Not enough people talk about the moment when Catra denies having feelings for Adora and her empathic emotional support animal who REFLECTS CATRA’S TRUE FEELINGS pounces on Adora and starts licking her.
I like to believe she did that because she thought she was dead and so was Adora so she put her ear to Adora's chest to hear if she had a heartbeat, and felt relieved when she heard a heartbeat because then she knew that they were both still alive
I love her animation especially when you see the cat emotions being expressed with her ears or tail Hah a magical found a magical cat, but for real I love seeing melog and catra interact
At 3:41 when Melog cuddles up to Adora it’s really cute. If I remember it right, Melog reflects the emotions of people around him especially Catra. So if you think about it that way, Melog cuddling up to Adora is kind of because of Catra’s love for her.
She's similar to Dracula from Netflix's Castlevania. To paraphrase Red from Overly Sarcastic Productions: "Their greatest weakness is that they're not as big a monster as they believe they are."
I think the cat ears were a brilliant decision to make a complex character's emotions easier to read. Not that her face was animated poorly... those ears just make it super easy.
@@leyrua as a cat owner I can confirm that their ears and their tails tell you a lot about how they’re feeling, something I’d love to see is adora touching catras ears to make her relax and giving them scratches so she purrs
This show has taught me one thing is that you shouldn’t judge anyone because Scorpia is different from all of them and Catra to it doesn’t matter who you are and that love can always save the world
“It’s hard keeping your heart open. It makes you vulnerable, but it doesn’t make you weak. And, I have to believe it’s worth it” I really needed this right now… thanks Perfuma
Okay, I know this video is about Catra but I gotta point out Entrapta's little "I forgive you." at 1:08. It's adorable! I just realized Catra waves her tail when Entrapta pats her head in this scene. Whether it's in acknowledgement or happiness, it's still cute.
My first reaction to that scene was: "That was surprising easy. Oh wait, this is Entrapta we're talking about. She didn't even mind being exiled in the first place."
@@falconeshieldshe understands. sometimes it's hard to know what the right thing is, and when that happens, you can hurt people. but if you really are trying to be better, forgiveness doesn't hurt anyone, and it can make all the difference in bringing you back. worked for Entrapta. why not Catra?
actually a lot of Slytherins can be mistaken as Hufflepuffs, but Catra is most definitely a Slytherin because of her natural desire to climb to the top and her not being afraid to get her hands extremely dirty :) I'd say she's a Slytherin through and through
@@nex5185 but it’s Noelle who said that, which means that she wanted to be big bad girl (because of how she was raised and abused), when in reality she’s a big softy. Even Double Trouble point it out when they give her a very much needed wake up call. She also said that Adora is actually a “Slytherin trying to be a Gryffindor”.
You know the best part about this video? Knowing that this show earned every single one of those moments. There wasn't a single instance of cheap emotional heartstring tugging.
As someone who's trouble keeping myself calm during something like a game, I can relate so much on Catra at 2:08. Adora being proud of Catra trying to work on her anger issues and despite getting angry she quickly took a deep breath to answer calmly. People might laugh at that but someone with anger problems will have a lot of difficulties doing that. Also, I really love the series despite being called a series for "girls" by many of my entourage. You can see a lot of character development and I really likes Catra's as while she still remains a "mean" girl, she's not meaning harm and is only for teasing.
You know, I really respect her arc. She ended up sincerely apologising to all the people she wronged the most despite saying she'd never say sorry in her life.
@@haydenberends3905 True, but there are a few "soft catra" moments in the rest of the series, like when she was giggling and smiling with Scorpia in the Crimson Waste, and a few moments in "Promise" and the pilot episodes. Like, the moments where shes not around hordak and shadow weaver so her inner softie seeps out a little
@@crestfallensunbro6001 technically The Sword Part 1 & 2 were like a pilot episode/episodes, bc they initiated the plot and intriduced us to the main characters and sich.
@Emma Thanks, I only just noticed that moment now (after watching this whole compilation about five times through!) The storyboard people on this show were geniuses.
Genuinely, it lifts my spirits so much to remember that Catra gets to live beyond the worst things she does (and the worst things that are done to her) and gets these moments of practicing vulnerability. Her arc is one of my all-time favorite pieces of storytelling, and I'm so glad it exists.
@@milliepearl967 because the precious baby had just started to make some steps towards overcoming her fear of rejection and to build trust and then BAM 😭 and if you want a serious answer, some people use fictional shows to project their own trauma, so obvs some parts will be cathartic and some parts will be triggering, so yea :)
I genuinely were completely sold on Catras progression throughout the entire show. It just worked so well and was a really wonderful way to end the show.
I don't know if this is a coincidence, or if the show-writers actually did it on purpose. But tigers sort of sneeze at each other to indicate that they're friendly. When Catra accidentally sneezed on the magic-cat, and it instantly became friendly, it might have been a reference to this fact.
You spend your early life in fear, being told you're worthless, always being under someone else's control, and then the one person who had been there for you the whole time is also the favourite who can do no wrong, but she goes and abandons you right when things are about to get better... it's easy to see why Catra spiralled. She stated trying to be the one in control, pushing herself into situations where the stakes were higher and higher, then when things got out of control, that's when panic set in and she'd do anything to keep from losing control again, especially if when it involved the one she saw as betraying her. Opening up to others kept blowing up in her face, trusting others kept settings her up for failure, and so she only truly opened up and changed when she realised she had no way to play things her way anymore... what a journey.
@@Nelmel2007 why are you so rude? Who hurt you? Also yes that's why i ship it???? Ship is two people in love even if their married thats even more ship
Funnily enough, a couple years ago I heard about this show but I thought it was called Catradora (wonder why lmao) and I had forgotten about it until summer of last year. I had discovered what the show is actually called and saw it was on Netflix and for 2 days straight I binged every single season and every single episode and it remains as one of the very (and I do mean *very* ) few tv shows that I actually sat through and watched through its entirety. I loved the art style, I love the characters (Adora, Catra, and Entrapta are my 3 top favorites of the show), I love the story, the messages being told, but what hit me the most was the amount of character development. This show has absolutely incredible character development and the ones that have stuck out to the me the most are (not surprisingly) Adora and Catra. Adora was initially a Horde soldier who was blind to the harm that her friends and family were causing to the planet and innocent people and abandoned everything she knew to do the right thing and become She-Ra. Throughout the entire show, she struggles with her insecurities, constantly feeling the need to prove herself, and feeling like the only reason people want her around is because she's She-Ra. And if she wasn't She-Ra, no one would want her at all. She feels useless without She-Ra. She is always so willing to sacrifice herself to save others because she doesn't see a happy future for herself and only cares if others are safe, completely disregarding her own safety at all times. Soon she learns to embrace She-Ra as a part of herself instead of a tool and began learning to love herself and find value in herself. Catra was a destructive, complacent, nobody in the Horde that was the target of Shadow Weaver's relentless and malicious abuse and manipulation and gaslighting who only saw purpose in her life through Adora. When Adora left, she felt an emptiness in her heart that she couldn't fill, so she tried to fill it by becoming one of the most powerful people in the Horde and doing everything she could to spite and kill Adora. She spent the majority of the show being bitter and angry and hateful to Adora because she felt that Adora had abandoned her (despite the fact that Adora tried to get Catra to join her several times) and her trauma stopped her from allowing others in that could help her. But she desperately wanted to let people in. We all know that she loved and cared about Scorpia, but Scorpia constantly pushed all her buttons, albeit unintentionally, and that would lead Catra to push her away. She would constantly lash out and was incredibly self isolating and destructive. But after she and Glimmer are captured by Horde Prime and she decides that she didn't want to be the bad guy anymore, she was willing to sacrifice herself to save Adora. She loved Adora. She always did. But she let her sorrow from past events blind her to that fact. And she had only just now begun to see again. She still struggled with letting people in, she still struggled with her anger issues, but she's actively putting in the effort to do better for the people she cared about. In the end, she learned to put her own needs aside and focus her energy on others. She learned to love and let go of the past that had been tormenting her throughout the show, and she learned to let others in because she recognized that they could help her. There is so much character development just for those two characters alone and their not the only ones to have these significant character developments. I wasn't expecting to ramble on and on about why I love the show but I'm quite passionate about it. If you survived reading the whole thing then props to you but also why? Lmao
I've heard people complain about how Entrapta forgave Catra a little too easily, but let's be honest, Entrapta is too pure and sweet to really hold a grudge. Plus, she could probably tell that Catra really meant it.
It’s “they’re” as in “they are”, “their” implies ownership. For example: “their phone”, “their friendship”. I get what you mean I’m just trying to be helpful, sorry if it’s annoying or sounds stuck up.
Lol I binged this series in 3 days. I have not ever officially watched anime until this series so the binging is understandable. I kinda regret going through it so fast, I want more and I didn’t give myself any time to get the problems of the last episode out of my system before I started the next one, so I’m not over it and it’s already over.
Same here!! Just started watching a couple days ago, and now i'm feeling kind of empty.😂 It was like a roller coaster of emotions without selfcontrol, chapter after chapter, NON STOP! And now is like "what i'm supposed to watch now?!! Where's my daily dosis of She-ra?!! The good ones are always taken too soon 😭
@@DRofRU-vid I rely on my lack of memory to watch the show again in a couple of months and feel like the first time 😂 (excuse my english, it's a bit rusty!)
Oh shut up, there is not such thing as „non-binary” lesbian xD If you want to be a misoginistic woman at least don’t call yourself a lesbian It’s like wanting to have a cupcake and eat a cupcake You decided to call yourself non-binary because you’re not like other girls? Fine, but don’t try to call yourself a lesbian, such a disrespect to wlw I have zero respect towards women like you xD
I don't know how the algorithm has done it, but, today after a long time without it happening I had a bad day. Anyway, this show always makes me feel a little better. Thank you
