Maybe not, but they still deserve recompense for this appalling travesty. Many are still struggling having been forced to pay back money they did not owe. Unfortunately, the dishonest Post Office is still in control and blocking their getting what they are due. Pay the postmasters now.

I agree with your comment, it's a disgrace what these huge company's get away with😢 We live in Spain and ALL banks here have been found out that they've robbed, over charged and put all their customers through hell for yrs! Our mortgage has been nothing but worry and upset for over 20yrs now. Courts told banks to pay up what they illegaly took from customers, but the banks have been so crafty by offering customers less mortgage payments for being old customers, once they signed they couldn't do anything about it😢 We got a lawyer onto ours but we were the lawyers first clients on this matter, bank paid us 17,000 euro, 10 in cash n 7 taken off mortgage, then they made us sign 30 documents each to say we couldn't go back to claim anymore, ( I questioned why so many documents had to be signed, but all they said was so we can close this case and you've been paid out) unbeknown to any of us, they should have paid approx 70,000euros😢 as they had charged us for Notario paperwork, insurance payments and high interest rates for over 15yrs😢 It's a disgrace and what they get away with is heart breaking for people like us, who didn't know they were breaking the law, we put our trust in our bank, thinking they were guiding us correctly but they scammed us ALL over again😢

Agree with all you say except the 30 months. I'd want all the main perpetrators of this appalling scandal locked away for at leaat ten years. And then a sliding scale of prison terms as you go down the different levels of culpability. And this includes those in power who knew, but did nothing.
