I got to meet Waka at Warped Tour, I made sure to bring my Flockaveli CD. Waited in line at his tent, was the last one and asked him to sign it. He just went “Awwwwwwww shit” with the biggest smile signing and writing “Flockaveli Pt 2 OTW”, he became one of my most favorite humans that day.

@̣ Fa sho. I was told by Marine OSOs that I can't be an officer because I was too old to do Officer Training School (at 27) and should reenlist in Compton with a downgrade in my rank. I decided not to do it and move to Korea to teach English after a year of job searching and homelessness. While teaching TOEFL, I taught myself to improve my own writing and ended up publishing my own books and run my own self-sustaining company in writing. I can wake up and work when I choose and still afford to travel and buy what I want. Suck it, Obama!

I completely disagree, and this is coming from somebody that has never liked a full Waka song. What he should’ve done is take Tech N9ne’s route and built his own empire himself. It takes a whole lot longer but the payoff is insane. Today Tech owns 8 buildings, 4 houses around the country, the biggest discography in hiphop with his first project coming out in 1985. To this day most non-hiphop heads don’t know about him but his followers are willing to fucking die for him. Listen to F.A.N.S. or Overwhelming. Waka had/has the exact same spirit and energy, he just didn’t aim it in the right direction.

I'm surprised someone like Waka Flocka didn't succumb to despair despite facing so many hardships and losses. I never listened to his music, but hearing him overcoming his struggles was truly inspiring. I've never felt so bad and good for someone at the same time.

I had the opportunity to work on a music video shoot with him. I was interning for Warner Bros. records in 2011 and we were doing a music vid w him and drake for round of applause. The thing that struck me is how chill and down to earth the dude was. i was just there to do behind the scenes footage for the BTS reel, and he kept coming up to me to hype me up. I’ll never forget, one of the times he came up to me. He asked me where we got all the pretty girls for the shoot and we scoped out the ladies together 🤣🤣. it’s true that being humble and nice leaves a mark. that was over 12 years ago at this point but anytime i hear him mentioned i think about that day and smile. cool dude and deserves the success he’s got today.

He has been very open about his experiences with poverty, violence, addiction, and mental health issues. In the video, it is evident that he has overcome many obstacles to become the successful artist that he is today. His honesty and vulnerability in sharing his story can inspire others to confront their own struggles and work towards a better future. You’re truly one of the best of RU-vid! I’m serious! You’re so well informed and present facts and clips never seen or heard before outside of small circles. Keep it up! One of my favorite channels ❤👏👍

One of the best you've done so far. Thanks. I love Waka's story. I saw that therapy episode on Vice and was moved. I can't imagine the burden of hurt he carried from everything he and his fam have gone through. I'm proud of him and his growth. I hope he stays focused and light filled.
