Merry Christmas Scott and everyone else. That must have been so frustrating having all the right answers but never in at the same time. But learning a new word is cool so I'll call that a win!

The last column word is a great example to why I feel dumb doing any kind of Wordle game

I was also tripped up by EIDER when I solved this one. I knew it was *probably* a word since "ejder" is a bird in Swedish and it's the sort of old word that's likely similar in English, and English *would* swap that J for an I. I was only saved from having to guess an E there by being able to use a W on some already greened square while completing another word.

I knew almost all the words but didn't check how many guesses I had left and guessed something instead of going with something I knew and lost! :(

Btw, EDGER is not on the original answer list. Neither is EIDER.

That's true, but the weekly Squardle boards has had to expand the list of possible answers. Otherwise there aren't enough boards to run it even as a weekly puzzle. Daily and Freeplay Squardle still uses the original list of words that Wordle started with.

@@furbyfubar I knew that but I had forgotten it. All the expanded list words in the Weekly Squardle have been totally natural so far (I have probably missed the fact for most of them). EDGER just happens to be the answer list omission that irks me the most. For many other members of this community, that honor probably goes to MISTY.

If you wait a bit longer a speed solve of Squardle is more likely to happen given that I'm currently working on a speedrun mode for Squardle. Well, I'm currently celebrating Christmas up north, but I have a prototype coded up that should be ready for testing soon.
