Thank you all so much for the support!!! I truly can't say thank you enough!!!!! Yes. Yet Another Shrek The Musical video. But it was fun to put together so why not? Here you go!
@@katelynpanter1185 yeah the actor gets knee pads, but they still need to stand backstage cuz of how much it hurts bring on their knees while performing (my friend played Farquaad in our high school musical)
@@shocktun3s729 I mean, you said it like a fact, and fairly bluntly, but its your opinion. It just seems very aggressive and hateful the way you said it, at least for me
I love this musical so much. I used to dislike cheesiness a lot as a kid so I’m glad I only saw it for the first time as a teen. I think people try to take this too seriously or compare it to the movie but I see it as it’s own thing. It’s so ridiculous it’s one of those films perfect for when you need cheering up. Not always what I’m in the mood for but when I am it hits perfectly!
@@Anime_theatre_lover I’ve gotta say newsies and shrek the musical are definitely my two cheer-up movies! I was fortunate to get to be in both productions and they were definitely some of my favorite to be a part of!
I honestly think they did a great job of making the movie into a musical. I felt like it was really true to the story and stuff. I don't know if I'm biased though because this musical and the soundtrack were my childhood so
I honestly thought this musical was really good! I love that they gave the characters a bit more backstory and emotion than they could in something thats target audience were kids.
i’m forever grateful to my parents for taking me to see this live and buying it for me on dvd when it came out i was so happy and it makes me really happy seeing more people agree that this musical was superb!
YALL WANNA HEAR SOMETHING CRAZY- MY MUSICAL THEATER TEACHER GREW UP WITH SUTTON FOSTER AND WE ARE DOING SHREK IN HONOR OF HER 😌 i have really tried to capture my inter Sutton Foster to play Fiona but i simply can not.
I do think that in this original Broadway recording of the play the actors didn’t put as much emotion in their voices as the actors in the movie and that’s the one beef I have with the original shrek the musical
I’ve literally been listening to the soundtrack of this musical and “I think I got you beat” is by far my favorite. This musical is just waaaay too good! Also Donkey and Faarquad are the best characters I’ll die on that hill.
I really loved this musical as a kid so it’s nice seeing people love this musical as well. I always loved Donkeys song in this. Constantly listened to it
I agree with a lot of the criticism for this musical (I would recommend watching Schaffrillas' video on it if you haven't) but I still love it - it's hilarious and some of the songs are straight up bangers
I remember seeing the trailer for this and was like "that's dumb". Years later I saw it on Netflix and was like "ok, I'll watch 5 mintues of it". 2 hours later it became one of my favorite plays
Performed in the Jr rendition of this play, (as a guard, (first play ever as well)), and holy F*CK it was the best idea I could've ever had. If I could, I would audition for the actual version as well- Got me into acting 100% and now it's my entire personality
I was pinnochio in a jr production of shrek and I was SO MAD WITH ALL THE STUFF THEY TOOK OUT! Freak flag was about shrek and %95 of pinocchios lines were taken away :(
@@yeetfetus5269 not to rain on your parade, but TSfleming is right 😂 This video goes into depths about its problems ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pWT7H9Kf8t8.html Although please dont think this is me telling you not to enjoy the musical
Alas, the art and epic poems devoted to the Cult of Shrek are the only evidence we have of the peoples who lived before the great Steel Age Collapse. Yet the exquisite nature of the simple daubings and songs of praise offered up to this forgotten god of old are, to this archaeologist's mind, evidence of a broader culture of Shrek-centric art, thought, and technology that support the argument for the presence of civilisation in this era.
This isn’t my fave musical, but I love how it takes the original movie and just adds more. Granted, there are some questionable(?) aspects of the musical, but it just doesn’t really take itself seriously, and that’s where the charm kicks in. (I say that and then Who I’d Be kicks me in the butt, but yk what I mean)
1:32 I have seen this recording of the musical many a time and I just now realized that that was a reference to wicked and Mainly because someone pointed it out so yeah
