It's been a while since I restocked my watercolour paper, and what better time than now to try out a few new-to-me watercolour paper blocks for the first time. In the coming weeks I'll be using these for watercolour and ink illustrations. Those of you on IG and TT will have already seen the pencil sketches on two of them.

It's been so difficult to decide which block to start with that I've got something sketched up on all of them!

I have plenty of watercolor paper options at home tbh, but videos like this one make me want to buy even more! I don't know why but it just really excites me everytime I hold a brand new paper pad in my hands :D

I feel you on that! Doing restock-only no buys helped me a lot with it. Instead I keep a list that I add to whenever I get inspired by a video, then I can pick from the list when I need to restock. Not a perfect replacement but it keeps some of the excitement!

@@daenafae Yes, I'm also kind of on a no buy because I really want to use up all the paper I have instead of just buying and buying more and not really using it... We'll see how that goes when the next paper sale tries to tempt me :D

Arches gets so incredibly hyped up, when I first tried it out, I was almost... disappointed? It was very anti-climactic. I had unreasonable expectations due to the craze, which was sad because it really is a beautiful and reliable paper, but it has almost a weird cult following that puts me off for some reason. I guess after all the opinions I expected the paper to paint for me or something wild. I usually use Saunders or Etchr. Very excited to see you use all of these three, I am curious about the Masters' Choice the most since I know the other are great.

I've been holding off on trying Arches for the same reason as you described! So far I've been using the Saunders HP block and it's been lovely for all the stages of my process. Currently I have a snow leopard sketched up on the arches so we'll see how I end up liking it, but I do agree it's probably good to go in with lower expectations if possible!
