Something About Everest
Starring: Mitch Hale, JP Mcloone, John Ward, Duncan Tebb, Tammy Ward, Holly Graham, Emma Willliams, Joy Leaper
In the midst of one of the most deadly seasons at Mount Everest, eight members of Chocolate Box Training took to the slippery slopes of the Himalayas with their eyes firmly set on the start line of the Everest Base Camp Marathon. They wouldn’t all make it. There would be tears, there would be moments of utter fear, and there would be moments of self-reflection that made the finish line completely insignificant.
Our first ever production by Chocolate Box Films, this is a story of ordinary people, doing an extraordinary thing - and how it changed their lives forever.
After flying into the worlds most dangerous airport, Lukla from Kathmandu, Nepal you are faced with a nine day hike to the start line of the Everest Marathon at Everest base Camp.
Over the nine days you will climb from under 3000m elevation to 5364m at Everest Base Camp, where you get the unique experience of being able to spend the night on the glacier.
Emerging from the beautiful mountains of the Himalayas you pass through towns of the Khumbu Valley and its very welcoming locals. Staying in tea houses along the way before you rise above the tree level and into landscape usually referred to as the end of the world.
You have sun, wind, rain and snow on this physical and mental journey. There are often tears but just as many laughs to match.
Don't forget after all this you have a 42km full marathon to run and you have to get down one way or another.
For any trail runner, adventure athlete or enthusiast the Everest Marathon or Everest Half Marathon offers a unique experience.

The children are so happy they don't even realize how difficult their life is. Thank God they don't know any difference. The little girl was so darling wiping your tears away and telling you to be happy. So sweet. It blows me away how fast Nepal and all the other communities were built back after the big earthquake. It wasn't that long ago. I wish I could go on this trek but my back is so bad, just normal walking is difficult. Glad you all had fun. Thanks for sharing!

It is so incredible, not just the kids but all the locals are amazing. Sorry to hear about your back, we hope you got to live through the trek a bit through watching our journey. If it's appropriate maybe we can give you some tips for your back? Emma (from the trek) is a gun physiotherapist.

Such an amazing and inspiring documentary! I loved it and I cried most of the video 😅 I will be running Everest next year and I can't wait to meet the amazing people along with the breathtaking surroundings. Ps: as an experienced marathon runner, I was shocked when one of the guys said that he never run a marathon before and yet he run his first at Everest, that's very impress although in my personal opinion I think thats very amateur and even though he probably has trained for it, if you are running Everest you should have run a marathon before at least once, however good for him, he did it 👏🏻. Thank you so much for sharing! You all are awesome 💪🏻⛰️🇳🇵😊

Heath, we think it's the time to go for it. From all these guys, it is the trip of a lifetime and an accomplishment no one can ever take away from you. Is it your year this year?

This year could be it, if not definitely next, I have been to EBC on a photographic trip many years back and all I could think about on the way back was running those trails 🏔 @@chocolateboxtraining

What a place for a photographic trip! You’ve done the slow trip down now time for the fast one because as you say the trails are made to be run (well kind of). We hope to see you smashing it. 💪 @HeathHolden

Sorry I didn’t get it. Did they run from the base camp to the finish line after walking up there?
