STEP 1 worked for me ...👍😎😘 Thank you bro. Had been struggling for weeks to start. The screen was blank and only CAPS LOCK, SCROLL keys were blinking. I removed the battery, plugged in the power cable. Held the power button pressed for 2 minutes. VOILA... started up. Hugs.

Life saver. I just put fresh thermal compound on my processor and gpu (HP ENVY 17) and installed a second hard drive while I was at it, when I tried powering on i just got a blank screen with the caps lock key flashing at me, I honestly thought I'd written off the laptop with me faffing around with the processor. Found this video, I removed the ram cards, gave them a bit of a clean and blew out the ram ports, installed them one at a time with a power up in between and like magic it's back to working normally. Great video pointed me in the right direction so thank you. Big sigh of relief lol.

Thanks- I spilt like an entire cup of coffee over my keyboard (goodness knows why it hasn’t completely messed up my laptop) and my battery has been buggered for ages- it still works when I plug the charger cable into the laptop. When I put my battery in my laptop would not turn on however when I took it out it works like normal. Once again, thanks

Nice video...with over 600 comments i am bit surprised that "no one" had to replace their motherboard, a flat CMOS battery resulting inthe need to reistall BIOS drivers, this also throws a 5 blink caps+scroll lock "main board failure". Peace.

Wear a rubber bracelet and use an antistatic cloth; or rub connector strips with a very small amount of 91-99% isopropyl alcohol using a Qtip. Wait for it to dry before reinstalling. It evaporates quickly.) 4:32 Fourth method Try swapping ram stick slots or using one stick at a time to see if one has failed.

I tried like literally close to 100 times with every variation, but finally unplugged it and left it on with fan running until battery died... took battery out, discharged remaining power by holding power but for 15 seconds, plugged it back in (but kept battery off), turned it on, and voila! It worked! Worth noting that it’s Christmas and I prayed to God for the first time that it would work on this specific try... wasn’t expecting anything... but, it happened! Doubt that part ends up in a fix-it guide, but definitely an interesting coincidence I must say. :) Merry Christmas and Good Luck!!! :) :) :)

Thanks bro, After trying all this methods my bios does not scan the operation system then i worried about my data because i didn't take backup.Then I removed my hardisk then i clean it and after cleaning i reinsert hardisk.First time its does not work but second time it worked for me, My bios successfully scan os and now my laptop is fixed.

Turns out my ram pcu on the motherboard was loose. After retightening it, I was able to boot it up again

If nothing works, just remove the rams. Clean them and hold any metal / Rod in your hands for few seconds and instantly hold the rams within your fingers. Repeat this 2,3 times until your RAMs get completely discharged and put one ram back and turn on your laptop. In most cases, it definitely works. Now Shutdown the laptop and install the second ram. Please share your feedback :)

The methods i use are simple enough yet it will less likely to work. The effectiveness of the method i used are decreasing as i do it more. Which consist in smacking the screen and it'll most likely be fixed after that, but i kept doing it repeatedly and as it broke, the effectiveness aren't the same as in the past.

I found out that one ram is damaged!!, by putting single ram in both slots one by one. And one ram is working in both slots.. SO ONE RAM HAS A DEFECT..

Guys I have a problem... I was carrying my laptop around when I was clumsy and the hinges broke and the screen when backward. I tried turning it on and the Computer turned on but the screen remained black. I took of the back and front of the screen and it was fine. But I think the wiring that connects the screen and the computer is messed up, and I don't know how to fix it. Please help ): It got broken in April of the worst year 2020

I have gone through three laptops with about all this issues at one point or another. One only has one memory stick & the battery was switched from an older one & the keys don't work well as is the pad too. It is about that time of the year to plan for those sales. Much less buying a whole laptop than the components.

My HP ELlte book 840 G3 had the whole keyboard flashing and black screen. It has two RAM memory slots of 8GB each, TOTAL MEMORY OF 16GB. It worked for me removing the 2nd RAM memory! Windows Login screen appeared! Power down and cleaned the RAM contacts of both memories and put them back on. And it is working fine since doing this memory contacts cleaning. Maybe the memory was loose or dirty and the BIOS could not complete the laptop boot up?

I have hp folio 9470m. When i plug the charger it shows the plugged option on battery for 1 sec and then removed, it happens 2 or 3 times and after that, the plugged option is not showing on battery and laptop is not charging. I thought their is some problem in charger, so i bought a brand new folio charger for 5 mins it charged the battery from 10% to 15% and after 5 mins of charging the plugged option from battery removed again, when i replug the charger again the same case it shows 2 or 3 times and now the brand new charger is also not working. Please help. I will answer any question regarding this problem.
