Somali Muslims are so humble. I met one person in London. We had iftar together. One thing really surprised me that he was not keen to eat too much food during iftar like we Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indians do. He had date, milk, rice yogurt and then went to pray maghrib prayer. They are too focused on Ramadan, prayer not into food so much. May Allah bless Somali people. Love from Bangladesh.
MashaAllah I ask Allah to help our Muslims brother and sisters around the world to remember that ramadan is the month of giving and worship Allah but not wrong to eat with loved ones

There’s just something about Somali people, you love them the moment you see them. Knowledge ✔️, culture ✔️, nice people ✔️. The shaik is very humble and sweet may Allah bless him. Love from Ethiopia/Yemen ❤️🇪🇹🇾🇪
wallahi, i remered when i was in the age of teenage, my brother and I go to my ant's house to the fridays to be there in the launch time. so what we do was we search a banana if there's no banana at that launch we give red flag or we call it an unbalanced food.
We used to have Somali neighbours when I was younger, and I remember their food. It was amazing! Also, we had neighbours from Eritrea and Ethiopia, and their food was also phenomenal! I'm Jordanian btw...Ramadan Mubarak everybody, and hope you all have a blessed last 10 days of Ramadan!
I had a smile on my face throughout the whole video. Allahumabarek i loved seeing different generations, different ethnicities but One Ummah enjoying Somali Cuisine. ❤️ from 🇲🇦
When the banana came out, I knew this would be 💯! Alhamdulilah, May Allah bless the sheik and always make us Mulsims celebrate each others differences. Ameen.
Somali 🇸🇴 food is honestly underrated 🔥🔥 Ramadan Mubarak my Muslim brothers and sisters and like Sheikh Abdinur said, let’s make this the month of worship and not the month of consumption
@@theancientsancients1769 💯 we don’t boast nor do we show off we just run business and keep our self to our self the other Muslim communities who are loud or show off lose respect in the long time .
First time seeing banana being eaten with all those salty and sour food. That a new thing I learned today. Will definitely try that In Sha Allah. Much love and may blessings of Allah be with the Somali people.
This is the DUA for LAYLATUL QADAR to be read during last 10 nights اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni "O Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me." [At Tirmidhi, 3513]
"I don't want no hooyo's coming after me" 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️ everything OnePath does is just incredible!! Allah bless you all and this Network!! And shout out to my Somali Adeer who done amazing!! 🇸🇴🇸🇴🇸🇴
Big up the Somali community I recently have started to eat bananas with (Pakistani) cuisine food that my mum makes and it enhances the flavours so much love it
Us Yemenis and our Somali brothers have a very similar cuisine Even the naming is almost identical Some parts of Yemen eat rice with dates, but banana is also very common And why didn't they include the pasta with Sugar 🤨?
What a rich food culture Full of colors and flavors Why don't you try some north African dishes Such as Libyan, Egyptian, Moroccan or Tunisian I highly recommend that 💙 May allah bless you brothers
Masha Allah, wonderful and enjoyable program, Somali culture is extremely nice, and when you visit Somalia, you will notice how the culture, food, and atmosphere are quite friendly. welcome to Somalia
Yes, north Somalia has a masjid with two qibla’s one to Jerusalem and another to Makkah. Islam was in north east Africa or the horn before 99% of the rest of the world.
Sub7anAllah, Somalians are so humble! Their foods and culture so advanced and their diets keep them healthy. JazakAllah Khair for posting this! We need to learn about our Muslim communities in other cultures and lands. MsA lovely ❤ food and hosts may Allah swt reward you both ameen.
I am watching this video by accident , but I am so happy that I discovered this channel and I am a new follower from Somalia 🇸🇴 , Honestly I loved this video so much .
0:45 interestingly there is a mosque in Somalia in the region of Somaliland called ""Mosque of the two Qiblas" and was constructed in the 7th century CE, not long after the hijra-to Abyssinia. The mosque's name, refers to its two mihrabs, which are oriented northwest towards Jerusalem and north towards Mecca as it was built before the change of qibla was revealed and is one of the oldest mosques in both Africa and the world
The eastern region of Ethiopia and northern region of Kenya belonged to Somalia until the ‘60s, when European colonialists divided up Somalia and gave its regions to its neighbours in order to weaken them. Ethiopia was considered an ally to Britain and other western powers in the Horn, in part due to Ethiopia being the only historically Christian force in the Horn of Africa (whereas the Horn was predominantly Muslim). That is why Somalis are the third largest ethnic group of Ethiopia today and exist in large numbers in Kenya. so technically at the prophets time most of Abyssinia was Somalia ;)
You should genuinely try fresh and sour Camel milk as it is a staple in traditional Somali cuisine its also really good! I would also recommend trying Oodkac some also call it Muqmad, which is another amazing type of meat most Somalis do not highlight for some reason as a staple Somali dish which it is, and it is best paired with Canjeelo/Anjero.
O Allah, on this day, awaken me with the blessings of its early mornings, Illuminate my heart with the brightness of its rays, let every part of my body follow its effects, by Your light, O the illuminator of the hearts of those who know... Ameen.
Somalian cuisine is one of my favourites. the food is very simple but has alot of flavour. When I was living in North London - I always used to go Brothers cafe in Bruce Grove and eat my heart out. I am also a Pakistani. Loved this video
don't know why we are getting this much praise I thought our food was dead compared to the Arab world also proud of this brother for bringing an elderly person who really knows Somali food also thanks to the brother for being proud of us
Why would our food be dead? We don’t really care about Arabs nor do we share a culture! We are proud of our own culture and food! What a strange thing to say
@@halimomoremoney1292 my sister I am as proud as you are am just surprised how this brother chose our food overall arab food Arabs brought shawarma to this world
Somali food is very diverse and original, the ones I can think of not shown here are Oodkac, Suqaar, Caano geel, Halwad, Malawax, Kimis/Sabaayad and there is a lot more! Our culture is rich and the first step to appreciating it is to learn about it :) Also comparing it to Arab is kinda not a fair comparison bc there are so many Arab cultures and countries with regional varieties whereas Somalia is jus one country!
Thank you very much for showing our somalia traditional food, we really appreciate it. And I also enjoy about moroccans food in brussels, its really amazing. My mom cooked me couscous in my first arrival of brussels. from that day till today I can't stop it. Masha allah ❤
Manshallah one path may Allah bless you for showing th3 diverse muslim communities 🙏🏽 our somali food is unique at the sametime its so similar to our neighbours of Ethiopia and kenya but also influences from Pakistan, middle eastern cuisines plus the italian colonisers left some of their pasta dishes there and we made it our own with bisbas and banana😂...humanity is one melting pot of similarities but we always focus on differences even as muslims, subhanallah diversity is beautiful, jazakallah please show more ☪️🌍🤲🏽
I knew he meant banana lol But I think the banana think is overplayed not everyone eats food with banana in Somalia! Its like side ingredient like the chilli
Absolutely enjoyed watching this video 🇸🇴❤️ love the sheik parting advice. Ramadan is a month of ibadah etc, our main focus should be worshipping Allah swt ❤️❤️❤️
I love when people choose elders to represent cultures and their food rather than diaspora kids who may not be as in touch with the culture and history. Please do more of this content with older people in the community. He really explained everything well
Jazakallah for representing my country respectfully with a knowledgeable sheikh. The canjeelo and also called Laxoox, can be had with dried small cubes of beef, drenched in sesame oil and black tea. That is also a good combo that is popular. I wish they also feared the Qahwa, specially Banaadiri Qahwa along with Xalwa Kismayo. It is worth pointing out Zeila in Northern Somalia, has a mosque with two Qibla. That is how old Islam is in Somalia. Lastly, I don't understand the fascination of banana with rice. I have some some parts of India and even Asia that fry banana and eat it. It really isn't that fascinating, some people love go have pineapple with their pizza too.
Somali food is top notch no one has had Somali foods and. It praised it they have from banadir one called kalamuda i ate at my friend it was stunning home made pasta ❤
Commenting as I watch the video I am Somali I was happy to see this video I watched it with my family and they all enjoyed it I hope you started with dates and watermelon. You could have also had the thick fruit juice.everyone makes it.(my family makes it with avocado, papaya and guava ) I've never heard of having Sambusa and buur together I don't actually think it is popular I've never heard of anyone doing it.
In my family it's common to have the sambuusa inside the bur and also a date. It's so delicious, especially with the date inside to give it that sweet-salty taste combination.
Yeah the Sambusa and buur combo is actually quite popular than you think. I had a chance to visit Mogadishu and Hargeisa a couple times in 2016-2020 and every ramadan I always see that combo
