Seeing Mario be very relaxed and friendly is heartwarming considering how Speedrun Mario has been up until the Subspace, man is finally free of his literal demons.
@@user-zs5ub1ic1v clearly this just leads into the eventual Mario & Luigi videos where the speedrunning demon can't possess Mario again since this time Luigi is with him!
Kazooie flying up to look for a way out, then coming back to protect Banjo after finding the golden feather in Gobi's Valley is so wonderfully heartwarming.
I like that Banjo very clearly does not care to use the very obvious doors and entrances he comes across. Always through a wall or just above the door itself.
@@sweskeyeven without door experience, he’s still an expert at breaking into peoples houses (and I’m not just talking about link from the something about series)
This has me thinking: why? Yeah, it is a common joke in Something About to just make holes in the walls and ignore doors, but that coupled with the fact that Banjo briefly met Mario in Rusty Bucket Bay has me kind or suspicious of his behaviors. It's also commonplace in these videos that a lot of the actual game gets skipped in favor of better pacing, but the way Banjo VERY consistently kept rushing past several things just to do them faster has me curious if this is where that new Speed Demon is setting up shop..... That or he was rushing to save his sister. It could just be that. 😅
It's so good. He's such a ditz in the game, it almost seemed like everyone else was encouraging him to stay focused on remembering to save his sister. Him being a kind of mama bear for Tootsie and being drawn like it still has the same kind of separation from everyone else on screen
The most accurate thing here is every single time Banjo and Kazooie acquire a Jiggy, the Super Mario 64 "Star Get!" Jingle plays. And nobody bats an eye.
the shutterstock RETURN THE SLAAAAB, everything about Gruntilda, the recurring Kazooie eating Jiggy joke, Banjo being an absolute moron, such perfection
And I thought the Mad Monster Mansion segment was going to be the scariest, nope! (But Chris and Jill made it the coolest :D) That episode of Courage gave me nightmares back in the day
As a BK speedrunner, seeing Click Clock Wood being completely destroyed and the maze bit, knowing you can just jump over the whole thing, makes this so much better
Every single scene in this unlocked a memory of my childhood where I thought, "yeah, why CAN'T i just vault over these obstacles" Banjo and Mario happily waving at each other also made my heart sing
5:00 Aw, this is just like how the games had occasional moments where you get to see how much these two matter to each other. Kazooie isn’t trying to beat the puzzle or escape the trap, she’s trying to protect Banjo, even though she clearly doesn’t know if the power-up will be strong enough to keep them both safe from a collapsing spiked ceiling.
I like how Kazooie was practically the one suffering the most on this speedrun, having to swallow those puzzle pieces, getting cut apart and having to save Banjo a few times, I feel like bad for her
I like that it’s completely random if TM will adapt a level (or sometimes whole games) fully, or have the characters do something that just skips over or immediately completes the level
Still, Banjo could have forced her if wanted to. Kazooie was sweating while Banjo didn't show any signs of exhausting at all; might be due to their nature.
@@petersilie304 I think she was sweating more as a sign of disgust or being nervous because she was just about to have a jiggy that's been in the toilet / sewage system for god knows how long shoved down her throat. Note that the animation emphasized a jiggy being shoved down her throat twice at that point, and the second time was when it came from a garbage disposal, so it kinda set up the scene for that third time with the toilet jiggy.
I learned that the final boss music had a lot of touhou sound tracks Like U. N. Owen was her, Tomboyish Girl, and Bad Apple. plus more. otherwise no other knowledge gained
Awesome. My favorite parts were: - Gruntilda’s scream as she gets blasted from the laser eyes. - Banjo turning into an ACTUAL BEAR upon seeing his sister threatened. - Gruntilda’s laughing-mad drive to Tooty so she can kidnap her. Keep it up, TerminalMontage!
I was actually going to make a comment about the parallels between this video and a Speedrunner Mario video, and then 5:49 happened. The fact that they just did a simple wave confirms my headcanon that they are colleagues.
It's funnier if you consider that Rareware (company that created B&K, alongsides Conker's Bad Fur Day) had a strong rivalry with Nintendo and their Censorship. It's wholesome seeing Mario and Banjo just being friends though!
@@silverflight01 Mario never appeared in any other characters speed run but Banjo’s. That confirmed contact makes him pretty eligible for a speed run demon to manifest. Also considering there’s a few more games for Banjo to show up in. May be reading too far into it but for me that mystery is still ongoing. Speed demon said it wasn’t his end for Geno in their last convo meaning there’s another one rampaging elsewhere. Hopefully we will find out soon who it is.
can we take a moment to applaud the superhuman strength it must have taken for this man to NOT insert the obvious dearth of potential BIRD UP gags? i could not have resisted, for i am weak 😩 this is an all-timer, a masterpiece 💯💯💯
5:50 Seeing Mario in Terminal Montage's Universe far more terrifying than it has any right to be. It's like bumping into the final boss wandering around in the open world.
4:28 this whole sequence was hilarious, the shutterstock footage staying for a few seconds after the mummy disappeared, the mummy’s speech becoming the sound used for the puzzle directions, Kazooie getting fed up and just escaping, so much good comedy in a short amount of time
I hadn't given that moment any thought but now clicking the timestamp, the roar as he runs up the stairs after her sent me into a laughing fit where I actually collapsed on the floor. 🤣
This was hilarious and outstanding :D Great job highlighting some of the most memorable moments of one of my most beloved games my childhood had to offer ♥
5:10 The panicked bear roar from Banjo cracks me up the most. I bust a gut every single time I hear it. Then again, the Sandybutt Maze segment is amazing in and of itself.
I love how Nabiu did the no spoilers for the all the people who didn’t see that amazing animation. Also the Mario and resident evil cameos were brilliant.
I really like how stressful you made the pyramid maze feel. Playing this as a kid, there were a lot of things that scared me about this game (that damn SHARK in the ocean) and how fast the music got perfectly encapsulated how tense the maze was.
I love how characters in the something series just instantly become jacked, it's hilarious. Especially when they just absolutely wreck the enemy afterwards.
I'm sorry, this was released TODAY of all days?! I literally just replayed Banjo-Kazooie in its entirety and finished it this morning! What great timing!
It’s like a whole new side of Mario! Seeing him so chill after all those intense speedruns and battles is honestly heartwarming. The man deserves this peace after facing his demons in Subspace! 🔥🍄👏
The best 3D platformer of its era. This was excellent. A great trip down memory lane and hysterical as usual. The AMBER alert and after-credits gags especially made me guffaw. Loved the casual wave between Banjo and Mario.
Here I am, watching and enjoying the new TerminalMontage animation, and at 1:51 I thought: "was the the painted world of Ariamis?!" I went back, and indeed it was Anor Londo. Oh how I love those little references in these animations!
Banjo going feral upon seeing his sister and rushing Gruntilda is a sidetrack away from Grunty attempting a escape during the credits. But it is also so funny.
Many things in this world will change but I for one will never tire of Terminal Montage characters busting through walls and ignoring doors with the same exact entry hole and sound effect every time
You have made many wonderful and funny video game parody animations over the years, but this one stands out even among those as being of superb quality, hilariously funny and extremely on point with regards to the Banjo-Kazooie game. Truly, you have outdone yourself with this one (also the other people that were involved in its creation). Bravo!
I love that Snacker received the fearsome depiction that he gave kids when this came out. I named my Blähaj after Snacker and my buddy named his after Clanker. Thanks for making this, Terminal!
