This was my first time eating Somali food and Now I can’t stop!! What should they cook in the next round?

Absolutely loved Safia!! She was so sweet and I love that she was woman enough to admit that Khadras dish was better than hers which is very rare. Hope to see more of her!

My girl really said “I used chicken stock from a roast I made 4 days ago” so her bariis came with no chicken coz she ate the chicken 4 days ago 😂😂😂 khadra reaction was just honest!

Everything about Safia is marvelous. So sweet and lovely. Love the way she switched between the British accent and what sounded like perfect Arbic to me. So smooth and musical. She even mentioned her mother with so much affection. The sun must be so jealous of her light. 💛🧡💝

Honestly African rice dishes all look SO GOOD. Jollof rice and now this, I genuinely feel like South Asian people and African peeps would get along so well, considering how similar our taste buds are.

In college I met 2 Somali sisters. Every weekend, we got to together and feasted on my Rwandan food or Somali food. I had no idea what it was called then, but bariis Iskukaris was my favourite. We just had super fun eating it. And yes, with bananas always. Now, if I don’t get a banana in my savoury rice, I just don’t care for it! Greetings from Canada my darlings. You’ve brought back such fond memories.

I loved Safia's comments towards the other dishes, Ma Sha Allah.

These ladies all gave off pleasant vibes from each part of the spectrum. Khadra, is nice yet honest on the confident competitive side, Safia is the nice comforting breezy vibe while Sarah is your nice analytical reserved vibe. More Somalian dishes! That was educational for me and I require more Somalian cuisine knowledge! I learnt 🙋🏽‍♂️🤓

As a Sudanese and East African ! I kinda find Somali food very unique, most of East African nations don’t have famous or traditional everyday rice dishes .

Safia is a sweetheart MashaAllah! Loved how fair and kind she was, and her bariis looks delicious! My mom makes hers with veggies as well so I liked that she put it in. Khadra's iskukaris doesn't seem authentic to me though, if you are cooking the rice separately and then adding it back in, then is it really iskukaris? The whole point of iskukaris is that it is a one pot meal. Also, I thought Khadra was being a bit dramatic spitting out Sarah's food but she was entertaining to watch! However, I would also love a recipe, if Safia says its good, I believe her! Khadra please post the recipe! And Ayan I think if you had added pieces of meat or chicken it would have been better but I enjoyed your commentary as well! All in all, really enjoyed watching this and now I want some bariis iskukaris 😂

im american and i have friends that are somali. i have tried this dish it was so good and i just love the somali people they are so sweet and nice people. I wish they would make Malawah.
