multiply EVERY element by 15 collect all like elements. x on right side number on left etc 10x+25=60+3x 7x=35 x=35/7 = 5 there's tests and there's real world work... Real world work is best done systematically rather than looking for short cuts.

Multiply the equation by 15. Easier way to say it-and do.

1) Cross multiply 2) solve for x (you seem to call these sub-steps…. Straight math without LCD.

Cross multiplying does not work. Not unless you make the right side (20 + x) / 5. Then it works.

@@go_gazelleNot a step just a different form of the RHS. Exactly what I did, restated the problem as 10x + 25 = 60+3x by cross multiplication and solve for 7x = 35 giving x = 5. Did it all in my head and then wrote it down to confirm.

@@BlackhawkPilothow did you restated the problem into 10x + 25 = 60+3x Without using the LCD? I tried cross multiplication but it always turns out that the right side of the equation is 12+3x. How did you do it? I'm interested to know.

@@je-sonmarioalpuerto2085 (2x+5)/3 = 4 + x/5 = (20+x)/5 The restating of the RHS is the biggest mistake, i.e realizing 4 = 20/5. Costs multiply with 5 and three give 10X+25 = 60+3x Subtract 3x and 25 from both sides and 7X = 35 Divide both sides by 7 and x = 5
