For Cammy players, if you see him jump, use air grab. It's way easier, it's consistent and it also eats his input. Using DP also works, but air grab does more damage for lower risk of misinput (which, although many will not admit, is a real issue when you're under pressure). 2MK will not reach if M.Bison spaces his scissor kicks correctly. Use 5HK or just do nothing. Feel free to use your Hooligan setups on him. He can't do anything to you unless he uses super. Instant Cannon Strike is great against him. His anti-airs are slow and you can also hit him out of scissor kick if you get lucky. Your overall gameplan should look something like that: air grab him if he jumps, tolerate his ground approach until he makes a mistake, capitalise on that mistake and then just run your offense as much as you want. Worst thing you can do is try to play honest footsies with him. Use as many knowledge/ reaction checks as possible, skip neutral with H spin knuckle / drive rush whenever you can. Basically do the opposite of what you should do against a primal Ken player
I main lily theres no way to punish scissors unless he messes up at point blank range i thought id be able to grab but thats gief range plus he can punish wind stock on reaction from full screen is crazy might be her worst matchup
She can punish scissor with st.LP mostly better than many of the roster. At least the closer range one. Record Bison doing st.LP three times and then cancel to LK scissors and she still get a st.LP punish on him.
St.lp is 5F, so you can Drive Rsh cancel... However Lili is having one of the best counter of the game... LP Mexican Typhoon is 5F Startup you genius... OD Mexican Typhoon is 5F also and do a whooping 3350 Damage, so please stop crying... It just took me 2 minutes to discover in the training mode... man, you guys are cry babies...
After many hours of training and hella matches bison lily matchup is not bad at all dont get me wrong bison still got some cheap stuff but its definitely not as bad as i said i didnt realize all the things i can punish till i tried him out myself scissors can be punish its a sad punish if you have no wind stock your forced to use meter tho thats the only bad part
They made Bison too much fun to play, too easy to win with, and too frustrating to lose against. It makes people WANT to play him, but it also punishes anyone who doesn't. I have fought 130 Bisons vs 233 Akumas. Akuma's been out 5 weeks? Bison only 1.
Kawano has a video dedicated to counter Bison ベガ shadow rise. Summary what to do 1) Air to air react as soon as shadow rise start up (lose to OD shadow rise => OD devil reverse) 2) Use normal to anti air when Bison do regular shadow rise (lose to shadow rise => delay head stomp) 3) Parry the head stomp, then neutral jump air to air (lose to shadow rise => do nothing / Bison escape by retreating in air after head stomp) 4) Parry the head stomp, then drive rush to catch Bison retreating in air after head stomp (lose to shadow rise => do nothing)
If you use it correctly, you can beat pretty much anything. Canceling Shadow Rise instantly with hands can beat any attempts if you space it correctly. I am doing it all the time. It is pretty safe and annoying. Parrying the Head Stomp is hard and the fall can be empty so if you parry the second hit, you can get Punished counter with a throw.
Shadow rise is so stupid lol. The fact that there’s this much nuance and counterplay on *both* sides for a move that Bison can *just do* with no context in neutral is ridiculous. I feel like Bison is just that character for people who have absolutely no ability / desire to play more traditional SF neutral. Just throw out scissors, headstomp, drive rush, etc. Hes basically playing DNF duel against street fighter characters. I honestly can’t stand the way the character plays, regardless of how strong or weak he is.
@@evalangley3985 Yes, the shadow rise => instant devil reverse is the only option that has no counterplay unless opponent read with an early dp, which is not possible. That's like an auto mixup that Bison can do to skip neutral with no effort + no risk (though it require spacing and you can't do it when you are the one at corner)
Shadow rise cancelled immediately into devil reverse literally beats anything and everything... Anti-airing is not an option you just have to let him get a free mix up every time. The bisons I can't beat literally don't play neutral, just sit crouched across screen and spam shadow rise into jab/grab with psycho crusher to punish any jump I do trying air to air to pre-emptively hit him before he cancels shadow rise... And obviously I can't fireball because he's sitting across screen just waiting to psycho my a...
I think the best way to beat him is to not let him start up. I’m no pro player, but the one thing Bison lacks is a wake up DP. Work to get a knockdown, drive rush and mix him up. Drive rush throw, drive rush overhead, drive rush low, drive rush neutral jump, drive rush into a standing attack. Stay on him, make him guess and don’t let him start up his offense. If you do he has tons of tools to get to you and it’s not gonna end good for you.
Quite a few matches are exactly this tbh it's probably worth trying to save drive and use reversal to stop any attempts to get in, not use too much on combos but try to keep ending combos with setups to continue pressure, and only spending meter if you know you can get the kill.
Some Honda specific advice. Both scissors and p.crusher are airborne moves, if you do sumo headbutt *after* they start, you'll beat both cleanly. Up until a mine lands, damage output is heavily in your favor. Bison players know that, so they'll make landing that mine priority number one. Play defensive at first. Not only does it make reacting to stuff easier, but it will also let you know how patient, or impatient, the Bison player is. If it's the latter focus on checking DR and headbutting scissors. You don't even have to be perfect. In my humble plat 4 world, many Bison players will get frustrated even if you only counter them 3 out of 5 times. Oh, and Bison is still a charge character at the end of the day. And anyone who spends most of the time holding down/back is asking for an Oicho throw.
Air throws are very good at dealing with Bison's aerial shenanigans if your character is blessed enough to have one. If you're cornered jumping back after blocking a knee press very often results in a punish on Bison if he throws another one trying to wear down your drive.
Capcom has made this game unplayable, licking old people’s ass again and adding a „mighty boss shit character” I’m tired of them, leaving it soon enough. Even it was a good game on the start they have been able to make it shit it’s unbelieveable.

After I got salty online I did some labbing. Been trying to interrupt scissor kicks with Ryu stand mk, and I realized the scissor kicks aren't so bad on the drive gauge so at least there is that. Anti airing as a shoto can be baited but he loses some option
Scissor Kick is not even an issue for Ryu because of 5f slk. If Bison mispaces or cancels buttons into it then it's very easy to punish on block. It's the other characters that don't have a 5f button like this where it becomes much harder.
At the end, the only good strategy against Bison is to not let him do anything to you. It sounds like a joke, but it's the same with Akuma. The problem is that Bison is even more ridiculous in this game. Just don'tlet him get started. Think Bison ST. Same thing.
Thank you for being proactive about this, instead of jumping on the nerf and hate bandwagon. People forgot that they need to play the game to become better at dealing with the characters.
@sawyersimpkins9428 his HP being plus on block and really hard to DI on reaction as well as the knee are ridiculous too. If they had more recovery so you don't have to guess DI and if his scissor kicks left him close enough to punish he'd be more reasonable.

Nice video Mura, but I think you could / should go into how to counter Scissor Kicks a bit more as that is THE move that is killing people right now. Specifically when your opponent is using it over and over. Things you can do: - Neutral Jump - Perfect Parry (very risky imo) - Drive Impact (have to do it very early) - EX move - Pre-emptive far-reaching move (e.g. Ken stand RH) - Use a Drive Reversal as you are blocking the Scissors There's no great answer and as you say in the video, blocking is usually the best option, but you can't always do it. Would love to see what tech you and others have to deal with it!
@@thegoldengunman The issue is that i don't believe you can parry itnon reaction since light is 13F and that's just not reactable at all so it's gonna be a wish parry. The other options like far reaching move or DI are also just wishful answers tbh

@@thegoldengunman That's the ultimate problem. Unless you can predict the scissor kick will come you cannot do anything once you block the move. That's the problem, the move is TOO SAFE in Bison's favour which give him the unforgivable Low Risk = High Reward advantage which shouldn't be the case for any fighter in any fighting game unless you are going up against the boss. Last time I've checked, Bison is not a boss character in SF6, he is part of the fighting roster so he should be balanced with that in mind. Ryu is a great example... All of his special move enders can be heavily punished: his hadouken, Shoryuken, Tatsu, Slice Blade and even his hashogeki. Even all of his supers have serious resistions while other character have major luxuries (e.g. Ryu's Lvl2 is incredibly short range and a tiny invincibility window, but Deejay, Luke, Marisa, Cammy, Ed, and many others have a long range super with huge invincibility windows which is messed up) that give them serious advantages. So wHy should Bison has the luxury of having a special and a super that are too safe in his favour? That isn't good and going too much into the MvC realm. So yeah... All those that saying Bison needs to be nerfed, it's in mind of the scissor kick. I hope Capcom do something about it for it shouldn't be this safe in consideration of other fighters. As for Devil's Reverse. Yeah, i think some good tips would be interesting for that one. However, that move is basically the same as SF2's Devil Reverse therefore if you know how to handle it in SF2 then you'll know how to deal with it in SF6.

Hey Mura , you definitely can land meaty hits after light and medium mine .. you just need to cancel your dr into them early and let Bison slide a bit (I tested with back hk , s.hk and st.mp). I don’t know if this is what you meant by “over committing” though. It’s still a useful guide either way , thanks for the upload
Its only on the quick rise, if the opponent does a back recovery the distance is too much. You can get the hit but you likely won't get a follow combo because there will be too much distance. It is in the video
After getting him to master, I can safely say that he is not as strong as I though he would be. Not having a wakeup reversal and a decent Level 1 / Level 2, is really hurting him. The only way to win is to go fish with Drive Rush Cancel with a blockstring of medium punches.
Bison is definitely op, i can't deal with with using Akuma, online is all about crouched back fishing for lows and drive rush, plus his jab almost always win on wake up, during missed combos and even at the end of his combos
@@evalangley3985 definitely I could be better, I just bought the game, however it's clear to me that I struggle fighting against way less skilled players than me for the following reasons: you can't block the slide on reaction, he can jab through anything to interrupt your combos, whenever you approach him, whenever you bock his attacks, because of this you gonna eat a lot of throws cause it's a mix between fishing with jabs and throws. I'm ok losing against skilled players but I can feel people can beat you with no hassle with Bison, and yes I agree Akuma is super strong but I feel I have to put way more effort to beat a medium/low level Bison
I’ve been waiting for Bison to return but I’m getting my ass whooped. I’m stuck in diamond 2 with him. I don’t know if I’m playing to honest or people are playing weird but it’s so hard for me to climb. 🤦♂️
Bison is not that great at high level, but he is a scrub killer like Honda. You need to abuse that Drive Rush cr.mp and the mp block string to fish for a hit confirm. If you cannot do that, you will not get far with him.
What everyone fails to realize is that a lot of his moves are super slow. He had to do a lot of predicting. He barely has a dp. And his drive impact is slow. You gotta stop his momentum
From my testing this only work on quick recovery, on back recovery the separation makes it so that you have to delay the B.HK to reach and then you are getting a trade. If you do get that trade timing, your B.HK will whiff if they don't do anything. There is also zero reason not to back recover here, so i don't think the situation is great for him
MAYBE theres some recency bias here, but im feeling like Bison is the most broken character out of the gate we've gotten yet. I bought him and was gonna start playing him but now its the same problem as i had with Akuma, im already bored of him from having to play against him so much. But ive never said a character needed nerfed so fast in a long time lol. As a Cammy main, he's really pissing me off
I think Akuma is still a little more annoying to deal with. But Bison needs some serious damage scaling. His 8k damage combos are not technical enough in my opinion to be considered "earned."

Canceling Scisor in Level 3 is extremely hard because you need to cancel on the first hit. However doing a Drive Impact against Scisor Knees is a really bad idea, and it is coming from someone doing Drive Impact of neutral Special Moves all the time.
I dont think bison will be top tier. For someone who wants to play him till the other dlcs get released i am starting to see his bad mus. His stomp and devils reverse is weak to someone who can do air to air. Random DI works against scissors. Neutral jump works as well.
