We're playing Shadows of Doubt, a new detective sim game that puts you in the shoes of a retired police officer turned vigilante. In a procedurally generated city with NPCs that have their own routines, workplaces, and homes - murder is on the rise, and it is up to us to solve the case and bring justice to the city.

As soon as I got this game three days ago, this was exactly what my plan was, and I’ll be damned if you ain’t already smashing it out of the park. Could be stylisticly more Noir, but you’ve nailed it otherwise.

A lot of people have mixed feelings towards this game, due to how buggy the procedural-generation can be, but I personally am looking forward to more people doing videos like this, videos with the nostalgic air of the film noir days.

Had the game a week and i just completed my first muder case that turned into a double. My crime board would have made Charlie Day blush😅 This game is so badass. Love the channel

The gag at 2:43 made me giggle. Great video overall, I hope we see more crime solving from you in the future! Shadows of Doubt is super in depth and flexible in how you approach getting info. For example, you can track down a suspect’s apartment address with nothing but a phone number if you 0. Call the number and don’t get a response or any useful intel 1. Break into the phone box thing in the basement of an apartment building, which tracks incoming/outgoing calls (usually costs 5 lockpicks to break in) 2. check the incoming calls, if you see the call you made then now you have their exact room number out of the dozens in the building!

Thanks for watching the vid! Haha, yeah I definitely wanna play some more. In the video, I was playing the story but I just started a new save in Sandbox mode and it's crazy. I didn't realize you could save up money and buy your own apartment and stock it. Pretty cool. It's like a detective game with a bit of a life sim in there. Plus the world just feels so alive with all the NPCs having their own jobs and homes and such. Definitely gonna keep playing it for sure.

Thank you! This was the first video I did in this sorta narration-story style that I'm currently going for. People loved it, so I've stuck to it since. I am stuck on my first murder. No leads to the victim. All I got is one fingerprint that don't match anyone I've talked to so far. Game is awesome. But real talk, I love your videos on it. Its like I'm watching a movie. Keep it up!

Awesome game, great vid. I played this case four times so far and never manage to actually arrest Diaz. I couldn't believe it when you just knocked and nobody answered, I kept sneaking in and getting mauled by Diaz and another resident. I'll need to work on my strategy, it seems.

Yeah the game is still in Early Access and as far as I know it's all made by one guy, so I'm still super impressed either way. I've had weird bugs too like I'll stand up from a bench and suddenly I'm in someone's apartment lmao..

for some reason, my pinned leads, contacts, notes, etc are not updating their info when I discover new stuff. for example, I pin the Kiara but when I check the directory and find out her number and residence, it doesn't update the Kiara pin I have already. I have to unpin Kiara and repin her to get the updated info.

This is the base map in the tutorial called Charlotte Heights. You just have to play the story/tutorial map.

That wasn't detective work, that was luck; because where is the perpetrator's motive? and then there was a second victim, there's nothing about it in the video
