About lan 2nd story is most likely. There is another entry depicting Flint emperor (heliobi progenitor) that support this theory. After sealed by xienzhou and exploited as some kind of power source, flint emperor strike a contract with the cornered xienzhou in a fight againts abundance. The emperor merging with lant and triggers said aeonhood. This theory alao supported by current heliobi which are both immortal and a split from flint emperor itself. Laatly about qlipoth you might want to add "allegedly" before oldest. A lot of documentation said otherwise and even herta suspecting it as IPC propaganda.
my headcannon is that Ena used to be smth like a hierophant (bcs of their appearance, veil and heart-shaped face thing) in a world where war and chaos ravaged the land. Not bearing to see the chaos run rampant across the planet they craved to create order and cease the calamity. And thus Ena ascended and the path of The Order came into existence :D And then they became a puppeteering control freak 💀💀
I laughed a bit too much about Akivili touching space grass help- But about Mythus, It says in the SimUni about "Remembrance, the birthplace of The Enigmata". We have a theory about Mythus not being a human before being an Aeon, but them just being born straight from Fuli without being a mortal before it. There are instances where Fuli is said to see the universe make the same mistakes over and over. Fuli is interested in memories, but even more so in *interesting* memories, if the memories are just the same thing over and over it is actually quite understandable that they would "give birth" to an Aeon whose sole purpose is to obscure the way we will reach the destined situations. This would make memories more interesting interesting to collect. Again, we cant take anything at face value since the History Fictionologists exist and, as you said, mythus can obscure their own "birth" but its an interesting thing to think about! About fuli we have also a kinda straightforward answer to when and how and why they ascended. They ascended during the swarm disaster in order to record the memories of the planets who were consumed by the swarm. They ascended and cristalyzed even more once they were ascended! After the swarm finished, you can read about fuli collecting memories in order to recreate the world once the next cycle of the universe begins once the current universe reaches its end (iirc its black swan the one who says it in her voice lines). So basically Fuli did not want the history of planets to be erased when the swarm wiped them out, and after that they're creating like a security copy for when the universe reaches its end and the next cycle begins Also HEY nice avatar!
The thing with Aeons is that Qliphopth is said to be one of the first and longest active alongside Ouroboros. Qliphopth only "ascended" 2158 Amber Era's ago according to IPC records which we're told in lore vary in length between about 70 to 240 regular grigorian years (refered to as Trailblaze years). That means that assuming said records are accurate, at absolute most The Aeons are only about 518,000 years old which is NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. The oldest known date we have for the Honkaiverse (not including GGZ because that gets very messy) is the "death" of the Martian civilisation 1 Billion years ago

Ima throw my hat in the ring and theorize about requirements for Aeon Ascension. The one thing each Aeon has in common is that they are the absolute pinnacle of their path, and if I remember correctly, are also their path. What I think is that each Aeon formed their path during their own ascension, because how else would their path exist before that? Each Aeon has a strong revelation about something, like Tayzyronth’s need to repopulate their race, forming propagation, or Nous needing to figure out everything there is to figure out about the universe, forming erudition, and those obsessions form paths. Now I don’t think obsession alone can form a path. If it did, then the universe would be bloated with gods. I think we’re missing a key ingredient in all this, which I believe to be Imaginary Energy. Let’s talk about Aha for a bit. Aha is said to have climbed the tree of existence, to see it in all. How is that relevant? Well it’s relevant because I believe the tree being referred to is the Honkai Star Rail universe’s imaginary tree, similar that to a tree like it from Honkai Impact 3rd. Why do I believe that? Well, for one, powerful reality altering trees have been fairly prevalent in recent hoyo games, including Genshin and its Irminsul, Honkai 3rd and its Imaginary Tree, and Honkai Star Rail and its Tree of Existence. Also the logo for the Imaginary element looks like a tree kinda if you look at it. Now, what I think is happening during an Aeon Ascension, is that something has an intense life changing obsession during a moment in which an absurdly large amount of Imaginary Energy is concentrated where the aforementioned something is. This would explain things like Nous’ ascent to Aeonhood, since it’s perfectly possible that Nous is powered by Imaginary Energy in the first place, and considering that it has a very obvious obsession with figuring out everything, that could have triggered an ascension.
To add on to what you said,I also think that for aeon ascension,not only is obsession and high levels of imaginary energy..but High enough concentrations of imaginary energy relating to that specific path or emotion.Since aeons are basically formed by the thoughts of sentient beings,producing imaginary energy
I also have an additional hypothesis concerning the simulated universe which entails the player controlling the trailblazer playing as Akivili. As the trailblazer continues procuring blessings and power from an amalgamation of paths, what if this itself can trigger an ascension all on its own. As I discussed in a prior hypothesis concerning that all aeons are one imaginary dimensional constructs of the imaginary tree as the cosmological army of the tree, what if the simulated Akivili as the trailblazer triggers a functional ascension into a different Aeon. As far as one can know, the non simulated version of Akivili doesn’t possess blessings from multiple paths.
I have a hypothesis that the aeons are connected to deep seated negative emotions in particular since aeons are connected to imaginary energy. Imaginary energy are described in mathematics as the square root of negative numbers in this case when there is a concentration of negative emotions rooted deep within an individual, then that collective energy will manifest into a transformation into an imaginary entity. This is why I hypothesize Aha’s ascension to Aeonhood to be directly connected to frustration with the monotony of the mechanical nature of the universe with this deep root of negative connections with frustration triggering the ascension to Aeonhood. I also hypothesize that Aeons are actually one dimensional projections of the mortals who ascended meaning the mortal who was originally Aha simultaneously coexisted with the Aeon projection. This is because Aeons are one dimensional projections of the humans as THEY consist of only one imaginary dimension while humans consist of two real dimensions. Thus, I also think the Aeon projections are cherry picked from the imaginary tree as means of defense against the true antagonist of Honkai star rail; the bridge of reality. I hypothesize that the imaginary tree contains an infinite number of imaginary dimensions, the sea of contains an infinite number of zero dimensions, and the bridge of reality contains an infinite number of real dimensions. The issue arrises when beings from the bridge of reality assimilate energy from the imaginary tree forming hybrid dimensional constructs such as complexions (one real and one imaginary dimension), quarternions (one real and three imaginary dimensions) that are substantially more powerful than Aeons (one imaginary dimension). I also hypothesize that the root system of the imaginary tree (tree of existence) is a significant place of importance within Honkai star rail beyond just merely traversing between leaf and leaf.
An interesting thing to note, in the Myriad Celestia trailer involving the Aeons, each one had a short poem underneath their Path. For example, Yaoshi the Abundance had one describing sorrow and relief from pain. This might be how Yaoshi ascended: pain, loss, and not wanting others to experience that. There’s a possibility that Fuli used to be a Follower of Preservation, a member of the IPC. In the SU, under the Aeons’ Archives, we’re told that Fuli’s first recorded appearance happened at the Speech being given by the IPC’s founder, Louis Flemming. I’ve always taken this to mean that it was during Louis’s speech that Fuli, an individual in the crowd, ascended into Aeonhood. And to add to the mystery of Aeonhood, we have Nous. A supercomputer obtaining ascension for the sole purpose it was built for? I always thought that Aeons originally were more … sentient before ascending. It makes most sense that Aeonhood is something only obtained through some profound understanding of a philosophical pursuit. That’s what Aeon’s essentially are, the physical manifestation of a certain philosophy being understood in whatever manner comes its way. Can a supercomputer develop such philosophical thoughts? Is it possible that the Astral Supercomputer achieved a sufficient amount of sentience to develop such philosophical thoughts. Or are there some confound qualifications it met to obtain ascension, and it’s Aeonhood gifted it such sentience? (This actually raises a very funny situation of Zandar saying, “I will now name you, Nous!” And Nous replies back, “And I Will now name you, Emanator of Erudition!” Zandar in complete surprise screams, “There’s no way I just created an Aeon!”. “While you are responsible for constructing me, you are not responsible for the manifestation of Aeons and Paths, so it’d be more accurate to say that your creation ascended coincidentally upon its completion.” Nous says calmly.)
while i can't answer in hsr lore for u but i can somewhat do so in honkaiverse lore(mainly ggz for this). I leave a cmt on the video going brief over the godhood ascension(aeon = god), check that first before read the rest of the cmt. When you understand the whole process of ascension you will see how insane Nous ascend is and how brilliant Zandar was. Beside all of the thing i mention in my cmt, there r a few extra requirement that can be sum up into: you need to be a "Sentient living being" to ascend. For Nous to be even qualify for ascension, Nous have to fulfill 2 goal first: evolve into living being(the definition is a bit vague in ggz, it more correct to said life form but let go with living being for now) and sentience being. Become sentience is not easy by any mean but evolving into a living being is extremely hard basically at the level of a miracle and both at the same time is already miracle on top another miracle(for frame of ref, in ggz it took the smartest scientist nearly a planet worth of resource and millions of life sacrifice, she was only able to create 1 robot that manage to evolve into semi living being status and that still took like few hundred years later after it creation to reach that point + being very lucky as well). If other aeon ascension can be consider a 2 step process, Nous case r like 4 step that just how difficult Nous ascension is compare to other aeon. Why Zandar is amazing? becoz not just any random machine build can reach ascension, it need to be build with that goal in mind to be able to do it meaning Zandar build a super computer/robot with the capability to ascend since the start which is wild and insane to think about. Proof is how Nous image is usually his head left, if Nous was build any weaker or less quality, Nous wouldn't survive the ascension process that how crazy Zandar achievement is and how dangerous ascension can be. => Nous ascension can only be describe as multiple miracle on top of many more miracle
Wasn't there also a mention that Fuli was created or somehow came into being during the Swarm Disaster? There's a part of Remembrance story where we see that, due to so many planets destroyed from the clashes between the Swarm and Oroborus the Voracity that Fuli ascended in order to preserve the memories of these worlds that were destroyed?
About the IPC fuli thing,i think that fuli was simply collecting an important memory.Fuli's goal is to collect all the universe's memories in the case of it's destruction.I personally think fuli was just recording a memory,since a change in leadership and the IPC -one of the most influential factions in hsr-would be pretty darn significant.Tho,I can see how rememberance and preservation overlap
Maybe aeons dont need to be a mortal before ascending, so maybe maythus was actually created from the little mistakes fuli made while collecting memories? Like if you try to remember something that haopened 10 years ago there will be blanks in your memory and the human brain will try to fill in the gaps with random things, so maybe mythus was asctually born from a coalescence of mistakes and not a mortal?
I actually agree with this hypothesis as I hypothesize myself that all Aeons are merely one imaginary dimensional projections that takes form and consciousness derived from the individual to function as the imaginary tree’s militia and protection against opposing forces such as the bridge of reality and sea of quanta. IX I presume is one of the most important aeons since it can hypothetically reduce all opposing threats to nothingness since zero functions as an imaginary number, real number, and a complex number.
While this is not hsr canon lore but due to hsr also have honkai in name so honkaiverse lore should still offer a good frame of reference so here r the simplify version of the godhood ascension (aeon=god) according to honkaiverse lore: 1. You need 2 thing: Divine Right and God Authority(Divine position) - Divine Right: the right to become god or it can be understand as the vessel that contain god. Divine right will act as the god vessel when asceding that will hold and sustain godly power/energy/authority - God authority: This is bit more vague in nature but you view it similar to a path in hsr. Why authority is important coz it will shape and define what god you r and what power you r. Ascending with no god authority will only made you into a nameless god, stronger than most mortal but weaker than any god with proper authority and title 2. Ascension process: a) Moment of enlightenment: when an individual fully understand a particular TRUTH(incomprehensible knowledge to mortal about the fundamental law of the universe) about something, it will trigger the ascension. When ascension is trigger this way, a divine right will automatically manifest for that being and they will connect and earn a god authority match with what TRUTH they just understand b) Forced ascension(just the name i give for easy call): after obtaining a divine right somehow and secure an empty god authority, you can start the ascension process by using huge massive amount of energy or special method to ascend the soul through your Divine Right to connect it with the empty authority. When this happen the energy and TRUTH of authority will flow into you and if you manage to pull through and not get destroy in the process, you will successfully ascend to godhood. In a way you can think of this process as the reverse of the first method c) Mix of both method Note: there r a lot of detail, risk and nuance that have been omitted, which also include some fine detail of the extra requirement beside the 2 thing needed that i list but that the general understanding of it. Ofc this only about people that ascend, there r natural born god as well so don't be surprise when someone like that appear. 3. i have a theory, where aeon enigmata is created/ascceded to aeonhood ,by the help of fuli, and maybe nous, after they find the reality that the universe is a game,they create enigmata to cover it up so that everyone's sanity can be preserved.
Makes sense when you realize Aha can actually break the 4th wall in the Simulated Universe. And since Sampo is actually aware of the "audience" One wonders if being a Masked Fool is also a revelation of the truth of Star rail.
I doubt that will ever happen, these are beings that humans can't comprehend, they might as well be conceptual beings. at most we could have are Emanators basically the representative of said Aeons.
A detail about Lan ascension where they are a hero from the Xianzhou that you missed, is that the hero fused with the emperor of the heliobi. The flint emperor (I think this is its name) . When the flaming emperor was defeated it was sealed away to act as a engine for one of the Xianzhou ship(I can't remember which one). When the hero was revived they made a deal with the Flint emperor. It is then speculated the the flint emperor and the hero ascended together to create Lan.
that is also one of many point that debunk the story of Lan ascend from Xianzhou coz the flint emperor still exist, it is also call primordial flame, one of the 5 remaining plaguemark, that is still being kept on Zhuming ship still this day. Maybe we get more detail when we get to go to Zhuming

In Honkai terms Finality IS the beginning since the universe is cyclical and Finality is the reset button. It's possible/likly that Terminus isn't even an Aeon in the same way as the others since Finality comes directly from The Imaginary Tree but understanding it as an Aeon is easier to grasp. Origin is a thing though is TECHNICALLY more of a "break the cycle" thing than an actual "beginning from nothing" @arnowisp6244
To add to the "Tacet Discords might not be all evil" there is currently I think 3 (technically 4) Tacet discords that canonically are not really aggressive to people. Spoilers to some World quests in the Dim forest and Whining Aix's Mire. 1st is the most non-significant one, if you look at the island where the Tower of Adversity is, there is a smaller island at the bottom, go to that island and walk around and you'll see a Hoartoise with an NPC, talking to this NPC, he informs you that he named the Hoartoise "Slowy", he tells you that doesn't know why Slowy is non-aggressive, but he has known him for a while and considers him a companion, he also warns you that every other Hoartoise on that island is just as aggressive as normal unlike Slowy. And yes, you can stand new Slowy and just chill with him, he won't be aggressive. (Side note, he has a health bar by the way, but its green like other friendly units like the soldiers, but I don't have the heart to actually attempt to attack him to see if I can hit him) 2nd is Hoohoo, from a Dim Forest World Quest, he is a Hoochief who seems to be friends with the researchers, the world quest also shows he understands what humans say, and can respond in kind, like when in the quest, the researchers didn't know where the last bulb was, so he responded by trying to get our attention and running to a direction. We follow him and find the last bulb, but not before we see him fighting his own species to basically protect us and the researchers, even fighting with us. The researchers also trust him enough to consider him a part of the research team, just as important as other people. 3rd and 4th technically are Mourning Aix and their mate, well Mourning Aix before their mate died. The world quest story showed that before, Mourning Aix and their mate were peaceful to the humans in the area and the humans even whistled songs at both of them and they responded back with their own songs. But because of a TD outbreak, their mate was targeted, they managed to save their mate but their mate was heavily injured. The humans noted that it seemed to call out to the humans for help with their mate but they couldn't do anything since they were busy with the TD outbreak. Afterward it tried and tried to resurrect its mate, at the cost of its own health and energy, explaining the name "Mourning Aix", now much more aggressive than before. The last pieces of their mate called out to us to help it convey its final farewell to Mourning Aix, and convince them to move on and live their life without them. This quest really was the biggest sign of "Tacet Discords aren't just evil" as it showed that Mourning Aix and its mate might have been fully sentient, not just the collection of memories from what they eat, showing that they can have alot of emotional depth. Mourning Aix is mourning a lost love one, thats alot more complicated than just repeating eaten memories.
They probably arent and are likely a product of the echoes they consume, the more they take in "negative" ones the more likely they are to behave that way but its just a guess at this point
In addition, couldn't an argument be made that Resonators are a type of TD as well? Seeing as how they mutate and all that... So if this line of thinking is correct, the morally grey area of the TD's could be a really cool concept to explore!

Trailblazing isn't just about going to new places and enjoying yourself. It's also about blazing a new path that others can follow. If Akivili is Terminus then what he's doing as Terminus to help the universe reach the same conclusion he wants isn't much different from how he set up rails to the places he's reached as the aeon of Trailblaze.
In the 2.3 we have new feature "finality view" , we can acces all content by skip the quest related to that event. It's counterpart to trailblazer who love the journey and quest 😂
Wait, I Actually love this theory. Perhaps the reason March's memories were sealed is precisely because she became very strong, an emanator of Enigmata maybe (the whole rating pistol thing adds). And the garden of recollection made her forget her true powers because she was becoming a threat to the truth of the universe. Perhaps she was so strong that she was rewriting the memories of the universe as a whole. Perhaps some of the stories we know about hsr universe were invented by her and never existed to begin with... Gosh, so many things in my head right now 😂😂
some other aeon might contain death as an aspect of itself that just hasn't been talked about, we could see the rise of death as an aeon later in the story, or maybe it's too small of a topic to be considered as a full aeon. Like I feel like if you're a murderer in star rail's universe there probably aren't many people that are killing just for the sake of it, so your motive might fall under one of the other aeons. and even if you were just killing to kill, wouldn't that be more nihilistic?
