If you had a complete hose failure in the dock, the answer would to be to bobtail and let the yard dog put the trailer somewhere until you got it fixed. Simplest solution!
OMG , I almost pissed myself at the end when you were worried about your pizza . Glad you got that hose fixed . Can't wait for your next video for more laughs . Stay safe out there
This is the first time I've seen your channel and this was the first video of yours I've seen. I'm not a trucker but I have ALWAYS been fascinated with "big trucks." And you're energy just seems so positive. I think I've heard other trucker vloggers mention you before, too. So I figured, I gotta watch this guy. I'm so glad I did because your reaction to "solving" the mystery of the hungry pizza delivery driver had me rolling! Even more so because I immediately saw it stuck to the lid! Really enjoyed this bro! Stay safe out there.
Thats what i was thinking, it would make sense, full / partially full water bottle could do that especially if hes goin 55 and the other car goin 55 pretty much 110 mph impact on that plastic
@@bernesedog4863well technically your wrong on that the damage would be equal to say if you was standing on the side walk and he was going 55mps and you throw it because of physic it don’t add up to 110 it only 55
@@gamerslatestnews819 thats if one of em is not moving. If 2 objects are moving at the same speed, and say they are the same weight and they both were goin say 30mph. Just someone going 30 mph and crashing into something isnt a bad accident, but 2 cars going head on at 30 mph each makes it worse. Its like both cars hit a brick wall….
Aaww man Dave you are hilarious. The delivery guy was hungry. Lol. You got me laughing my ass off. Thanks for creating all these videos. Can you please do a video on how the split hours of service works.
This was another adventure vlog. I’m just glad your safe Dave we love you my favorite parts 12:33. And of course because of your incredible laugh 34:40 I cried laughing with you bud again love you stay safe stay hydrated keep singing please
i honestly didn't think it was that funny. if that happened to me especially after all the crap that happened to my truck i would be more pissed then laughing at that point. 😂
Too much shenanigans but you handled it very well Dave. I hope it was a bird that hit your mirror; not a maniac throwing something at you from those cars while cruising. Hopefully the safety will watch and tell you what happened. Your laughter is contagious haha, be well and be safe!
My grandfather was a truck driver for Hartt. We were based out of Bangor Maine. I’ll tell you this Dave, you’ll love Maine as a tourist but coming from someone who lives there, it sucks.
Dave, love the content been following you since the old moto vlog days and youre part of the reason I drive truck now. You literally drove through williamstown, WV which is where I live!!! wish I could have got the chance to meet you! Stay safe and keep the vids coming
Those people who speed up when you start catching up to them. I nicked name those people fluctuaters since they fluctuate their speed lol. Definitely my pet peeve.
LMAO, I laughed so hard at the end with the pizza... "I guess the delivery driver was hungry..." and i'm also watching at the missing piece as you, until u saw it on the box, hahah
Hey Dave, good chance that whatever hit your mirror ricochet back to the airline. Maybe safety will be able to see it . Had it happen with a beer bottle a few years ago.
I know exactly where you delivered. I've pulled many loads of sheetrock and drywall mud out of there. I drive for Gypsum Express. Long time fan of yours and would have loved to met you there.
ATS just got the new Volvo trucks in the game, and that part is called a " Corner deflector", it is a option to add to any of the mirrors. Must be a Aero part.
Had that air leak happen to me last year.. luckily a pilot was a mile away lol.. I always make sure to keep a spare line in my side box just Incase now.
You would be surprised how expensive some plastic can be, it is very odd that the mirror itself is fine, saw no damage at all. What they told us in school is if the compressor can keep the air pressure stable when you press the brake and not loose pressure it is fine to drive to a shop to have it fixed, if it still drops with engine running you are not allowed to drive so a tow or repair on the spot has to be done.
I used to love going to that area and visiting East Harbor State Park for disc golf, then heading over to Marble Head (Lighthouse) and Johnson's Island (Confederate Graveyard historical site), before visiting over to Cedar Point. Great memories!
You're in my neck of the woods now. I've never been to Gypsum but I've been to Huron quite a lot on my trips from Detroit to Cleveland. They have an ice cream place called the Pied Piper that has the best banana shakes I've ever had
Keep up the great content Dave! Out of all of these trucking channels I religiously watch you because you’re content is way more entertaining and provides better quality. I’m so mad you’re underrated and haven’t passed 1 Million subs. You definitely deserve it with all the hard work you put. PS. Would love to see some American Truck Sim camera angles again like you did back when you trucked for CFI. I am itching to see some backs in that angle. ❤ keep up the content.
@user-qf6ze9kx7x that’s your opinion but I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks that. There’s no other trucking RU-vidrs who have a bigger platform than him that can keep me watching the whole video so 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks man. I'm confused at y'alls argument though. You said I'm underrated, and "B" said I'm far from overrated, which translates to me being underrated. So wouldn't y'all both be saying the same thing? I'm just sayin lol.
Welcome to the world of plastic Volvo. My right side flew off so hard it actually imprinted the door. After getting the truck back from the shop I kept zip ties on those plastic parts
That place is right near East Harbor State Park in Ohio. We tried to register for a campsite but the process was a big pain. We were going to Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio just recently and the roller coasters were very fun ride!
Over 35 years ago I was driving on the feeder road, and something hit my fuel tank on the driver's side. It put a nice hole in the tank. My mechanic and I could not figure out what hit it. Just be thankful it did not hit you. It went through Alumina tank like butter.
No those boards along side your trailer are corner boards so the straps don’t cut into the wall board. That’s what gypsum is it’s sheet rock it’s made from gypsum
The end of the air hose gets the most wear-and-tear. The coupling is held stiffly in place but the hose flaps around so you end up with a sharp bend right below the coupling. First the hose bends one way, then it bends another way, back and forth as you drive. That's what caused it to fail there. The wire coil is actually to protect it, to spread out the area that does all the bending, but obviously it still won't last forever. Cheers!
The hole was probably just dry rot over time, jacking your trailer puts unwanted stress where hose attaches to the glad hand, an the spring like thing at the base of the glad hand is supposed to reduced the stress there.
US Gypsum makes drywall. I think you could've dropped your trailer there in the yard and driven bobtail to a shop or somewhere to get a new hose. You don't need to supply air to the trailer when you don't have one!
I got a summer travel trailer up on the lake in port clinton, good times and people up here. Also, the Sandusky bay at 12:00 is loaded with catfish they have a lengthy fishing pier that's pretty popular. Glad you're in my neck of the woods hope to see you on the road!
With ELD your 14 hr clock should pause once your off-duty for more than 2 hrs. For example 2 hrs left on your 14, two hours later of off-duty you should still have 2 hrs left
Hopefully you do get up to Maine. Apparently (according to a recent survey) the best truck stop food in the nation is at Dysart's truck stop in Hermon (just outside of Bangor, ME). The food is good and the serving sizes are generous. It is beautiful up here!
Sloan makes a quick fix that I've used to get a truck home for a buddy. Thing is still on there a year later. I always keep two of them with me. "Air Brake Hose - Rubber - Quick Fix Fittings" Part #: TWD 431402.
