemble it, it’s sticking and won’t come back off either. The lever is lowered all the way down but it won’t go passed far enough for the slide catch to engage. Any other tips?
Does the barrel on the x macro supposed to drop down while racking the slide? I own several other pistols and I've never noticed this before it's quite extreme.
Pretty late comment, but I’m having both issues with my brand new 365XL that I got yesterday from the FFL. Is this something I need to contact SIG about?
Hi I'm "new" to guns. Only training was during.y Navy boot camp. I have down the very basics. I purchased a P365 SAS which has the slide release receded. You can slingshot the slide on a full mag or without the mag, but it won't let me close the slide with an empty mag inserted. I have been reading on some forums and seems that I'm not the only one. Any suggestions
When I put the gun back together and pull the trigger it hits a wall and doesn't go through is it supposed to do that until I fire a live round or is there something really wrong?
You solved my idiot self frustration with this new gun. Thanks seriously 100%. I'm used to my P229e, got a 365 for Christmas as a smaller carry gun. I'm trying to love this polymer POS😁. As compared to my p229e
I offered to help a friend out with one of the P365 SAS pistols. He some how got the slide back on without the recoil spring and it is a screw versus lever. I am faced with a real Chinese puzzle because the barrel is in the wrong position and i can't get it for enough back to move to slide stop up and release the take down screw. What a night mare. Any suggestions?
If you have the SAS model with a screw instead of take down lever, you have to essentially rack the slide all the way back before the screw and the lock will return to the correct position.
Note that you don't even need to pull the trigger for the safety lever to move upward, as there is nothing to prevent the safety lever from freely rotating. As a step in the reassembly procedure I now look to make sure that the safety lever is in the down position before reinstalling the slide.
I want to know why, when I remove the FCU, my safety bar seems to pop out of place. When I’m trying to seat it back under the takedown lever, it takes many tries before it’s in the right spot and the safety lever will move freely. Any ideas? I’m wondering if my safety bar (the one that goes from inside the notch on the takedown lever back to the seat) needs to be replaced.
hey man I was cleaning my sig 365 sas, I think I put return spring on backwards. now it's jammed with the barrel sticking out about 1/4 of an inch and I can't get slid back off at all
Bro, thank you! was trying to refresh myself on how to use mine and disassemble it cause it’s been a while and mine got stuck after the first disassembly lmao, so thanks!
Mine is stuck on the step where the slide is back on, but it doesn't let me put the lever back to the normal horizontal position. To make matters worse it doesn't let me remove the slide to start over again either. I also can't insert any magazine if that helps determine what went wrong during reassembly.
Recently purchased a new sig 365. Prior to firing the pistol I attempted to clean the firearm. After locking the slide to the read I had a very difficult time getting the take down leaver to push down. Very difficult. Any suggestions.
Did it get easier after some rounds through it? One, I’d say pull the slide rearward to see if it alleviates some tension against the takedown lever allowing you to get it down. Or two, put some rounds through it and see if things loosen up. I know this comment is a year old but I’m also dealing with this
