Someone Is Killing Genius Society Members.. Why? | Honkai Star Rail Lore 

I think on a narrative level Polka serves to reinforce that the Genius Society is an ethically neutral organization, including malevolent as well as benevolent members (like Aiden). Rubert serves a similar purpose in the story.

Polka is one of the most interesting characters of the Society, so far she's killed one member who indirectly caused the birth of Nanook while the other discovered the existence of a material we use to make energy drinks. (At least in game) I personally leans toward that, she might be killing scientists before they discover something in particular, something she may know about but thinks its best if people remain ignorant of it. This makes me think she'll eventually go after Herta. On that note I wonder if she has some inside help, its kind of strange that Ruan Mei has a secret room within the simulated universe but tells us to keep it a secret from Herta, however its also strange that she helps us get a bunch of blessings rather then hide from us as well. But its just something I've been thinking about. Perhaps Polka is even a follower of Mythus, it would be a great way to tie them into the overall story.

The 1st time we learn about her is on tutorial when inspecting her portrait with kafka on the bridge. Also what i find interesting is nous counterpart is aeon of enigmata that actively shroud everything in fog of mystery as opposite of erudition mission. Why did i brought enigmata here? Because polka action is in tune with what enigmata does and posibly polka defect to enigmata. It is just my hypothesis so take it with grain of salt. Here is the argument that make me think this way: 1. Her action on scrubing all mention and portrait of her face did create a mystery that in line with enigmata goal 2. Her first documented murder did involve the reaffirming of the founding of flogistan making them back into the realm if uncertainty. Which is again the domain of enigmata

She's quite the intriguing character! All of her portraits in the universe erased? Genius Society slayer? And her title is the Lord of freaking Silence? Talk about an imposing aura! Can't wait to meet her... just like Herta. Would love a story arc around the Genius Society involving Herta (in the flesh), Screwllum and Ruan Mei around the Polka Kakamond mystery.

I just can't keep thinking about how similar she looks to herta ... Similar hair and clothing colours of purple and black .and the fact that she said she wanted to meet and said ( you and i have a lot to talk about) ... I believe she is her mother and herta wants to know why she did this to the other members... Can't wait

Maybe she worships the enigma aeon that would explain why she’s getting rid of all her pictures and it would back up the theory about her killing the other society members to make sure they don’t gain knowledge (and maybe why she’s doing this is because she found out the actual meaning of the universe)

Obscuring her actions and appearance… Mythus follower?

My random theory is that she joined the knights of beauty(the worshippers of idrilla, I forget their name). Could explain how she was able to completely remove every portrait of herself from the universe, and maybe they are against Nous or something.

TL:DR, Polka is fighting against the Enigmata, by embracing the Enigmata … or more specifically, by researching the fields of being enigmatic. Her name is so … off, Polka Kakamond? I’m under the slight impression that her name might be an anagram for something else. She hides her face, but not her name, and not her gender nor the general shape of her body, she doesn’t remove the portrait itself, just scratches off a portion instead, she doesn’t appear to care about her reputation, despite making a large show over hiding her facial identity. As a member of the Genius Society, she must have some inkling towards the Path of Erudition, whether it be following it, or removing it. I decided to do I bit of a dive into the meaning of Erudition and what a Philosophy of Erudition could possibly be. Erudition is a collection of knowledge that possesses some level of value. A Philosophy of Erudition is to embrace ALL collections of knowledge. (To give a little example to clarify the difference between the two. A Chef would want knowledge that a Chef should need in order to do his job/passion, while the Restaurant will need knowledge of several things, including the knowledge of a Chef, in order to keep the Restaurant from closing down.) This perfectly explains why Nous made the Genius Society, for a singular person alone cannot express the philosophy of erudition. The Genius Society is living proof of this philosophy. The Intelligencia Guild also expresses this philosophy, but in a more philanthropist method, which can limit the erudition one seeks. After all, does anyone need the erudition of Aeons to live? In a majority of cases, no, so the Intelligencia Guild would show little to no concern over the mysteries of the Aeons, while the Genius Society doesn’t limit its Doors to any field of erudition. Herta is a shining example of Erudition, no wonder she is an Emanator of Erudition. So, Polka … what eruditions does she seek out? … perhaps, an erudition of Enigmata? After all, we are expressively told just how dangerous the Path of Enigmata is, so if someone goes out of their way to lessen these damages, they would be attracting a lot of attention, so much attention that Mythus the Enigmata may interfere themselves. The only question I have now is … if her name is indeed an Anagram, what would the unscrambled version be?

There is barely information about Polka Kakamond to even start theorycrafting.

My crack theory is shes being puppeted or working with the enigmata
