Mcgorty is the only trade the Habs will do. Maybe offer sheet Necas..... Maybe... Highes does not like to upset anyone ..

He's intelligent enough to understand to concept of karma so I wouldn't bet on that except if there are already other offer sheets.. I think the Habs are all in for McGroarty tho, he should be available for a decent price compared to the other 2 and has similar upside honestly!

I don’t know why you have an infatuation with a guy who scored 24 goals and was a -9 last year….on a team that is pretty good. 28 goals being his highest goal scoring is not THAT impressive. If we are going to unload 4-5 pretty good prospects and or draft picks, it better be for a guy much better than Necas. I trust the HABS smart people are just that…..smart……and will not feel THAT DESPERATE to be foolish.

Nothing big is happening , trust me. I’ve been watching this for a long time The most we will see is Hughes forced to trade picks and defensemen prospect(s) as the habs have too many players to signed and not enough rooms as they’re only allowed to 50 pro contracts , so drafting 12 times again this year would create more congestion in the system There’s also bad contracts and untradables on the team and guys who are due for big raises , plus Hughes has to wait and see what Beck, Roy and Kapanen can do , you don’t go get a top 6 player that could be outperformed by a rookie , so forget about necas, Zegras or whatever 60 pts guys you’ve heard about . Only trades that makes sense is package the 26th and and defenseman to move a couple spots , or package the 26th , a young defenseman and an unwanted contract to someone for not much, pretty much paying to get rid of a contract Two trades examples that would make sense but that aren’t major

Stay away from any pos who ask for a trade or refuse to sign with the club who drafted them while hasn’t played a single pro game . Carolina grows more desperate each year they have a good team and cant get to the cup.....but the price seems far too high for him. Scored mid and high 20's in goals, less assists second season.....not sold this guy is a the top end talent montreal needs to get to the next level....

We really don't know if anything substantial will happen..necas is good but great ? Nope, not even close.and who knows Carolina may not want to deal with Montreal and because of the bitterness and the fact they really looked dumb giving KK all that money, wow I was so happy they went after him I never liked KK and was never close to being a good player.so Carolina may want to try and get more from Montreal then necas is worth because they were embarrassed going after KK and losing sooo badly..

If people think Ignila will be a future power forward. He won't be. He is 6 feet tall. Sennecke was a small player before he grew 4 inches. He has a superior shot and is a playmaker with his vision. That won't go away. I have a feeling the Habs are going to pick him at 5. Depending on what Chicago does I do think Sennecke will be our draft pick. He will not be ready for another 2 years. People have to be ready for this. He needs time to grow into his body since he needs to fill out a 6'3 frame. He potentially might still grow even more since he grew 4 inches this and last year. But his upside is way higher then Ignila.

Why picking a guy that hasn't anything of a top 5 pick (except great hands) IN A TOP 5? People are delusional, the Habs management won't draft anyone that isn't physically mature with a #5 anyway (yes, not Sennecke). Go look at their last 2 picks and tell me if there is a trend there! Btw, Iginla isn't even an inch shorter than Jarome at the same age and he's 7 lbs smaller (growing 1 inch = +5-10 lbs). He has the best snipe of the draft after Eiserman so I don't see where you picked your argument, except in your head man... All the people that wanted Zadina over Tkatchuk because we lacked talent!

I do not what Demidov , look at the Rangers. They went on and won the cup with Panarin , no . Size and grit and skill. Do we need a 60 goal scorer like Toronto, they can't get out of the first line. Edmonton has the top two players in the world and lost. Kent draft for size and trade to get bigger.

By weight Montréal was the 7th heaviest team last season at 202lbs and by height they were tied with 27 other teams at an average of 6'1". The tallest and heaviest was Vegas, how did they do? The two finalists were 10th and 11th in size and height, Edmonton 6'1" and 202lbs and Florida 6'1" and 200lbs. How much bigger do the Habs need to get?

@@reneguay1347 Actually it doesn’t. Iginla is one of the most projectable players in the draft. Pretty easy to project him being a top 6 scorer with the potential to be a top line scorer and it shouldn’t take long. He already plays like an nhler. Sennecke has a ways to go developmentally considering he probably needs to add 20-30 pounds, learn how to play with that added weight while still needing to fully learn how to play with the added height recently. After that he’ll need to add layers to his game, right now he just dangles guys at 5v5 and that won’t work very often in the nhl. His skating is awkward, his balance is poor. He’s a big project but yes if everything goes right he does have very high upside. Sennecke is the type of player you see typically picked in the teens. Boom or bust. Sometimes there are guys who become one of the best from a draft class in the teens, he has that chance, but a lot of time they become duds.

Necas's is a better player than Caulfield... He does not play the power play like Caufield ... And he has played 130 minutes less than Caulfield.... Guaranteed that he would be a better player on the first line with Suzi and Slav than Caulfield

Forget Necas etc., never will happen, price is too high. We got to love all the rumours about possible trades etc. You raised some good points, like Necas new contract and how much will it cost the Canadiens to trade for him. Sorry guys, no major trades this year.

Lets do a hockey trade. Caufield for Necas . Why not, Carolina gets a star and Montreal gets a 6 2 power forward on the top line. Montreal gets bigger with speed and skill. Then go to Calgary and trade Gallagher and Anderson for Huberdeau. He will play on Dach's line , giving us speed ,size and skill. If you don't go big , the Habs are not making the playoffs and no cup. Kent said we need to get bigger.

3 way trade: MTL get Necas. Carolina gets Laine but MTL retains 3 M ins salary. Columbus gets Habs 2nd first rounder and Jaden Struble and has unloaded all of Laine’s salary.
