The west coast of Kassandra has a beach that is a real attraction. Photographers from all over the world come here to take pictures or record this unusual natural phenomenon... Cape Possidi comes out to the west but also to the east by being a continuation of the town beach of Possidi from the east and Ageopelagitic beaches on the western side. One of the names for this beach is Miti or nose beach, literally translated from Greek... but the Greeks also call it Ammoglosa or sand tongue, so you decide whether the shape of this beach reminds you more of a nose or a tongue ...The easiest way to find it on the internet is to type in Possidi beach, and it got its name from the nearest place, from which it is about 2 km away...
The closest you can get to this beach by car is to the lighthouse at the back of the beach, and then you have to walk 700-800 m to the top of the cape because your car would probably get stuck in this fine sand. The beach is a combination of sand and fine gravel... and so is entering the water... There are parts with longer and shorter shallows, so check if you are visiting this beach with children, although my opinion is that this beach is not really for children...
The seabed is clean and safe, but it is definitely not advised to go too far from the coast due to the different currents that act on this cape... What is also extremely interesting is that the beach is constantly changing its shape under the influence of tides, tides and sea currents, so you will always find yourself in at least a slightly different form... Cape Possidi is a completely wild beach, there are no cafes, markets and the like here, so prepare well and bring everything you might need for a pleasant day on the beach... This automatically means that there are no showers here, changing cabins, toilets, lifeguards, and no separate entrance for disabled people... Regardless of the fact that the beach is wild, we found it in a very clean condition in the pre-season...
During our previous visit to this beach in 2021, we promised that we would return here again. At that time, bad weather conditions did not allow us to fully see the beauty of this beach. Today, I can tell you that this beach is extremely interesting and extremely beautiful, so I advise you to a must visit if you are nearby...
