First one was too good not to watch the sequel. This specific version of Minecraft is so nostalgic because of its transition to a groundbreaking game. Thank you for these 2 videos that will live in my head rent free Edit: thx for the likes! Only comment I’ve ever made that has the most likes on a video
If I could like a comment twice I would edit: man I'm sorry for giving that dry ass reply idk what I was thinking at the time but really, thanks for the comment it means a lot
I am not sure if this was a broader thing in the Minecraft community, but in our little server back then the whole updated cobblestone texture was seen as a controversy, with many not liking the change
As a regular b1.7.3 player and as someone who has been playing minecraft since 2011 I already knew most this stuff, but the inventory+w trick surprised me, because it happens to me on occasion but I never knew how to do it intentionally until now
Been using it as a speedrunning trick for a few years, it really is a feature when you understand how it works. I find that the timing is easier with the inventory key set to tab rather than e, since this affects the order minecraft processes the keys in, though it does take a while to get used to the different key binding.
I’m always torn when playing beta because I really like pistons but I prefer the older cobblestone texture and prefer punching sheep over using shears. I can have my Jeb doors, but at what cost? Also I like how you can punch doors and they open in the early versions of minecraft.
@@Myne1001 whaat, lol i started playing around 2012 and 2014-2015 was my golden age for minecraft and i never realized i played 1.8 for the most of my time playing minecraft
Mossy cobblestone was only the old texture for 1 update? I swear i remember them not matching for at least a year! It's so weird looking back and seeing how messed up my memory of this game is. I'll have almost all the facts, but they'll be scattered to the winds on what versions and what years they were true for...
This is all stuff I knew back in the day but forgot! The cactus and fence being too big was whack! Also, I remember being really happy when they gave each wood type its own top texture.
1:23 The creator made it so the little popups were in sync with the music. Herobrine is visible at the top left when he is talking about button placements. 0:56
I remember I had a world in beta 1.7.3, where I 've built a house (I still remember it), were mining and getting wood. I still remember how i searched for the best way to collect diamonds because I wanted to finally make diamond armor, and how I first knew that there were fishing and mushrooms in that version. The thing is that I started playing minecraft in 2014, maybe about in 1.5, it can't be just nostalgia on playing on that version. It is good because it is very simple, probably that is the reason i liked it.
0:13 actually this was the case right up till release 1.7. With the addition of acacia & dark oak wook they made the "inside" of logs different colour.
I recentely installed better than adventure mod and i really understand now why people still play this old version, it's much more exciting (that part probably because i've never played beta 1.7.3 and didn't knew to much about it + the mod) and harder, also surviving is now an actual challenge
i love beta 1.7.3 i started playing something like 1.4/1.5 everything feels way more... idk it feels so close or something, it got lost after. maybe thats my nostalgia, but i played recently in beta and i must say it different and better i just need to add, i think cobblestone texture onlly changed in 1.8 +, i remember 1.7.3 being with the black pixels
Remember being annoyed about the redstone when I started my 1.7.3 world back in 2022. I started in release 1.5 so I was too late to experience it so it was more of a first discovery than a revisit. Found that world untouched since April of last year on an old hard drive and had nostalgia for the nostalgia 💀
I've watched all three of these videos, and they're super awesome. But I gotta say, the endscreen in this one syncing with the melody of the music is just so satisfying. _(Yes of all I could have put in this comment, I credited music sync. Top 10 original)_
thanks so much for the support! I'm so glad people noticed the end screen sync, I didn't even mean it until I watched it over a week after making it and thought "wow, this could sync perfectly"
I've been playing minecraft since b1.7 released, and for almost every entry, I already knew that they existed, just a question, do you use betacraft launcher?
I really hope there is a community effort to one day fully reimplement a free and opensource version of beta 1.7.3, it would actually be reasonable with how little content is in the game, and I would feel safe knowing that microsoft cannot pervert this version.
We already have "Better Than Adventure" - a fan re-implementation of b1.7.4 with new features like seasons, skating boots, optimization, modern skin formats, etc. And it's free!
BTA is awesome but that's not what I meant sorry. I meant fully reprogramming minecraft beta 1.7.3 using modern software (like vulkan, actual multi-threading, etc), whilst still maintaining compatibility with the original version. (to an extent) eg a reprogrammed client that can still join vanilla servers etc. As software ages the cracks become more apparent, and eventually its going to get to a point where running beta 1.7.3 on modern systems may not work correctly. Also if we had a "community edition" we could implement an official modding API via lua or something, although these mods would break compatibility with the OG version, it would certainly be better than injecting random jars into the game at runtime. @@calluxdoaron1903
@@Fantoban i looked it up, it wasn't changed until 1.3.1, but when release 1.0 came out, being able to silk touch made doing it in vanilla survival possible
Im pretty sure they didnt change mossy cobblestone until 1.14, I remember playing 1.7.10 back in the day and having that old ugly mossy cobblestone texture from the beta era
