A little update to the Warner Bros. Distribution thing. I finally found proof that Warner Bros. did indeed syndicate Alvin and the Chipmunks. I found it here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--DK7HqnnrGE.html However, after doing a little digging, I did find out that Muppet Babies was not. Turns out their syndication distributors were Clastar Television. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claster_Television That list feels kind of short to me, there may be more. What is interesting to me is, there is a lot of Hasbro series on that list. Sorry this took so long. The idea was that I would work on four videos at a time and then I would release them on certain dates. That way I would not have this big of a gap. The good news is, I have the writing and audio done for the next two videos. The bad news is, editing. Still, I hopefully will get them out within the next month. Now what is funny about all of these series with the exception of Dungeons and Dragons and Mighty Mouse is they all got rebooted in one form or another. John K even tried to reboot Mighty Mouse in the mid 90’s and Dungeons and Dragons got movies.

So are the next 2 videos Disney videos because gummi bears and duck tales are next and those are both longer series than the Wuzzles. Also when you review commercials again can you discuss those cartoony live action ones meaning the live action kids commercials with cartoon effects without any animation in it. E.g. those McDonalds and other food commercials.

Well I've already started the History of Disney Television Animation which will include Disney Afternoon, One Saturday Morning, and One Too. Depending on how fast things go, either Gummi Bears or the Halloween Special will be next.

Gummi Bears is right around the corner. Duck Tales will be take a little longer since there is one more show that I need to talk about the came out before Duck Tales.

We gained a lot with the internet, but we lost a lot too. Saturday morning cartoons were special because they aired once a week and you couldn't see them anywhere else. Now you can watch pretty much anything on your phone; it's just not the same.

Its defintely better now. Because before if something was cancelled that was it. You probably wouldnt see it again unless it had VHS releases. Now you just youtube what you wanna see

From September 9, 1991 to September 11, 1992, Fox Kids aired Muppet Babies reruns on early Weekday mornings on the 7:00-7:30am half-hour timeslot, while at the same time it still had new episodes airing on CBS on Saturday mornings on the CBS Kid TV block, since the Saturday morning version was still very popular at the time.

Beetlejuice was originally on ABC in 1989, then went to Fox Kids in it's 4th season in 1991 while it also aired on ABC making it one of the first animated shows ever to run on two networks at once. Reruns would air on Nickelodeon, then Cartoon Network and on The WB Plus Station Group.

“Muppet Babies” used to be on WNYW-TV (channel 5) in afternoons in around 1988 through 1990 or so before Fox Kids picked up reruns of shows that were produced by outside studios. In NYC, “Muppet Babies” was not shown as part of the “Fox Kids” block in mornings as well as “Beetlejuice” the animated series, because of “Good Day New York” which was on channel 5 at the time. Sometimes it would appeared in afternoons due to tape delay. “Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures” lasted for a brief summer in 1993 which were reruns from the series minus the controversial drug theme episode.

Glad to see you back in top form, Toonamp. I look forward to your next video(s). I didn't mind the gap as I figured either life was getting in the way or you wanted to make sure your videos were of the same quality as previous ones.

Well, that's what happens when you outsources your animation to a shitty studio like Akom. You end up with shitty animation, and you have to delay your show while the network airs something else in it's place. Right 'X-Men'?

For Fox Kids, Alvin and the Chipmunks aired only 65 episodes. Those were the same ones that aired in syndication, not the ones that aired on NBC.

Beetlejuice also aired on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and The WB 100+ Station Group. Muppet Babies also aired on Nickelodeon and The Odyssey Channel. George of the Jungle made its way to Cartoon Network in 1995 to 1997 after Fox Kids. And then in 1997, it found its way to ABC to promote Disney's new live-action movie of the show. Alvin and the Chipmunks also aired on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. Tiny Toon Adventures also aired on Nickelodeon, Kids' WB!, Cartoon Network, Nicktoons Network, The Hub (and later Discovery Family). Merrie Melodies Starring Bugs Bunny & Friends was moved to Kids' WB! and named That's Warner Bros.! And then renamed again to The Bugs 'n Daffy Show. Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures also aired on TV Land. Thunderbirds Eerie, Indiana also aired on Fearnet. Stickin' Around also aired on Nickelodeon, Telefutura (in Spanish-dubbed) and Qubo in the USA. The Magic School Bus also aired on TLC, Qubo, NBC, and Discovery Kids. Beast Wars: Transformers Monster Rancher also aired on syndication (Bohbot Kids Network), Sci-Fi Channel, and Fox Family. Dungeons & Dragons Kong: The Animated Series also aired on Toon Disney's Jetix block.

For the caption contest: Mickey Mouse looming in the background: "Soon." Glad to see a new video from you. Your dedication to finding out every detail and making sure you're right is worth the wait. I was miffed when Nostalgia Critic uploaded his version but it was in high demand... Anyway I'll admit the shows you listed aside from the Merrie Melodies reruns went past my radar. I was more into the Fox Family era in the late 90s (Monster Rancher fan here) and I'll admit once Kids WB was invented my allegiance was with them. (Still want Detention on DVD or at least available for download) :( I'm surprised to see Magic School Bus because I remember PBS getting a hold of them. However! You are right that the internet took away the ability for networks to showcase older programs. I credit Boomerang and early Cartoon Network for introducing me to the entire Hanna Barbera catalog and the black and white cartoons like Popeye or Betty Boop. Buying other shows can make a network feel unique and fool someone into thinking they have a lot of content. I regret missing out on Dungeons and Dragons because dang I heard good things about that show. Thank you for your new video and congrats on getting another Patron!

I didn't mind Doug uploading his video. He is one of my inspirations. He hit on a few things that I missed in my earlier videos. His format was pretty much like my first three Fox Kids vids. It was good though. About the internet thing. I wonder if nostalgia is going to die out because of the internet. I remember going to Disney World and looking forward to riding Peter Pans Flight, but wasn't impressed because I knew what to expect because I've seen POV's of the ride on RU-vid. I think it kind of ruined the experience of the ride for me. Same can be said to TV series and streaming online. How can we miss a series or get nostalgic about a series if it never goes away and is always there? IDK. I guess time will tell.
@LilyBannel
@LilyBannel 5 лет назад
It is interesting how the internet has both enriched and ruined things. It's a different time. i'm glad that videos are more available because trying to find certain shows from before 2010 is different as heck. It's difficult to avoid spoilers but when I can I consider that a victory. I wasn't trying to be mean about being miffed about Doug's video but somehow whenever he covers something certain people think he gets dibs on it and I made that mistake years back. Nostalgia will never die, it'll just evolve! ^_^

Great video, Toonamp! While I've seen a few episodes of Beast Wars in syndication beforehand, it was Fox Kids airing the series in 1999-2000 that made me a fan of the show. When Fox Kids started airing Transformers: Robots in Disguise in 2001, watching that series made me a Transformers fan in general, as I started to check out other incarnations of the franchise, ever since then. As for the Magic School Bus, I think it was officially a part of Fox Kids, back in 1999-2001. I watched the series a lot, back in 1999, and I remember seeing Fox Kids packaging in the show, before and after commercials. I never knew that the Fox Kids airings of Beast Wars had any kind of censorship, before I found out about it online, years later. Despite this, I still think that Fox Kids was the least strict on censorship, when it came to them and their broadcoast channel competitors. After all, they did allow mentions of 666 and the Mark of the Beast go uncensored, in an episode of Digimon.

The only thing that really interested me on 4Kids was the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. However, I didn't really start becoming a fan of the show until I started buying the DVDs, back in early 2008. Another 4Kids series I want to give another shot is Dinosaur King.

Great video, +Toonamp! While I've seen every episode of Bobby's World during its 8 year run on Fox Kids from 1990-1998, I just noticed and remember that Warner Bros. was handling and syndicated distribution of Muppet Babies reruns on Fox Kids, while the show was still airing new episodes on CBS on Saturday Mornings in 1991-92. Warner Bros. Television Distribution distributed Alvin and the Chipmunks on Fox Kids from 1992-1993. I also seen every episode of Attack on the Killer Tomatoes on Fox Kids from 1990-1992, and 4 years later, the show was bought back in reruns from Spring to Summer 1996. I also seen every episode of Tom & Jerry Kids Show on Fox Kids from 1990-1994. New episodes of Beetlejuice was aired on Weekday Afternoons of Fox Kids, back in 1991-1992 during season 4, and in reruns from 1992-1993 on Weekday Mornings. New episodes of Tiny Toon Adventures was aired on Fox Kids in late 1992, and rerun for 3 years from 1992 until 1995, when the show end up rerunning on Nickelodeon at the same time. I watched every episode of X-Men back in 1992-1998, Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego? from 1994-1996, C-Bear and Jamal from 1996-1998, Big Bad Beetleborgs from 1996-1997, Beetleborgs Metallix from 1997-1998, and The Adventures of Sam & Max: Freelance Police back in 1997-1998. As for The Magic School Bus, I think it was part officially of Fox Kids, back in 1998-2001. I watched the series a lot, back in 1998, and I remember Fox Kids packaging in the show, and before and after commercials. I watched every episode of Beast Wars: Transformers on syndication, then on Fox Kids from 1999-2000. If Beetlejuice moved to Fox Kids followed the unveiling of the block, then how come ABC still played it?

The Fox Children's Network has acquired the Emmy Award-winning series "Muppet Babies" from Jim Henson Productions for weekday broadcast during the 1991-92 season. "i am delighted that the Fox affiliates were able to pick up Jim Henson 's 'Muppet Babies, said Brian Henson, president of Jim Henson Productions and son of the late Jim Henson. "They offer us the best forum to continue to bring 'Muppet Babies' to weekday television and it is an excellent complement to our CBS Saturday morning broadcast" The agreement will give Fox Children's Network 65 episodes to air Monday through Friday beginning Sept 1991 for one year. A Jim Henson Production in association with Marvel Productions "Muppet Babies" has won seven Emmy Awards, Including four for "Outstanding Animated Program."
