Fantastic! This sort of thing is the best way to learn about how watercolour behaves, lots of experimentation! I think too many beginners try to paint serious pictures right from the start and it can be discouraging as watercolour is notoriously difficult to start with!

sometimes it gets stuck in the paint and needs to be rubbed quite hard, that is sometimes if you apply the salt when the paint is a bit too thick or wet

thanks! With salt, about 20 mins or so depending on the temperature/humidity etc of your studio, quite a lot longer with salt as it draws the moisture and so stays wet for longer, at least an hour in my experience
