Some of Kendrick Lamar's Catalog Is OVERRATED.

I personally think DAMN is a bit overrated sometimes because people call it a classic (still amazing) and mr morale gets a bit overhated but that's my opinion. TPAB might be a bit overrated like i think it's valid to be called best rap album of all time but im not really sure about best album oat and i do think a lot of people are scared to explore different genres especially more unique ones like industrial music (nine inch nails) or shoegaze (my blood valentine) My ranking goes as followed. TPAB - 10/10 GKMC - 10/10 Mr morale and the big steppers - 9/10 DAMN - 8.5/10 section 80 - 8/10 But yeah it's all personal preference and stuff. I think people that have dealt with the same issues that is presented in mr morale might have it as their favourite album. I can agree that tpab and mr morale dont have the same replay value as individual songs but as a whole album experience i think they're way fantastic expecially to pimp a butterfly. To pimp a butterfly and good kid mad city is usually considered some of the best rap albums of all time and i personally believe they deserve it for how wonderfully crafted both records are. I do think people are hating on mr morale rn even more due to j cole + drake calling it tragic which i find pretty funny because even though many people think it is his 4rd best album it is still better than almost everything j cole and drake has put out.

you guys are looking at the albums from a “can i put this on my playlist perspective” and i believe that is the wrong way to look at the albums kendrick makes. i think one of the main reasons people don’t like mmatbs as much is because it is kendricks most abstract album in terms of listenability, because a handful of songs on that album don’t work or sound good when not in context of the album. damn and gkmc don’t suffer from this since all of the songs on those albums can be played in isolation from the album and still be enjoyable. i think people who say tpab is overrated are too close minded and only enjoy rap music, because some of the songs on tpab are jazz-rap fusion, and therefore a rap fan might not enjoy them. but when you open your mind to other sounds and genre’s they are genuinely good songs.

To say Kendrick has a better catalog than Drake and J Cole is blasphemy. Not only does he not have enough music to compete with them but he’s a weirdo.

Y’all wrong Section 80 is his official first ALBUM on TDE. Do your research 🤦🏿

As someone born into hiphop in the 80s and lived through several different genres and iterations of this thing we call hip-hop, I can say with conference that Kendrick is overrated. If you really study the art and music theory and find out why Nas, and MF Doom have Harvard courses taught about their lyrics. Kendrick music is another fad, a spinoff, pop-rap that wont pass the time test.

You guys just look at music\art differently. Some people want to experience a full album through and through, some only ever listen to it once and then put songs they like on playlists.Morale was supposed to be challenging and thought provoking. The production represented that in its experimental, stripped back style.

Damn is overrated, so is Mr morale. Simple. Neither are S tier albums like people praise them to be

ALL great albums should be listened to front to back.

Everybody problem is they keep saying you gotta play something over snd over to understand it if i gotta do that it tells me everything i need to know about your music.if the music really dope you know soon as you hear it and with alot of his music it dont catch you immediately and make you wanna go back

If we do the Prince Mike comparisons, then DAMN is Kendrick’s Purple Rain. Up to a certain point, prince had hits but it wasnt as consistent as Mike. Prince said, oh I can do that too, and when we felt like having an album of hits, he had it. That’s what Kendrick did. He can’t do the same thing as Drake. But when he chooses to do that lane, he brings us DAMN. And it goes crazy.

mmatbs was super experimental with the weird production and it went super deep into the narrative. For example, worldwide steppers may be my favorite song on the album because of it's weird production and vocals. It's an album that stands out from the rest due to its abstract production and lyricism. the reason why no one is listening to it is because everyone says its bad. It's overall way too underappreciated and I hear way too many people simply say its shit.

I love all kdot albums if TPAB is mid EVERYBODY ALBUMS TRASH
