Someone Has Been In My Campervan in Secure Storage. We have our holiday home on wheels stored in Colarado for the last 9 months and have been excited get back to our RV. However when we get to the secure storage site, it is quickly evident that someone has been in and tampered with our van.
In this US Vanlife video, we figure out who has been in our van and why. We also hit the road ready for another great American road trip.

⭐ About Travel Beans:
Hello and welcome to our channel! We are Alex & Emma, a British couple who have been exploring the world together for over 10 years - from backpacking to vanlife:
2012/13: We both embarked on our own solo backpacking trips through Southeast Asia, where we would eventually meet at a hostel in the mountains of Thailand and begin traveling together. After a year and a half of backpacking around Southeast Asia & Australia, we returned home and to the corporate world!
2015: Travel Beans was born and we filmed our first videos on a road trip around Europe with friends! This was our biggest trip yet.. and you can go back and watch the entire adventure because we filmed ALL of it! This trip took us through Russia, Mongolia & China, on the longest railway journey in the world. Followed by highlights such as staying on a local island in the Maldives for a month, going on safari in Sri Lanka, couchsurfing & hitchhiking in Korea, seeing the snow monkeys in Japan, island hopping in the Philippines, trekking 60km through the centre of Myanmar, exploring the Indian Himalayas, and checking out some of the incredible US National Parks.
2016: Despite an unbelievably memorable year and a half of travels, which we were incredibly grateful to have had the privilege to experience.. we found ourselves in New York City, battling depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head-on.
2017: After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle. We left the UK with just £500 in our bank account and a dream to make a continuous travel lifestyle happen! We both got online English teaching jobs to be able to fund our travels and to keep creating videos. We can't quite believe that our younger selves decided to take this plunge but we are so grateful they did as we are still on this journey today!
What now?
Over the years, we've discovered that we LOVE road trips and even decided to renovate our very own little VWT4 van into a campervan to be able to enjoy vanlife and spend more time on the road. We are now the proud owners of 2 awesome little campers - one based in the UK and one that we keep in the USA. You'll often find us using one of these vans to explore Europe and North America. FOR THOSE WONDERING HOW WE PULLED THIS OFF: When Alex and Emma did video where they stored it, they drove by the sign, It was fuzzy but with about 10minutes of googling I found out the location. I called the owner and told him what I wanted to do. They work on units there as well so he had no problem getting the Phoenix Decal that we designed installed for me. Then I just sat and waited for like 8 months,,,lol.

I don't think it's cool at all. It's weird and creepy. They went out of their way to track down where the van is stored, somehow managed to convince the owner to give them access to it (!!!) and then made a modification to somebody else's property without their permission.

There are many places in Colorado that are a must see but my favorite area is Estes Park at the entrance of the Rocky Mountain National Park. I bet it feels a little creepy knowing someone else was in your van.

Hi Beans. It looks like there is a rear AC unit on the roof. These operate only on 120 volts AC power. I do not think your van has an on board generator so you would have to stay in a camp ground that has sites with AC power in able to use the rear AC if it does indeed function. Hopefully there is an operating manual for the AC unit so that you can get up to speed on it. On another topic you need to learn how to use the frig in the van. It will be either a 2 way or a 3 way frig. A 2 way frig works on AC power or propane from the on board tank. A 3 way frig will add DC voltage operation. Some travellers use the DC function as they drive down the road.Usually the alternator will provide enough power to handle the elictrical load. HOWEVER when you stop for the night you NEED to switch over to gas operation or plug into campground AC power otherwise the frig will kill the house battery in short order. The "house"batteries are not adequate to run the frig overnight. Your frig is likely new enough that it will have electronic starting when /if you select the propane option. I know a bit to learn . Have a great visit to the US Tom up in Canada in the Maritimes at the NB-NS border

I grew up in Denver, but live 210 miles No.-East right now. Lookout Mountain (where Buffalo Bill is) used to be a hang-out spot to party back in the 80's. Also, I love how Meow-Wolf is built between the overpasses of Colfax & the Highway exits! I have family who grew up & still live in Golden (The Home of Spyderco Knives)! You might like the Great Sand Dunes National Park near Alamosa, CO. It's 210 South of Denver in the San Luis Valley. The drive down Hwy.-285 to Alamosa is the best.

The carseat is so annoying! We just upgraded to a Sprinter Van from a Teardrop and find moving the carseat back and forth to be the most annoying task! Our little one is 13 months and we've been camping with her since she was 3 weeks old. Noah is the perfect age for this kind of thing! Welcome back to our home state! I don't think the storage owner would do that or let that happen. Bad for business. Yes, they have access to the van. They're most likely the ones who left the letter inside but the decal was from the camper van dealer.

Welcome back to Colorado! What a great surprise! Those are Miller Moths and they are everywhere each spring as they migrate from the plains, into the mountains. Those dots all over Phoenix are the "droppings" of the moths as they fly around. They seem to be able to get into just about anything, but can't get out! Ha! So, they create quite a mess. That new Bean is quite a cutie!

Check out Bishop's Castle near Rye, CO. Royal Gorge is outside of Canon City. In Canon City is Burger world where the burgers are bigger then the size of your head. Glenwood Springs has the hot springs pool and bath houses. Grand Junction has the world's largest flat top mountain. I am born and raised in Colorado and have spent my whole life around these areas! Enjoy!

If you store your van again you should use bounce laundry sheets and spread them in all areas of your van and storage areas as mice will not like the smell . Vintage cars regularly use This method to keep mice from their vehicles when in storage . I’ve used it and never had a problem

I looked and didn't see this suggestion so here goes. I was recently told that mice and bugs hate dryer sheets. When you put Phoenix into storage again, you could buy a box of Bounce and scatter the sheets about the van.

It's very nice to see you both again and baby Noah.. I look forward to seeing your new adventures. Well let Noah get used to the van it might take a while because it's all new sounds and smells and he might get a little upset because he doesn't understand yet what has taken place. But on the other hand he might be the calmest he has ever been. And enjoy the ride. A lot of people who have a newborn find if they were a little agitated the parents would put the baby into the baby seat and then go for a ride and the baby would calm right down. So don't rush to sell the van just give Noah some time. Welcome back beans and little bean.

If you ever get the chance visit the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming. It's run the the Smithsonian national museum system and it's incredible. It's a multi-day trip just in itself.

I spent my childhood in Golden. You should go on a tour of the Coors brewery. It's very noisy, so you might need ear protection for the little one. Go to Red Rocks Amphitheater during the day, even if all you do is walk around it. If only you had arrived a couple weeks earlier, you could have gone to the Jefferson County Rodeo (July 19-22). Maybe next year! Also, go to Central City for some old-fashioned fun.

I have found that the more shade I can create to park under the cooler my camping situation underneath is. Also, a lot less noise when it storms. If I'm in one place for weeks or months I will set up many tarps with ratchet straps in the trees. A piece of land with a covered parking spot with power and water is pristine.

Just over the boarder is Bluff in Utah. There is a very fun pioneer museum there and it is very close to Bears ears. An amazing experience and off Grid camping. At the top of the switch backs is a picture overlook that is breathtaking that is school district land and also free off grids camping.

Noah is getting so big way too fast. He is adorable and I love his little smiley face. I was only in Colorado once in my life and I was only 20 years old. I was in Boulder near the college campus there. A couple of my friends were going to classes for the summer. I just never wanted to leave. It is so beautiful.

Welcome back! Pike's Peak near Colorado Springs is a great day trip. You can drive to the top. The view inspired Katherine Bates to write the song America the Beautiful.
