Hi I am a big fan I have been watching since you guys started I loved the video from when I think Ollie was 4 you went to London I was there at the same time I did see you guys but never said hi because I was shy
I haven’t watched the daily bumps since Ollie was a toddler and fin was a newborn, your beautiful family has grown so much, I’m so happy for the both of you
Baby Jamie is adorable! Love watching your family all these years and seeing how much Ollie and Finn have grown. Love that you all have a beautiful home with property to explore and even your own farm. Brielle is the cutest girl ever and it’s adorable seeing her feed the chickens. She is definitely a farm girl.
we've recently read a couple C.S. Lewis books and 3 of them have movies. Also, the wild robot is what we're reading now, movie comes out later this year. James and the giant peach is another good one
It's a shame about the door. I'm loving your little homestead. My spouse and I are in the process of buying land and want to do raised garden beds as well.
- Adventures of Huck Finn - Chronicles of Narnia - Bridge to Terabithia - Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Matilda - Holes - Zathura These were some of my childhood favs, enjoy!
Homeward Bound makes me cry, I can't 😭😭😭 There is a book/movie Combo called Where the Red Fern Grows but be prepared to cry. They made us read and watch it in, I believe, the 3rd grade and I cried and cried 😅
That happened to me too, when I was riding our mower. Only it hit our passenger door window of our van..sigh... and again, when my husband shot a rock through our shed door. Our riding mower is now a mulching mower, so grass and stuff doesn't shoot out the side of the mower. Much better 😁
Hi Missy!! I’m going to be homeschooling my kids starting this upcoming school year! (They have done public school up until now.. they are in 1st and 2nd grade.) Could you do a “day in the life of homeschooling” video? Trying to get an idea on how to schedule homeschool days!!
I always have the blower part of the lawnmower facing away from your house. I am so scared of this happening. Can’t wait to see the new door. I have watched you for a very long time. I found your channel when I was pregnant with my second kid now is 11 and it’s amazing that you guys are living in my hometown.❤
We are reading a book called “Sounder” right now. It is a bit intense in spots because it is set during a time of hardship and social injustice but opens up great discussion with your children. There is a movie also. We aren’t quite done with the book so we haven’t seen the movie yet.
You can serve the morel in a cream sauce, super tasty. If you want to preserve it, dry it. If you want to use it again, soak it in lukewarm water and squeeze it out again afterwards. I'm really excited to see what you do everything grown in the garden.
The Laura Ingalls Wilder series her adult home is in Missouri and it is wonderful. They have a museum there and you can walk right through the whole house. And then of course you could watch Michael Landon series, Little House on the Prairie.
Please, please be careful with the Morels. I just heard (yesterday, actually) that a woman died because she ate undercooked/raw ones from a restaurant. The toxin in the mushrooms killed her pretty fast but it was extremely painful, and there wasn't really much they could do for her. So sad, and preventable! 😞
My husband did the same thing to our sliding glass door years ago. He hit a rock with the mower and it shattered it. We only mow with the blower going away from the house now. Expensive lesson for us. 😂
I loved the My Side of the Mountain series growing up and bought the same for my own children years later. Not sure how recent the film side of it is though 😄
Ouu I recommend the book Where the red fern grows. Sad but Beautiful story it's a book and a movie. The boys would love it since it includes farming, dogs and hunting y'all have to give it a try 😌
You can replace just the glass but it would be a whole new piece of glass (both sides) because it’s an insulated unit. Glass is pricey though so you could get a quote and compare to the price of just getting a new door. My husband has a glass business.
My Side of the Mountain by Jean George. Also has a second book. I’m not sure if the movie has the same name. Both my children really enjoyed these books
I used to watch you a long time ago when I was 10 or nine today I watched all these first Christmas. He was so cute. I still watched the baby videos when all the and Missy your dog. Luna is amazing. Sometimes I watch Christmas videos. I hope you have a great day. I’m starting to watch you guys again. You are amazing. I hope I can see your concerts one day, but I can’t because every time when I go to a concert, my stomach starts to hurting. Hopefully, I will one day
The adventures of natty gann, white socks, dunsten checks in, mighty joe young and the man from snowy river.... Are all older movies but kid friendly and a little educational.
An excellent book to movie is The Phantom Tollbooth also Because of Winn Dixie, any of the books by Jack London, Island of the Blue Dolphins is another classic. There is a book and a movie about a young teenage boy that went and lived on his own in the woods but I can’t remember the name of it,I last read it over fifty years ago. 🙂🐈🐈⬛💖🌈
Books I’ve read were wonder, Indian in the cupboard, a wrinkle in time, the one and only Ivan, pippi longstocking, charlotte’s web, little house on the prairie, I can’t remember if I’ve read it but because of Winn-Dixie comes to mind, this doesn’t have a movie but it’s a great book series called 39 clues. That’s everything I can think of. There’s one other one but I can’t remember the name. 16:05
Speaking of Morel mushrooms, a lot of people down here call them 'Dry Land Fish'. We love them!!! The way i prepare them is to cut them in half & soak in salt water overnight. Drain & put them in an egg & milk wash, then coat with flour & fry, adding salt & black pepper to taste. Fry in oil until light brown & crispy. Delicious!!! Peggy from KY!
I have never been this early!!! Heyy I love yalls videos so much I loved watching yall family grow from thr first kid to now. Keep up the amazing videos
Oliver was so cute and Finley was super cute. I wish they can stop growing. When I started watching Daily Bumps again, I was like oh my gosh, that’s definitely not Finley or ollie there we’re going up so fast, your kids are adorable and your daughter
Morrell mushrooms are the poor man's cavier yummmmm. I have hunted them for years. We slice them in half and soak them in cold water and salt to get rid of the bugs.We beat eggs and a little milk and dip, then coat with flour and salt and pepper. The best is fried in the iron skillet in butter. Morrell mushrooms sell for some big bucks, but we give them away or dehydrate them and cook in the winter. So freaking good 👍
I'm so glad the rock didn't hit one of the kids. Also, have you thought about digging a 3 foot round hole to put the trampoline in so the kids don't fall off the trampoline. That's what we did and it worked out well.
I homeschool my 10 year old. Some book with movie suggestions are Holes, Tuck everlasting, little house on the prairie (Disney has a good movie version), wonka..
My English teachers reads us books and Right now we’re reading The City Of Ember I think the boys would like that a lot there is also a movie to it ( I’m not teasing the book) you have to read it it’s amazing!!!
Wonder and Heartstopper- They are my FAVORITE books and I watch them ALL THE TIME. I probably have more since I am big nerdy bookworm, I'll let you know more if I remember any!!
I suggest doing or listening to the role doll books and then watching the movies I find that they are very good and the old doll books. If you listen to them, I usually finish a book within one day.
Book/movie combos. You could do Shakespeare, life of pi, travels with charlie, the wizard of oz, witches (one of my faves!), to kill a mockingbird, the color purple, the help, forest gump, the hunger games series, harry potter series, of mice and men, I have a lot of others too if you want more!
A few books to movies I enjoyed as a kid that the boys might enjoy.... Holes, The Wizard of Oz, Bridge to Tarabithia, Charlotte's Web, Around the World in 80 Days, Oliver twist, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, Because of Winn-Dixie, Black Beauty, The Borrowers, City of Ember, The Neverending Story
Watch acre homestead here on RU-vid. Becky is an absolute wonderful gardener and they have 20 built garden beds plus an orchard it’s beautiful. This is just her second summer here at this home.
There was a man across the street from us, using a mower and he apparently ran over a kong dog toy that was in the tall grass he was cutting. We heard a loud crash! That mower shot the kong toy all the way across the street and broke our wooden rocking chair on our porch! Now we don’t allow kids or dogs outside if anyone is mowing close by. The force could easily injure or worse, a child or anyone!
Love this video. Here are some good book + movie suggestions: Chronicles of Narnia, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Wonder, Around the world in 80 days, Paddington, Sherlock Holmes, and Wizard of Oz series (there are a few collections of these books on Audible)
Not sure if you named your new horse yet but I thought of a couple names I dropped in the last video but I think (Blaze) would be a cool name for him like fire
Some movie and book combo suggestions (might wanna research some of these first): Different season (magical pen) A Christmas carol The wizard of Oz The hitch-hikers guide to the galaxy I hope the door doesn't cost that much
Hi Missy I always enjoy watching your videos I love your homestead especially gardening I always really like gardening but you're asked for suggestions for books and movies my first language is low German I'm born in Mexico but we are in Canada no and I need to learn English so I do take classes for English and we are going through the book it's cold About a bug we are only on chapter 4 but so far I really enjoy it and after you're done the book then we want to watch the movie I'm very excited to watch the movie to hopefully this is something helpful for you too may God bless you all❤❤
A great book that has a movie that goes along with it is Middle School it’s a fun book, not as much in the genre of old yeller or hatchet, but I loved both the book and movie.
Hey guys! We are also homeschoolers and love your channel! We have a lot in common actually, it’s kinda crazy! Anyways we read the “Shiloh” book, and then watched the movie afterwards. The kids loved it!
Missy. Here's what you need to do: put a trash bag over the side that cracked and tape it on and then CAREFULLY take it off the hinges and lay it with the side that broke face up. Put the door on the sidewalk and have a professional take it away for you. That's what I did when something similar happened to me. My door window was shot with a bb gun. I've since moved but I made sure that house had bullet proof glass on the door and all the windows. That's another thing I suggest you do, is get bullet proof glass so if another rock flies at your door or a window it won't break at least as much. It's pricy but VERY VERY worth it. ❤❤❤❤
Sorry about the window. Had a wind storm a few years ago and a small rock shattered my back driver's side passenger window. I had glass everywhere. Brielle looks so much like Finn.
