Ryo I feel like you have to hit a very sweet spot to not feel bad for playing a game. One end of the spectrum is people with terrible laptops, and the other side is me, with 32GB Ram, i7 8700k, 2080Ti. I ONLY play sims, and I hate myself for it. I didn’t buy my computer for sims bro
@@dids3384 Well yehs, because professionals usually have strict time tables for this kind of stuff. You aren't allowed to put hours to one lot! That's way too expencive.
i get where you’re coming from but actually the people who build things for the game are super restricted with the amounts of items they can have on one lot so the game can run smoothly on any computer. some of these would make some people’s go boom
They have to make builds friendly for all PCs.... Lot of people wouldn't be able to open it with builds like this. Also these builds use every expansion possible in most cases. Without count time limit.
I really wish you could have both a restaurant/diner or cafe combined with a retail lot. Having to choose between a retail lot that sims can make food on or a really well decorated restaurant feels under done
Yeah, that'd be great. Maybe they could do it with Lot Traits, I dunno. As it is now I just make lots with the requirements for several things. It's pretty easy for retail since it just needs a cash register. But you do have to set all the items for sale. Then I switch lot types back and forth in Build Mode. You can also just put the barista station on your retail lot, and hire for it. You can do the same with the food stalls. The hamburger/hotdog stall works great for a diner/snack bar, I just add tables.
I'm literally in the middle of building Hogwarts but I don't think I'll get it finished in time plus the gallery is playing up for me. Really sorry I hope someone else does it though
@@HollyCzanirov i have seen one hogwarts in the past couple of years that was so damn impressive that i dont think anyone could ever do anything that awesome again xD
These builds are awesome, the Simmers out there are so amazing at creating these builds. How about having a type of illusion build sometime. Where you get to the lot and it looks like a regular house but underground or just hidden there is a whole new world.
“YoU cAn TuRn It InTo A rEsTaUrAnT” NOW James , we can all agree that that’d be a great idea ... IF restaurants weren’t eternally glitchy and basically unplayable 😂
James, I love that you do these videos showing people's awesome builds and I also love how genuinely excited you get seeing all of them! It's so great to see the variety and creativity that people have on the sims. I only got the base game recently (during the week or so that it was free) so I'm not familiar with all the items and what you can do with them, so this is a really cool way to see what other people do.
I like how at the factory, some of the cubicles had personal stuff. At one, I saw the baby shoe frame. Also in the factory parking lot, some of the cars were crooked which is a cool detail! Really nice build! Too bad my PC can't handle it 🤣🤣
"WHAT IS WRONG... * cringe * with other Sims when they don't take their dirty dish to the bathroom sink upstairs? You're doing the most logical action ever. Good job. *dies inside*"
I think if you didn't want to have to teleport with that build, you could probably get away with making a tiny secret basement path to the hill and hide it with a debug tree or bush as sims can walk through them
Every so often I see my house builds compared to my friends, and I think to myself "yeah, I got this. I'm quite good at making houses now." Then you release these videos and I realize my skills are shit :P
Desmond Sutcliffe yeah, but if a build has so many objects in it that your computer crashes trying to load it, that's not an advantage. Semaj should do a hashtag for minimalist lots, for those of us with elderly machines.
The Trueman Show build raised a question that has burned with me since that film came out... Would anyone else have liked to have seen a 'The Trueman Show 2' ??? that followed Trueman after he left 'The Show'. It could have been soooo good... for e.g. the Show people could have maybe tried to get Trueman back, but his billions of fans could have helped him to stay free, and they could have delved into Truemans life 'post show'... which may well have been harder than people would have imagined... dealing with a fame that you never asked for, or even knew that you had. Because; lets face it, Trueman still wouldn't be 'Free'. He wouldn't just be able to disappear, into a 'normal' private life.... and I just feel that it would have made a great second movie... or even a new Netflix Series (or other online show production company) =DDD
My favorite build was the night market, although I did get a little motion sickness from how fast the camera was moving rofl. Amazing builds, good job to the creators!
Are we just gunna ignore the fact that he skimmed over the fact that there was an ironing board in a public toilet?!? 😂😂😂😂 By the way I’m talking about the Thai build
i wish we could play with a mall kind of set up, open multiple shops and restaurants at one lot. would be so much fun playing at the thai night market 😍
SEMAJ !! Your videos get me through some really tough times ! Bedridden because I’ve had bronchitis for going on three weeks and just went through something traumatic . Thank you for all you do !
*James goes through security* BOOP "Yeah I'm good :3" James have you been beeped every time you've gone through security and kept on going? How are you not on all of the no-fly lists?
As always, floored by the level of detail and creativity in these gallery features! The factory could make for a pretty bad-ass retail lot challenge to sell everything in it.
Wow something about that factory build just immersed you right in to it. Even the cubicles had different personalities so you could imagine the different people that worked there. Truly amazing I could just picture it as a movie set or something.
Gosh. WOW. You know, I used to be pretty happy with my own creative in-game builds. USED-TO-BE being the operative word(s). These are all framming a-maze-ing and, as a previous commenter said "GENIUS level". I'm loving the idea of this whole series, James, keep 'em coming! I love being able to see other Simmers' builds through someone else's eyes, I love being amazed at what folks dream up, and I love the inspiration this kind of stuff gives others! Who knows? One day I might get brave enough to build something with one of your hashtags. LOL
I feel like every time I work on a build and I'm super impressed by my detailing, I see builds like these and just wanna yeet my computer out the window
Now my computer is not good enough to run lots like that so i dont like to get THAT detailed, but when I make builds like that where I am making a place where sims work and whatnot, I use get together to make clubs based on the sims professions and they “go to work” at the place that I built. And it works especially well for careers that have stay at home options. So for example, after seasons I built a botanical kind of bio dome lab that I built in one of those big lot parks in base game... and my sim was part of a “club” for people in the gardening career track... I made sure the main doors were club doors so only people in that club can enter and have access to all the plants in the game. I built offices and used the terrain editor to create bio domes and eventually used the get famous special effects objects so it can simulate rain in the bio domes... its this whole thing. Best part is that you set the actions for the club, so people arent just wandering around doing random things... the club members are actually doing work related things. And this works particularly good for lots that can be part public and part private like... a bank. I created a bank in the magnolia promenade area and set the basements as just rows and rows of individual vaults. I have a “business” club and set the members to people only in the business career track and they do things that look like work and help them develop their career skills too. The back offices are for club members only but any sim can get to their vaults... and the BEST part is that i can also have my criminal sims also attempt to break into the bank now! It pans out great for story telling. And because i set the lot as a club hangout, i can have any sin visit the lot and automatically see the club members just be there... altogether making the lot more lively. Who knows... maybe they get there while the criminals try to break in! Its just this whole thing. I totally recommend playing that way. Get together is such an underrated game pack i swear.
James has become an art installation, I see. XD But yeah, these builds were amazing! I'm not CRAZY about the witch's cottage only being available through teleportation, but it really does look AWESOME. And the camper build was an incredible feat of tiny building. The airport was so well-designed, the night market had SO much to look at. . .but the Truman Show and VisiMax lots were the stars of the show to me. That factory was so detailed! It was amazing! And the Truman Show lot reminded me SO MUCH of the movie. Absolutely epic. :D Seriously, how is a girl supposed to keep up with all these incredible builders??
Semaj I felt the same way about that alarm in that tunnel for the factory build. Great choice for the alarm sound. That looks like a tunnel from horror film.
