Many people are saying, I'm not sure if this is still how things works, but decades ago, people told me one can just drive down to Roosevelt Ave with your window slightly open. Then random people would just throw in business cards where it has locations of where you can go that night. This was important because these apartment keeps changing locations daily. If they suspect you're police, they wont open the door. They also have look outs everywhere outside these apartments. Once in the apartment, the living room are filled with ladies you can choose. Now though, it looks like the ladies are just everywhere on the street.
In the UK it's getting much rarer seeing hookers on the street. They clean up the areas. The vice squad are plain clothes they sometimes arrest the girls, but more arrest the men. You get charged with a minor offence, but they send letters to you address as a deterrent. The girls get given asbo's and get banned from certain areas. If they get seen in the area it's a stricter offence as they're breaking their asbo. The vice squad get to know all the girls. Like Kings Cross, London was pretty notorious. Hookers and drug dealers everywhere at night. You barely see any anymore. Soho, London is a bit similar where they have girls upstairs. Soho walk ups. They just have signs saying girls upstairs, but they're not standing in the street. Prostituting is legal in the uk if it's in their home or yours. Just street prostitution is ilegal.
Over the summer, I was doing deliveries around Sunnyside, and one guy (short and fat) just standing in the corner just gave me a business card just with the phone number on it. I just threw it out, didn't want to get in trouble, and it's very shady

What's very interesting about Queens is that it is like a combination of so many different ethnicities, Queens really is like a completely separate country compared to the rest of New York and America.

I'm a moderate and just cant get myself to vote for Trump, but I agree with his immigration policies. Its the main thing I agree with him on, also crime, homelessness etc. Some places in US are turning into 3rd world countries and not in a good way. I have no issues with prostitution though, it should be everywhere, just inside and more classy.
I used to live in Queens right off of Roosevelt Ave. back in the 90s. Yeah it was dirty as usual, but there were no hookers back then. It’s unbelievable how that place has changed since then.
I grew up in Elmhurst,now live in Seattle.When I was a teen in the 90's,at night there was nothing but Tranny Hookers from 69th all the way to 80th st and Roosevelt,every night.This narrative of them just now existing is laughable.Maybe you just didn't notice the flamboyant Trannys in front of the many Gay bars that existed there in the 90's,but I'd see it every night on the way to my exes place on 83st and 37th.

Ha ha! I been saying that to all the haters saying how bad Roosevelt Ave is. Really had most fun in my life during 80/90s when could get chicks off the street damn near anytime in Manhattan. Roosevelt is tame by comparison.

This is the most amazing place I've ever seen in a big American city. It's like Tokyo or Jakarta,but the American version. Just decent folks and free enterprise at it's best. Oh wait, now I get it. If the police or mayor where concerned they would make it a red light district and legal in that area instead of allowing criminal enterprises to run rampant endangering the working women and men patrons . Correct but mostly Asians. Blacks in the area are very rare. The area is mostly Asian(Chinese, Thai, etc) and Latinos(mostly Colombians, Ecuadorians, Mexicans). A few blocks east is Little India/Bangladesh and only 1-2 blocks north off this street there's a lot of white people. It's the most diverse place in the world.
There are no black people in this area less than 1% are black/African American. If you see someone that looks black then it’s a black Latino American immigrant person

The Burough of Queens is the most culturally diverse county in the United States. This area is poor to lower middle class. See all those prostitutes? What's missing? The Johns.
