[Solved] Samsung Gear S3 not charging correctly.

I think I may have solved it. The following is with the Gear S3 turned off. When the battery is allowed to discharge all the way (you forget to put it on the charger for a few days), when you then try to charge it, the BMU changes the 100% mark to around 3-10% of the batteries original capacity. The charger charges back to the fake100%, and the Gear S3 shows the fake 100%, although the S3 is really only at 3-10%. This explains why the S3 quickly goes dead after a "full" charge. My solution was a combination of recharging several times (with the S3 still turned off) by removing the S3 from the (magnetic) Samsung charging cradle briefly - just long enough for the cradle LED light to turn off - then replacing it into the cradle. Eventually I got it to go from 97% initial charge state to 93% initial charge state (this "initial charge state" is the value displayed right after placing the S3 into the charging cradle). What this is telling me is the BMU is loading the battery to determine it's capacity and then subtracting that capacity from 100% to get the new initial charge state. The next thing I did was place the cradled S3 in front of a portable ceramic floor heater, about 8 inches from the front. This required me to move the charger from the outlet in the kitchen to the outlet near the heater (mentioning this because it resulted in removing power briefly from the charger, which may or may not have had an effect on the outcome). About an hour after charging in front of the heater (and carefully adjusting the distance to prevent it getting too hot - it never got too hot to the touch), I noticed a overheat indicator on the S3 display (red triangle with a thermometer symbol). I turned the heater off and waited 15 minutes or so. The indicator was still there. I removed the S3 from the charging cradle for a couple of minutes (good time to take a smart phone and photograph the back of the watch for the model # - SM-R760 - and serial # if you haven't done that already) then replaced it onto the charger. THE INITIAL CHARGE STATE NOW SAYS 12%!!!! Yay, this now means the BMU detects 88% of the original battery's capacity. Since I'm writing this in the moment, you'll have to wait a few hours while it charges to the new fake 100%, at which point, I will remove the S3 from the cradle, wait for the cradle light to go out, then place it back into the cradle. If the S3 initial charge state then says 88%, then I expect it to charge to the REAL battery capacity. Give me an hour and I will report back whether this solution worked or not. Side note: The heater part of the solution is related to charging current, since heat decreases resistance, thus allowing charging current to go up. Some dead batteries "wake up" to a new life with a jolt of charging current. I'm guessing this is what's happening here.

I suffer the same problem with mine. It wont charge over 70 and turns on and off. I cant even use it. Its so frustrating i wish someone had a solution for this problem.

Mine has an interesting problem. Any help will be appreciated. I placed it on to the charging dock, it breifely showed the amount of charge left and immediately went off charge. However the dock was still lit up red, thinking it was charging. I turned the watch on and off a couple times, and had no luck. However this is the weird part, the watch charges completely fine when its powered off. I tried charging it on both, the charging dock and through reverse wireless charging from my phone, but acheived the same result every time. Its currently on the dock charging, I'm gonna let it chagre a little bit and try to reboot it through recovery menu. If not, I would have to factory reset it. I will come back to this comment in a while to edit what I have done and what worked and what didn't, just in case if someone else had the same encounter as I am having.

My is not turning on when I put it charge it start blinking and not turning on 😢

I am having issue with my galaxy watch, its not charging and I have been trying to charge it for the past 2 days and trying to reboot but still it shows 0 percent. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Mine does the same thing, but my red light doesn't come on on the charger. Watch won't come on like the battery is completely dead, but when I put it on the charger it'll say the 73% battery. Then when you leave it on the charger for a while it charges to 100% And then it'll get down to like 42% and cut off, if I'm not mistaken that's what mine does.

Afternoon. When I connect My gear s3 charger a red light flashes, then green and then amber and goes out and does not charge. Any suggestions as to what to do?

My battery was replaced today now it won't charge it saying that the battery needs to warm up

The issue with mine is very strange, before I changed the battery to a brand new samsung OEM one. The it would not charge at all, would show its charging with 0 percent and then screen with blink and then keep doing that on a loop. After changing the battery, now the watch is charging, but again now an new problem came out. It charges and stops, and then the red light blinks. I took it off the charger tried another charger to complete the charge, but one charger on any one of them is not charging to 100% my guess is, probably a heat issue. This watch is so nice but has a very stupid design flaw.

This is exactly what mine is doing, but mine will charge fully, but when it drains down to 45%, then it'll shut off. It won't drain all the way down, it's really pissing me off!

If the battery is "completely" dead, then what’s powering the boot menu?
