Solving the Thread Storage Dilemma!

I am not gonna lie, I have massive amounts of thread. Writing a book about thread, working with thread companies, and my own passion for this critical tool has resulted in overflowing mounds of the wonderous fibers.
I consider thread the unsung hero of the sewing world. Fabric gets all the glory but without thread we would only have a pile of possibilities.
I sort my thread by fiber content first, then size, than color families.
I am still organizing my new studio but since we are on the theme of storage and organization I thought I would add a little tour of my space just for fun.

I am hoping to do some minor re-arranging this fall and will post an update. But things in the studio move slow these days....toddler duty comes first. 🙂

Love your fabric wall. Mine is in bins but I’m not sewing as much lately. Obsessing with something else. But seeing the fabrics makes me want to dive into mine and quilt something. Thank you for sharing

I do have a wee bit of thread.😂😂 More than the average person. I even gave away a bunch before I moved.

Question or idea for your fabric bins: why don't you measure the bins, cut out a cardboard with that measurement and fold the fabric with cardboard, repeat with each fabric then layer the fabric in your bins. It makes easy viewing and keeps the fabric orderly. 🤔☺️🦋❣

I love the look of super organization but I know I would never re-wrap the fabrics on any card and many of my fabrics are strange cuts and sizes. I seem to thrive in messy chaos. LOL

@@Textileevolution I totally understand. We helped my sister organize her fabrics and removed the cardboard after each folding. The smaller scapes were then folded and placed in a bin similar to your thread bins. I wish I had a craft room as big as yours!☺️🦋❣
