I think it’s probably because he’s a demon he’s not familiar with human illnesses purely because he doesn’t have to be, so when he learns ciel has athsma it’s unfamiliar to him which is why he said he would read up on the topic that’s all I can imagine it being tbh 😭

He could have once been human but also could have been born demon, we don’t really get much insight to his background, but even if it was the case where he was human originally he could have possibly forgot all about human illnesses depending on how long he’s been demon, we don’t know anything of his age he could be hundreds to thousands of years old! 😭
In the flashback of how Sebastian and Ciel met, Ciel actually had to train him. Sebastian didn't know when bath water was too hot or when he was scrubbing too hard hard. He couldn't even prepare tea properly because his sense of taste is different than a humans.
