Zero Emissions? There is no such thing as a Zero Emission vehicle. Where are the fact checkers? All the EV fires have to be tallied. The amount of pollution this causes has to be calculated including the house fires and forest fires that they have started and all of the many Diesel fire engines working for hours to try to put out these fires. and flame retardant planes used to put out the forest fires. It's not zero.

I think it was Union of Concerned Scientists that calculated that hybrids won't get us to where we need to be in terms of CO2 emissions. Hybrids are just gas cars that get slightly better gas mileage... Plug in hybrids might, although too many OEMs are selling PHEVs that don't have sufficient electric range. I owned a Chevy Volt which is on the upper end of electric range, and we probably averaged 90% electric operation. Since then I switched to a Tesla, and it's a much more practical car. I do have home charging, and I think that's pretty much a requirement to make an EV a convenient mode of transportation. Without home charging, a PHEV might be the best choice.

1:30 - You don't use water to put out an electrical fire. You need a class-C extinguisher that contains substances like baking soda and monoammonium phosphates that inhibit electric conductivity. Part of the problem is that firefighting departments around the country need updates to their procedures and equipment as the world transitions towards EV. Using the old technologies/techniques to try to solve new problems often causes more problems. One new technique under research is to slide a large "puck" under the EV. The puck has a hydraulic powered "needle" that punctures into the vehicle to spray an electrical extinguisher from the inside out. I'm sure some smart engineers have other ideas coming.

I personally think that automakers should use e-fuels (or eco-friendly gasoline). Since people don't want EVs, I think carmakers should use e-fuels because people love gas cars, and these fuels will reduce their environmental footprint. Wonder what if any guidance has been developed by the state fire marshal? PS - The Tesla truck closed the freeway for 17 hours to allow it to burn out. For those in electric vehicles stuck that long there is another issue. Many EV drivers seem to charge for the trip with little in reserve. If the battery gets to such a low charge functions shut down, including the ability to engage neutral so the vehicle can be pushed. If that happens, they are stuck in the road creating more chaos until an appropriate recovery vehicle or mobile charging vehicle can get them off the road. That will start to become more critical in cold, winter conditions.

Another well thought out idea from the democrats. Just like the comprehensive border plan. If you live in an apartment how would you charge your car? Or lived above a parking garage with electric vehicles parked below you at night. This is as stupid as defunding the police. Maybe democrats can just reimagine everything is great.

Showing the terrible chargers... 😂 when 95% of evs are tesla and have 40times the charging locations and none of those problems... did your sponsors pay for this fud story?

Hydrogen Fuel Cells are not only more efficient, but I have never heard of any fires caused by them. Ballard Power Systems has already Installed many of these systems on long haul trucks.

Why do people keep on voting for Gavin Newsom? I guess Forrest Gump was right when he said “Stupid is as stupid does.”

Because they are stupid, cost to much , take to long to fund a charge to long to charge. All that stuff should have been planned and worked out before any production began

electric cars are the future. Battery chemistry matters however with Lifepo4 or Sodium ion batteries being the winners. The highest density batteries with their volatile chemistries have their place, but not in cars. The early EVs all used those volatile chemistries and they are now getting older and showing their problems.
