Probably helps she also speaks English as a second language. She is able to understand the intent better than a native speaker would (used to working around a limited vocabulary).

I think if someone said “use potion” in Minecraft to an experienced player, and they asked “what potion”, and the response was “dark eye”, that’s just effective communication in words. Both people would understand it. Pekora's persona is hubristic but she is clearly delighted that she and Moona did it using language

Not just english, but any language. Use any word you know, add anything the other party might know of a language you speak yourself and you can manage.

It's because she talks with Moona,her English is recognizable,for me at some point,I do not understand what she is talking about when she speaks English,like "Dark eye" potion..., it sounds like a riddle lol, that's cute of her,pekora.

What're you talking about? Pekora not using English, she using Pekoris, which is Pekoland citizen's first language, Japanese is her second language. Moona is the only hologirl who can understand Pekoris because the legend said from ancient time Pekoland citizen (moon rabbit) lived in the moon.

Interpret "use item" as a noun (i.e. items they're going to use), then figure out that "sord" is supposed to be "sword" (at which point it's clear that there's an implied comma between it and "food") Context does help a lot narrowing down what it can actually mean. Same goes for figuring out that "dark eye" means night vision and not an actual eye (there aren't potions involving actual eyes, and the only other potion affecting vision reduces it instead which isn't likely to be useful)

@@sikthehedgehog It's maybe easier for non-English first speaker to break sentences and words to basic meaning, because native English speaker don't have any other language reference. And Moona sort of understand the minute details of Pekora's English.

It's actually easier for some languages in same melayu or chinese language-root based countries to communicate using broken english, because their language structure are essentially the same. For example, 'use item is s(w)ord food' can be reverse-translated as 'tsukau mono (wa) ken (to) meshi' in japanese, or 'pakai barang pedang makanan', both which completely understandable in their respective languages. It's also not a coincidence the JP branch learns Indonesian quicker, and vice versa; their languages is just that compartible.
