Someone RAGE QUIT in Overwatch 2 World Cup 

In case anyone's wondering, this guy didn't actually rage quit. The player posted on social media later that he had been dealing with an unstable game client for some time and it crashed mid-game.

I was honestly sad that the Philippines was bodied by Japan. I'm hoping they both learn from this and get better internet quality in future games, not just Overwatch.

I don't mean to spread negativity but I'm honestly surprised that Philippines came into this match so wacky. As Flats said, the team comps are not there for them, and they got massacred for it. I'd like to just understand their thought process.

Its wild that they didn't think to make any counter picks, just stay the same comp and keep getting rolled instead of trying something else

its sad. I'm from phil and people don't really talk much about overwatch since our country focuses more on valorant and moba games. Most of my friends and groups already stopped playing. Most of my active friend list now are from other countries. Overwatch 1 was never really big here anyway so it really was just curiosity that made it popular here from launch

As a filipino that watched the VOD, I'm surprised Flats covered this. I mean it wasn't much of a fight. I was kinda disappointed with how it played out. Japan was just doing really well while the Philippines struggles to keep it together. I just hope they wouldn't be too tilted after these games and learn from them and do better. Will still be rooting for my home country to perform well. Laban Pilipinas! ✊️

5:56 The majority of teams that I've seen, including Team USA, have been playing a lot of Winston Ana Brig Echo/Sombra/Ashe Tracer (Winston Tracer being played a lot makes Brig a more viable pick for protecting an Ana, Winston players just have to limit the aggression of their engages and focus more on trading backlines than peeling if nano boost is committed by an Ana).

Whilst Philippines did awful atleast they showed up and still played.

Looks like Japan focused the Genji and removed him before every team fight in the second round. Third round Philippines went stylosa strats high ground with the no drop of of bronze/silver/gold league. Everyone with half a brain drops and fights before the payload turns the corners because it splits the attacking team.

Damn even my own country newzealand put up a better fight than this and we had internet issues to no professional teams just threw in a bunch of players together and hope for the best but man we fought like demons

I’m filipino and i’ve only met 1 person here in real life who even plays Overwatch. I don’t think most filipinos care enough about Overwatch to dedicate their time to getting good at it.

As I understand, these are sort of like the FIFA / EUFA football qualifiers. In an amusing twist, if you watched Gibraltar's team in the qualifiers, they were just...absolutely trounced. They ended with -39 GD points, it was awful. San Marino was -45, Liechtenstein was -32. Watching Liechtenstein play Germany felt like watching an NFL team bully elementary school children. Football matches don't normally end "9-0" in professional level play, but that's the skills gap. I do feel sorry for the Philippines, but those players, despite getting trounced by Japan, are still probably better players than 99% of OW players. There's no shame there. It's just that 99th percentile isn't good enough when the deck is stacked with the top 1%.
