@thehellyousay
@thehellyousay 9 месяцев назад
@@gt4654 your response stands as proof that most parents don't have a friggin' clue how to raise kids, let alone how to educate them. Indoctrinating kids, now, there's where a majority of parents excel, largely because they'll have support from their church or their "racial" group, or their "class" group, at shoving their prejudices and fairytales down their children's throat. Parents are great at filling a kid's head with bullshit, and usually because they can't be arsed to be honest and say, "I don't know about that". I won't even start to touch upon their ignorance re: truly negative social influences on children from outside the family because, again, the vast majority of parents are getting it wrong there, too. Between guns, climate, drugs, crime, and bullying, the scope is too fast to cover, but the fact that a large segment of the parental population blame entirely unconnected issues as the influence instead of a consequence or just a response to the real issues, is telling. Kids don't learn to be gay or trans adults, they just are gonna be if they already are. They're gonna listen to music that speaks to them, they're gonna play the games available that they enjoy, they're gonna be friends with who they like, and they're gonna view the people who order them around with resentment. PS: You attacked the commenter (not the statement) who basically said the exact same thing as you did, just more elegantly. That is why your post is proof of the OPs comment. If your parents had known best, and done best by you, you wouldn't have gotten defensive to the point that you went on offense. You wouldn't have been triggered.

The U.K. once again followed and sheeped America again... it turned into a trend for most of them all over tiktok. So no... I still don't agree with most ppl in this woke crap. One other thing here, teaching children that life isn't actually all heterosexual, and as Russell says tolerance too, But it's more than that. I struggled for over four Decades thinking I was broken heterosexual. I had never heard of Asexuality. I am Classic description Asexual. I wasn't broken, I just didn't know there was a name for my sexuality, let alone that others felt the same. Thanks to the Internet today's kids aren't going to have Decades of believing themselves to be broken, they're going to know, and eventually through schools too, that Asexuality also exists. We're 1 in 100 apparently. Yet since I've talked about it, another four people I know, ranging from mid 30s to mid 60s have Also realised that they too are Asexual. I think the real figures are higher. I'm also Aromantic too, which explains so much! But my father was extremely Homophobic so I could never tell him. My mother wasn't just understanding, she totally recognised this was me. I long for a world where everyone can be free to be open about their sexuality and live in total safety 🌈

yes!! i never heard the word gay until i was like 12, and then it was always negative. i never heard about it being good, so i forced myself to try and like boys for years. i was so terrified of admitting i was a lesbian that when that didn't work i thought i was ace because i guess i thought that was better than liking girls. i'm 19 now, and it's only really in this past year that i've been able to be more honest with myself and others. but i was only really able to admit it because i had a massive crush on a close friend and there was really just no denying it anymore. the only good thing about this experience is that i now know a lot of asexual terminology, and i know a lot more about the community than a lot of other non ace people. i think it's a shame the lack of representation you guys get! proud of you for coming out to your mum, i wish you the best! stay safe :)

I do however have an issue with trans-gender women in private female spaces. I don't want to be at my local pool changing rooms with my daughter and see male genitalia no matter how they identify. Sadly it's been documented too often recently. I only know one transgender woman and in her words 'I don't want to be drying my balls in front of a Mum and her kids' . She always uses a gender neutral/disabled option. A few idiots make it awful for the majority of trans women who just want to tick along with life.

It seriously baffles me why people get offended when another person that has nothing to do with them says they personally don't feel like the gender they were born as. Bigot: How dare you not feel like the gender I see you as! Do you realise how horrible it is for me personally that you don't feel comfortable as your born gender? Do you realise how damaging it is for MY life that you feel that way? Do you NOT understand how disastrous this will be for me in my personal life moving forward?!" Average trans: "we literally just passed each other for the first time on the street. I don't even know you. How is what I identify as harmful to you?" Bigot: "Because it is!" That sums it up pretty accurately, if you ask me.

As long as you don't try to explain to me, a biological woman, what a biological woman is that you don't feel justified in making me watch your male penis in the women's changing room, we are all good. But there needs to be some ground rules because not everyone seems to agree on what is or isn't ok, so until that is the case my level of acceptance depends on the individual.
@audreydoyle5268
@audreydoyle5268 6 месяцев назад
@@melchiorlise2466 well, conflating a social construct as terminology for a biological concept which has been proven to exist within a non-binary continuum... Isn't gonna get us any closer to helping you understand that womanhood is not a biological marker. A woman is someone who expresses the socially agreed traits associated with womanhood, such as patience, motherliness, feminine aesthetical choices for the most part, and may have some physical features ASSOCIATED with the female phenotype. Just because something is a social construct, doesn't make it an unrealistic thing. It is very real, in the minds of those who consider themselves a woman or a man. But here, on the outside, we're just people.
@melchiorlise2466
@melchiorlise2466 6 месяцев назад
@@audreydoyle5268 Being a woman is about more than having long hair, wearing dresses and calling yourself a woman. We weren't oppressed since the dawn of mankind, raped, forced to have children, because we "exhibit socially agreed traits associated with womanhood". We got oppressed because we are biologically different from men, because we have vaginas, because we can have children, because we are physically weaker. When I think of a woman it's implicit I think "biological" woman and most people are like me. Trying to dissociate us from the concept of woman won't do any good, at some point the word will stop meaning anything for us, and we will once more be sorting people with "biological male" and "biological female". And then what. Call yourself whatever you want, dress however you want, date whoever you want and stop trying to redefine the meaning of a word so you can feel more valid at the expense of people who earned that word.

You are hilarious Russell but it's not just about love and tolerance. That can be taught at a later age than what is being done today.

Your one of the goodens Russell 😁 One thing though being trans is totally ace - i totally own it - so do most trans and non binary folk i know 😊 The neg side is just the prejudice mainly from certain media - keep making us laugh - keep tackling difficult topics 🙏

At least you don't have "road rage." As an American, I'm calling first. Also Russel Howard rocks. I loved your Taskmaster stint.

Well I guess I’m counting my blessings right now lol. I’m a chronic sleepwalker and have gotten into some pretty hilarious hijinks as a result… um but at least my sleep antics don’t involve me causing myself rectal tears! 😮

Thanks for learning me something new about bears, i though they lived mainly a solitary life. Think they should American History X, instead of the bears story - everyone knows to go for the young bear anyway, since daddy bear wants it hard and mommy bear wants it soft, but the last one is just right.
