Amen-Ra broke me, No-brainer confused me at first because of 'ban' Renoir, making me think that 'ban' was the 'no' component. A joy to watch a pro.

Another superb solve. I was taken aback by the snitch rating, I also like to guess the rating and like you I was confident of it being in the 60s.

THank you Ruddigore, it's possible some people biffed AMUN-RA or AMON-RA for 1a which would bump up the SNITCH

How many anagram indicators are there?! I'm pretty new to cryptics and struggle to recognise certain hints and don't understand why 'pants' mean anagram.

There are lots of anagram indicators. Any adjective or verb indicating disorder or change is available. PANTS is a slang adjective meaning rubbish so it can be used as an anagram indicator
