🤣 I got the game and started being nosy as soon as it loaded. Left the car and started walking around and promptly got run over and killed less than 30 seconds into the game
It's interesting how this game subverts your expectations, like how the guy who gives you a ride seems like he will be a killer, but he's actually probably the best guy in the story
especially the motel keeper when he aggressively directs you back to your room, his whole demeanor changed, which made him seem almost suspicious but then he turns out to become your savior
@@thebestthinginthecurrentsi4727 yeah, also when the gas station sets up this whole supernatural horror bit, but then what actually comes of it is a genuinely real story that happens in real life...
for those who don’t know: when joe was telling the protagonist that they were making “goofy sounds” it’s because the guy inside the closet was taking advantage of her while she was drugged and it’s so disturbing
Woman who has been drugged, raped, and robbed before-this s*** is legitimately terrifying and happens in real life probably more than you’d like to think. Everyone stay safe 😢
Other people have said it many times, but realistic horror stories are so much scarier than supernatural ones. The idea of getting drugged in an isolated place is WAY more horrifying than a ghost hitchhiker.
This is the exact thing I always say about horror movies. I prefer stuff based on a true or something that can potentially happen to me over stuff about an evil spirit in a doll 🤷🏽♀️
I realized that Tommy says the phone doesn't work when you first enter the room, but after you get roofied, the phone rings. I get the feeling that they called on purpose to see if you will pick up and answer, to know if you're awake and they can't come back into the room and take advantage of you. That makes me upset.
When you come back to this video after FtF4 and realise that Jack is wearing the same white jumper for the TotM Coffee sketch at the beginning. It certainly made watching this a bit more interesting. This was one hell of a game.
This game freaks everyone out with the unique things, like (spoilers) being drugged, showing hints that there wasn’t any price tag for the coffee- that is insane
I’m CONVINCED this man will open the door to anyone in any situation. Both episodes first thing he does is swing the door open without any knowledge of anything.
@@italexs_ Probably to some degree. They could have been exaggerated. The parts I think could have been exaggerated in both episodes are when the intruder breaks in while the character is already inside and unaware. The first one is more unrealistic in the sense that you would know if someone broke into your house if you're sober and in the living room eating while being roofied and unaware of a break in is more likely and more realistic.
really glad Jack touched on how it may hit certain audiences differently as it's from a female's perspective (trust me, a lot of women fear for their lives every time they leave the house because shit like this happens)
Damn... It's a fucked world we live in where our fellow humans fear for their lives everytime they leave their houses.. Makes me feel very blessed to live in a relatively safe part of Australia where I've been leaving the house alone at all times of the day or night to walk to the local servo comfortably since I was 7 years old, and most if not all of my female friends are in the same boat as me.
@@4bidn1 I’ve always lived in a considered safe suburban area, but my mom was an avid viewer of true crime and I’m a girl. So I was taught to be very cautious; be aware of your surroundings, stay in the light, lock the doors as soon as you’re in the car and don’t sit in the parking lot, etc. When I was 16 I had night classes a few days a week and the other nights I closed at my job. I would walk to my car with my keys between my fingers. After a few uncomfortable experiences with customers or picking up food on my way home, I tried to buy pepper spray only to be told by the employee it was a “lethal weapon” and only 18+ could purchase it. I had to buy it online or get my parents to buy it for me just to feel safe enough to walk to my car by myself. My point of this ramble is that the world is so fucked that even people (specifically young women) who are from relatively safe areas are still terrified to do mundane things and unable to get equipment to literally protect themselves. _We live in a world that acknowledges the dangers toward people and then minimizes their ability to protect themselves_
I like that Sean said he liked the first ending he got. This is a way to really shed light on the fact that a lot of the times, victims don’t get away. This is a reality for a lot of people, and to make it seem like you can just “do all the right things” like hide in the closet rather than the bathroom makes it seem like it’s a game. Call the cops the minute this starts. Don’t take your chances or play their games.
In this episode of fears to fathom: Jack texts and drives, forgets to get gas after paying for it, and once again opens a door that definitely kills him
As a woman, this has been the scarier of the games so far. Being kidnapped, harassed, or worse while traveling alone is one of my greatest fears, and I think one that a lot of other women share. It's the sad reality of living in this society. Edit: people seem to misunderstand what I mean by "or worse". I'm referring to SA.
as a 17 year old, i went on vacation with my friends. we went to the beach and on our short walk back to our hotel room, there was a man sitting on a bench taking pictures of us in our swimsuits. it was terrifying. i told my friend who hadn’t noticed and by the time she turned around to fuck him up or do something, he was on his bike leaving. it happened so quick and it still makes me uneasy. i’m never going back to wisconsin
Yes , as a women who likes to take long road trips , you just have to be smart and keep your head about you. This is sadly a too common of a take that happens to women 😞
Out of all the scary things Sean has encountered in his years of gameplay, being drugged (as a female character) was the most shocking and terrifying. My mouth literally dropped when he said, “the keys are backward!” *shudder*
@@-Dazai- I'm assuming you have good intentions, but women traveling alone are often the victims of violent crime, taken advantage of (or worst case scenario, murdered) because they have no one else with them. Most women know that drugged usually means the perpetrator has an intent of sexual violence. If it were a man, it would probably him being robbed. Since it's a woman, most likely bodily harm. Women are never really safe, especially alone, especially alone at night. I hope you understand this.
@@-Dazai- literally statistically yes, in terms of sudden violent crime. But that's not the point I'm making here. I'm speaking about how women experience the world in a world that hates women, where femicide is a leading cause of death for women globally . 97% of women have experienced sexual assault or harassment. Women live in constant fear of being alone at night - there are hundreds of cases of women vanishing off street corners, from their apartments and jobs, while hitchhiking and traveling. Every crime show shows sex workers and random women being found horrifically and brutally murdered, rarely men. Men are more often victims of violent crime by sudden attacks mostly with sharp objects, or in brawls/muggings/etc. But 90% of attackers are male, in cases concerning all genders. Your point is thinly veiled misogyny. You missed the entire point of the original comment: female viewers of this video understand the cold dread reality of one of your worst fears coming true: realizing you've been drugged, and knowing what that most likely means. Knowing women experience domestic and sexual violence, sex trafficking, and other violent crimes at a higher rate. I will never understand why men feel the need to take a comment someone makes and turn it into an attack on men.
I’m glad that I’ve generally felt safe walking alone as a woman, but I’ve had times where I’ve been creeped out because I’m in an unfamiliar area and I’m very isolated from anyone, or I’ve had guys follow me. A good rule of thumb is to have someone with you when you’re in more dodgy areas or isolated areas wheres there’s not much light
For those who might've missed it, this is the full explaination of this story : - The white van you saw at the gas station has been following you from the very begining, you can see it drove past you at the start and most likely they noticed us and followed us to the gas station. We can see it later on too ( i forgot when that was ) - The guy(s) ? In the white van messed with our main character car battery while we were in the store, causing it to flickering and eventually shut down. - The guy in the RED car was also the bad guy. You first saw him when u leave the gas station, he was driving right infront of u. As soon as he saw our car started malfuctioning, he zoomed off knowing that we can't catch up with him. And then afterwards he stopped to set up those 2 logs that were blocking the road ( Most pp won't noticed it but it was the only car that was driving infront of us, after that car drove off suddenly there're 2 big fk logs on the road. If he wasn't the guy setting it up then how the hell did he get through it ? ) - You can see the RED car again at the motel, it parked right infront of room 4, the room that sits right next to the drugged coffe machine. Again confirming that he's involed in all of this - When you led Joe to the coffe machine, you can noticed 2 things : the trunk of the red car's open, probably preparing to stuff us in. And the guy sneak out of our room ( already seen in the video ) - You can spot him creeping outside the window at certain time, one time he's just standing there, the other time is when he took pictures of us ( flashing light from a camera ) and when he knocked the door asking to let him in ( he'll noticed you looking at him shortly after ) -After being drugged he snuck into your closet and stayed there til you leave the room trying to look for the coffe machine - You can't find the White Van at the Motel, only the red car, so I'm pretty sure that there're more than 1 person involed in this. They specifically lured you into that motel ( i don't know why don't they just snap at out mc when she got out of the car to moved the logs ) but my theory is that they're a bunch of creeps/human trafficing groups or drug dealers. - Edit : turns out you can actually spot the white van at the Motel place. All you have to do was follow the guy that snuck out of our room when we were with Joe, he'll led you to a place behind the motel where you can see the white van parked there behind the fence, cool and creepy detail. - There're no super natural things like that guy in the store said, all those people went missing because they were either kidnapped, or killed by those guys i was talking about earlier. - Jason and Joe knew what was going on, they just dont say it out loud. Jason warned you about those "things" which obviously referring to those bad guys, he even knew that they were the reason why her car broke down. - Joe warned you not to wake up other customers, my theory is : That motel were the bad guys lair used for drugs/ human trafficing/.. etc, he's warning us not to caused too much attention. He knew what was going on and was trying to protect us ( Telling us there's medicine we can take and later beat the hell out of that creepy guy ) - But at the same time Joe don't want any troubles so he insisted not calling the cops despite of what happened ( the gangs that was oprerating there will most likely hurt him if he might've done that ). => In conclusion, the area where our mc traveled through is a shitty place with high crimes rate. (Drugs, human trafficing, ... ) the locals there knew about it but they couln't do anything beside telling people who drive through here to be careful, maybe hitchhiking was also a method used by them to bait people. P/s : i've always wonder where the hell did the coffe machine goes after we drank from it, but i'm gonna assumed the white van might have come and pick it up, or it was moved into that guy room. ( it was true that the white van came and pick it up, you can see it parked behind one of the buildings ) - P/s 2 : There're 2 possibilities =One : that creepy guy(s) ? Belongs to a very shady criminal organization that held responsible for various missing cases of people. =Two : He's a serial killers that works alone or with his partner(s) ? Because he cant be driving the white van and the red car and be in 2 places at the same time. I think it's unlikely that this theory is true. + Either way, our mc just walked away from some very fuked up shit that we can't even imagine, all the things we saw here's just the surface.
Maybe he threw the coffee machine in his truck, which could be why its still open as well. Before the ending I thought the owner was in on it, like this was one of the motels that (sadly) do exist only to bring in targets to kidnap. But I'm happy he turned out to be a good noodle. Fr though every thing jack did I was screaming at my phone like Sean was gonna hear me😂
I saw in another playthrough that the white van actually followed the mc to the motel. If you follow where the man that creeped into the closet ran when he left the room, he goes to the back of one of the buildings and there you will see the white van just outside the fence of the motel. The attention to detail in this game is pretty amazing!
the bit at the beginning where the narrator says "monsters truly are real. and every single one of them looks just like you and me." added SO much to the realistic horror/immersion for me. that sense of dread we feel as she's reflecting on what happened, and we don't know which person(s) are the monster(s) she's talking about. also the fact that the motel front desk guy had anti-roofie medication already in the room,,,,,,,, how often does this happen here?
my favourite thing about sean's content is that he'll be playing a horror game that he knows is going to scare him but still does his silly little jennifer coolidge impression
Its so strange how barely anyody picked up on or commented on the fact that after she was drugged and someone was in the room, she was questioned about making "goofy noises." Someone definitely took advantage of her while she was unconscious and being that it was never directly said makes it so much scarier to me, because the character herself doesn't know it happened.
I thought about that too, in a way. If he was already in there, why just stay in the closet and do nothing? You know what I mean? He would have either left, killed her, or...you know...had his way. That just makes it twice as awful and scary!! I hope that part didn't actually happen and I am overthinking as normal, but you may be right.
Yeah its unfortunate that the law assumes that everyone has the same morals they won't save you if you come across someone who doesn't follow the same rules everybody else does
Even just coming back to this months later, this never fails to get me. Yes, the first one was hella scary, but there's certain things you can do to gain the upper hand; you're in familiar territory after all, and there's ways you can reach out to people you can rely on. Being in an unknown place, somewhere pretty isolated, with a couple people you don't know a thing about? As a female, that's such a bad idea, and there were so many red flags going off as Seán played, that honestly, the thought of something paranormal being a concern at the start was almost nice. Obviously, these things can happen to guys too, but the fact that it seems to be such a universal fear for females...ugh, it sends shivers everywhere. And as a few others have commented, there's a good chance she was assaulted and can't recall it happening (the "goofy noises" Joe mentioned) which just adds to the horror of it. Just makes me sick knowing there's people out there that do shit like that.
I like how the first half of the story makes you believe that this is going to be a monster or a ghost story. Then it turns into the all too real horror of creepy humans doing creepy things.
@DrakeoHD spamming popular channels with your shitty content is pretty cringe dude. Make something actually entertaining then maybe people will watch...
everyone- “why do these characters keep dying in these horror films?! it’s so dumb!” also jack in both episodes- ‘lemme just leave my door open and open the door to random strangers too!’
36:37 there was an ad for me just before the jumpscare so it just freezeframed on the guy hiding around the corner and then started talking about wendys frostys lol.
this one is horrifying as an AFAB person, this girl was 100% assaulted while drugged and didnt even know it :( and it happens all the time and to any of us. cant travel alone, cant go out after dark, cant be too trusting or too friendly because then thats an invitation. love this game, hope the woman in the story has healed and is safe
@@Jotenks yeah but im talking specifically about the AFAB and womens experience. no AMAB man has to fear smiling at someone will make them think they are entitled to rape and assault you.
@@Jotenks i do think like this irl BECAUSE ITS TRUE. males will NEVER experience the sheer terror that being cat called, alone in a hotel, alone in an elevator with a man, or in a cab alone with a male driver, envokes. ill put it in a better male brain way of thinking. imagine you have a huge bowl of skittles, almost all of them are perfectly normal, except you KNOW that four or five are poisonous. are you going to take that risk and trust that, not all skittles? or are you going to throw the bowl away?
@@0Pardofelis you are just factually wrong here, just because it happens more to one group doesnt mean it doesnt happen to other groups, you are giving mysandrist terf vibes
Now _this_ is horror done right. Almost no jumpscares, but terrifying nonetheless. Also, I personally preferred this episode over the first one because this one has a lot more variables and unknowns, meaning that you never know where the next scare will be coming from. In the first episode, it’s just a guy breaking into your house, and that’s it.
If these are real stories then it shows real stories without being dramatised is much better than made up horrors or ones that are "based on a true story"
I totally agree. I enjoy scary stuff, but almost everything these days is just jumpscares, and I can't do jumpscares. They're not even scary, they're just annoying. THIS! This is what I call scary. If you enjoy scary things, there are some great stories on r/nosleep with the "set of rules" type of stories. They're really creepy and you can usually imagine yourself what it'd be like, and that's pretty scary. But some stories which have actual storyline following the rules and a big reveal in the end tied to one of the rules was hands-down the best horror experience I've ever had.
@@notavailablenotavailable4764 Exactly. Mandela Catalogue made me feel unsafe inside my own home, and like Jack said, that’s one of the most effective kinds of horror.
It’s sad to think that she may have been sexually assaulted when she was drugged especially if they were already in her room hiding in the closet. Who knows what they did to her while she was out and then he mentioned she was making “goofy” noises….
@@PatyLikeIts1999 Literally from san diego to new york driving would take at LEAST 39 hours, though there's also time zones to try and factor in if you want to get there at a certain time. Blows my mind that european countries warn drivers to not be behind the wheel for over two hours when that's just a visit to a friends house over here lol.
12 hours to go from Texarkana to El Paso, with no delays or stops. That route goes through Dallas and Fort Worth, so add 2 hours to account for the inevitable traffic delays there. Bathroom breaks and food will add another hour or two.
Fun fact: this game is very changeable. Every little action you do can change some dialogue and events. Like if you pay for fuel but don't put some in and leave it would say as you leave the station "I didn't put the gas in the car" And the reason you would breakdown would be because of no fuel instead of a tree. Cool little details like that are so awsome in horror games.
@@simplekid4328 yeah it sucked that that game advertised itself as a choose-your-own-adventure horror experience, but Norwood Hitchhike never advertises itself like that, and the little dialogue and events are more just for players to see what happens if they choose to do little things differently, on the way to the same ending, to keep em kinda engaged I'm assuming.
@@simplekid4328 the walking dead came out before Detroit become human, so really TWD lowered the bar, and then D:BH raised it back up to the standard it should have always been at
I love love love Sean and his videos crack me up-but this game was so close to something that happened in real life I was bawling by the end. Take care of the women in your life, this shit is real
@@Pheniox827 No one's saying it doesn't happen to men. But when you turn a story about a woman, into something about all about you, you're belittling her experience, making YOU the victim instead who believes he's more oppressed than everyone else.
The first episode was Sean's biggest fear, and this episode was my biggest fear. The sad thing is that these are very real fears and with the way society is today, you will never get over them. They will always be there, no matter how old you get, how many weapons you have or how many friends you have around you. You always fear someone is going to hurt you one day, and it sucks.
As a woman, this was definitely the scarier episode. The panic of being alone in a place you aren’t familiar with and feeing threatened is way too real. Also, super cool that the game accurately captured the female perspective on this!
@@Kevin-fj3ff Who gets murdered more doesn't matter in this discussion. This scenario isn't about murder, it's about being stalked, drugged, and harassed by a pervert. You are comparing two very different things.
Possibly my favorite part about this episode of the game was that they literally put a microphone feature whenever the mc was hiding. This just puts it into even more perspective on what it's like to be in a situation like this and it's fucking horrifying. You can even see the horror on jacks face (and mine lol) when the guy started breaking in and looking around the room
I love this anthology of everyday horror. The first episode was like, adult fear or basic human fear, now we have literally every woman's nightmare: am I in danger from these strange men, will I be safe alone here, is someone going to take advantage of me while I'm traveling alone. There's a reason we do things like walk with our keys in our knuckles and travel in groups, obviously, but the fear is so ingrained as instinct even if you've never been assaulted. It's terrifying how being afraid of the opposite sex in certain everyday circumstances is so normalized for us, and it's nice to see a game try to portray that sickening fear.

I love all of Jacks little voices he does. He could honestly be a good voice actor
He's also done a voice in 'Vacation Simulator VR', it was funny watching him talk to himself. I think some of his best voices were when he played Undertale and during the whole game he added different voices to each character.
@@Yeettoinfinity The funniest thing is how it's not only a bot... But it's subbed to Jack as well so it knows when he uploads so they can post this stuff.
As a woman, I never EVER travel alone. This game directly, absolutely, specifically, expertly, decribes the fear I have traveling by car. I will only roadtrip with company that I KNOW. Family, SO, close friends. There is no telling what will happen when you are surrounded by strangers. It plays hand and hand with the Home Alone episode. Thank god for security systems! But, anyway.. This is an amazing game/game series! Please, play more!
@@hydrophobic5851 Yeah, it's knowing that one day, my walk from school to home will be less... as nice as it is. Also I happen to be Hydrophobic, so that's interesting

now you see Mr Munky , one time when PewDiePie was playing a popular game called PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds he could be seen at a bridge when he made a racist comment about another player.
I will never understand why Jack’s first “survival instinct” when he feels threatened in a situation like this one or in the last one is to go out to where the people who want to harm him are. Like, when the picture was snapped outside the window and Jack just immediately goes for the front door, I could literally feel my own body tense up as I felt like I was watching him accept an invitation to death!
See, the scary thing is that the log thing absolutely does happen. People block the road and then attack you when you try to unblock it. They rob you like it’s the 1800s, which is why it’s important to travel with others when you go long distances.
I get the fear of having someone in your house, but as a woman this one peaked my anxiety. I feel like I've been closer to situations like these more times than I would think, even the way the other characters talk to the protagonist is so relatable. But definitely, the key to a good horror is to create a sense of safety and "known" to make the player comfortable and then break it ruthlessly.
Same, I feel you. To me it was the hitchhicker moment and the part were you had to go from one point of the yard to the other, dark corners everywhere for creeps to run around
Same. I have been drugged, had people peaking in on me, a lot of aspects of this. I feel like a lot of women and afab people have experiences like this. like... most of us. i dont know a single woman/afab person who hasnt been SA'd
I said this on another comment but im afab and can relate to both the stalking and an experience which was likely an attempted drugging. My greatest fear is someone watching me from my window. So yeah this one hit hard, while the first episode very much fell short for me.
Seán silently yelling 'shut the fuck up, I swear to god' and pointing violently at the camera sent me✋😭😂 bc you can just so clearly tell what he's saying, it's so funny😂
As a guy who transitioned late into my life, I had multiple encounters like this back when I still looked like a "pretty lady" and one that my family even orchestrated by compromising my safety and privacy by telling my STALKER where I worked and where I lived hoping that the guy assaulting me would magically turn me straight/cis. The guy even had a buddy along with him in his car to follow me home and wait for my car to get stuck in a snow drift after I worked the night of a really bad ice storm and coincidentally they both jumped out of their car as soon as it was clear I was stuck. If I hadn't locked my doors and hadn't been in my driveway and my grandma hadn't come outside I don't know what could have happened. My grandma was completely ignorant of the situation I was in and invited the guy into our house and made the bastard a cup of hot cocoa while his friend conveniently took the car somewhere and left no other option than for him to be inside my fucking house. Apparently once the guy realized nothing was going to happen, he called the friend and he immediately showed up from around the corner where he was just... Waiting for the signal to come back. Didn't even leave. To this day I don't fucking talk to my family because without fail every time I expressed my horrendous amount of discomfort and anger at these encounters they would downplay the seriousness of what happened and accuse me of being rude for not "giving the guy a chance" despite it being public record that the guy was a fucking rapist.
As a female, this episode was much scarier in my opinion. There’s always that small part of me that is skeptical of drinks being drugged, and talking to the wrong people at the wrong time. The flash through the blinds is what really got me because growing up I was always told to close my blinds at night by my Dad without really knowing the real reason why.. then I grew up. I’m glad this story could’ve opened up some new perspectives to some. Hope you continue this series ❤️❤️
As someone also assigned female at birth, i totally agree. We constantly have to worry about being drugged and stuff. Ive had a stalker take pictures of my home years ago, a man who had said multiple times that he wanted to kill me and my family. Ever since, people watching from outside my window has been my greatest fear.
I love your commentary so much! Its amazingly balanced between humor and understanding the scariness of these situations. I also really enjoyed that small bit at 22:16. It had me cracking up!! Thank you to your editor too, he's doing great work!!!!
I love this chapter so much. One of my favorite parts are when players walk into the closet and realize that their mic is being recorded. I love their reactions.
I haven't seen horror this well written and executed in a long time, everything from the ambiance to the pacing is absolutely perfect, the fact that it also picks up your mic making you as the player feel like character you're playing as inducing an extra layer of fear is the icing on the cake. In other words, my god, this is good
the mic part was really genius! playing a horror game is scary enough as it is but having to keep quiet in real life really adds to the experience. i hope more games add that in the future
As a woman, this was TERRIFYING. Being alone and in a sketchy area is a very real thing that has occurred to me and many others and this episode captures it so perfectly
Yes, same!!!! I've been in sketchy situations like this and when you're a woman, especially one by yourself, it really does add another layer of fear to such situations.
A stranger in the house is a lot scarier to me. My mom and step-dad left me home alone (which is in the middle of the woods) when I was 14 for a week while they went on their honeymoon. They didn't want me missing the last 3 days of school before spring break. I didn't tell my mom but i was terrified. I checked the house obsessivly to make sure I was alone, triple checked all the locks, had my phone on hand at all times, and slept in the living room so that I would be equal distance to an exit from any part of the house. I had never slept so light in my life, and now whenever I hear a door open it wakes me up unless I'm sleeping really hard. I think it cured my sleep walking though 🙃
For me, the first one was definitely scarier, this one was just unsettling. My biggest fear would probably be getting stuck in the woods while being followed, or being stranded at sea, or just working at an oil rig.
I love the contrast. Gab drives slowly, stays in her lane, stops to read texts. Meanwhile, Jack dies in the first 3 minutes of the game, very entertaining! Love you both!
@Instagram User yeah, yeah, how would you feel if someone said that about your dad, and said the exact same things to you, because you're a horrible person if you think that way.
The scariest part of this ep to me is the roofie part. Just the idea that in a remote place like that someone could modify a machine without being noticed and it could victimize so many without ever being seen is scary.
It would be pretty impractical, as these things go. The reason something like Rohypnol is used in this context at all is that it's a lot less sensitive to overdosing than any non-Benzodiazepine sedative, but it's expensive and would still require a startling amount of micromanagement to avoid accidentally killing anyone. Too low and you might as well have just convinced someone to chug a few beers; too high or in combination with something else and they stop breathing, and the difference between the two is in the single-digit miligrams.
@@abigailm.7002 wow real smart assuming this person is a rape drug enthusiast, orr maybe they are in the field of medicine and know things? people like you are so annoying whats with being so condescending to this person just sharing their knowledge?

I love the fact that Sean instantly started driving on the left side of the road, like irl😂 and the scream of horror when oncoming traffic almost hit him😂
I think more horror games should include the microphone thing, then we could really feel that we are in the same place as the character we play! It's a nice touche
@@straightfuckingwater389 - Well, I don't know if this is a thing or not, but probably is - I think if you have a game that uses mic picup, it should also require headphones to further put you in the 'scare-mobile' - whispers in your ear that you can't quite make out, that's worse than whispers from the speaker on the desk that you can't quite make out. Also, require to play in darkness. - lol
Same, and then getting to a coast from Texas can easily be a 24 hour drive... never mind coast to coast. 12 is honestly not that bad all things considered.
Yup.. Oklahoman here. It's over an hour just to get to the nearest actual city from where I am. It was like a 26hr drive when we moved here from Virginia Beach.
Dude I live in Canada and It's a 3-hour drive to get to the nearest city (6-hour drive there and back), It's also the only city in my province with a population over 50,000 lol
honestly the second story is scarier for me just cause im already scared to come home late in my own city (im a teenage girl) so the thought of a road trip in the middle of nowhere at night alone where my car breaks down is so scary
When the headlights started turning off and on, the thought really set in that this story is real and is horrifying to think about happening. Imagine seeing someone walk away from your car as you exit a random gas station and get into an unmarked van and just leave. Or imagine drinking coffee from an otherwise normal coffee machine and waking up god knows how long later having no idea what happened. It wouldn't be as scary in any degree (at least in my opinion) if the thought of "this is real" wasn't in my head the entire time.
Jack is really good at spotting minor details. The guy going up the stairs in the first episode, the closet door closing in this episode. I would have never noticed those things.
This is the fear that every woman has when she goes anywhere alone. I never will solely because of being afraid that I could get kidnapped/roofied/etc and I really appreciate that jack acknowledged that
Not every woman has that; I certainly don't. An unwillingness to go anywhere alone must be very limiting. Perhaps self-defense classes and practicing situational awareness would benefit you. And please remember that being in a group, while greatly increasing safety, does not rule out the possibilities you mentioned.
@@tritoony Definitely not impossible. My bestie has been snatched WITH two other friends & barely got away. Now she has a metal ankle. Same with roofies- if I don't have eyes on my drink constantly, I abandon it. A lot comes down to the sense and attention of an individual or group, but sometimes it just doesn't matter. Either way, give yourself the best chances by being prepared.
The first thing I thought about was the fact I’m at a point in my life where I’m walking alone at night sometimes in a large city. It’s nothing too bad- just a block or two usually, but I’m young (and alone most of the time), so I feel pretty lucky to not have encountered any weirdos yet.
Personally, as a female viewer this shit scares me the most, not to mention how I conveniently go on long car trips to get to my parents every once and again. I can get Jack’s fear of someone breaking in your house, but the thought of being in the middle of nowhere with a creep gives me the heebie jeebies
@@TacticalPixels I'm talking about the scenario in the video specifically, though having drugs slipped into beverages is something that happens way too often.
@@preduxredux585 didnt have a much of a choice. Got kicked out of my ex fiences place, and didnt have enough money for hotels along the way so I had to drive from Alabama to Vermont in one shot.
Went home to Houston for a funeral back in March, and I stayed at a motel JUST LIKE THIS, and it freaked me out, because I had seen Mark's play-through. I looked through that entire damn room before I went to sleep. I even took video of it to show my friends, but then remembered they don't watch what I do........ Now it's just sitting on my phone. Forever.
I like how Joe changes his demeanor - like to her it's weird and he's being hostile. But I think when he sends her back and tells her about the meds, he realizes what's probably happened. After all, when she hides, Joe gets there pretty fast [all things considered] and gets the guy. So he probably does give her something to counter the drugging. And probably knows exactly what's going on based on the room you think the machine is next to. etc etc. One of those things where it's like "Was he in on it and was like "Not this one idiot" or was he sick of this crap happening?" or had he been made aware of similar happening and stepped in.
That was one scary jumpscare. I had to hold onto my heart, so scared I was. But really good game. Enjoyed the atmosphere and great endings, didnt expect somebody else to show up and help.
I couldn't believe some of the things this character did! The character's name is Holly so I'm assuming she's a she and as a girl too, i wouldn't do half the things she did (though i wouldn't do it as a guy either)
I’m pretty sure my dog Luna would tear apart anyone who would try to hurt me at home but out on the road in the middle of nowhere? Nope I have a baseball bat in my truck for a reason
I feel like both endings are important. Surviving to tell the tale is great, but it's also important that people also know that a majority of these cases.. You don't survive. That's what makes these games so haunting, they feel real because they really happened to someone else.
Whats scary is how the car in front of him when he was driving and his lights went out made it passed the logs, so the person must have put the logs there recently, so that person was probably watching him the whole time while he was standing there with the car broken down.
@@justapotato4231 the guy with the red car is the creep. You can see his car next to the room with the spiked coffee machine. His boot is even open when you're bringing the motel manager over.
