well she does say that she thinks she only would have survived another day or 2 without arthurs help. i guess when you first meet her at her husbands grave its as if she is visiting him a final time
emotep that’s my point I never went there as Arthur and met her as John and I did the interaction and then did it next Morning her and she was just dead
I think the same thing that happens when you first go to the stables to buy a horse with Hosea, horse is a special price and you automatically have enough to pay it even if you didn't before.
I did that as Arthur but i died to the wolf, but then i didn't go back to try again. When I went back as John I found her corspe in her house which had not aged.
When I did this I never saw this side quest as Arthur but when I stumbled upon her as John and she reacted as if Arthur had helped her it was confusing and it’s cool to see this was a quest and not a strange quest
Did anyone pay attention to what charlotte said about being good at finding poisonous berrys that was a hint to all of us that she poisoned her husband probibly by accident perhaps not intentionally.
I know this is a super Old Post but did you ever try going and seeing the man over by the little church that ends up doing things to Arthur after he passes out?
It's probably because she's a ghost. Arthur not showing up would not have effected when her husband died. Then she would have starved to death. So when John shows up and helps her, he lays her soul to rest.
Henry Morgan oh go cry about it,I don't have time to waste on a game addict who insists everything will be correct, now how about u go to bedtime before daddy gets mad :3
I think Charlotte invited Arthur in and not John because she was attracted to him. Just wish Arthur had a better ending, but if you play the game with high honor, at least he's a great man by the end of the game.
It’s because Arthur never encountered her so the time line of her ageing and her husband dying starts when John encounters her like all the other strangers
NPCs are not “alive“ until they are spawned by the game. So Charlotte's timeline only starts with the first visit. So if you visit as Arthur and complete all missions, her timeline continues and she ages properly. If you visit as Arthur and DON'T complete, her timeline still continues and she dies of starvation. But if you wait to visit as John, her timeline never starts so she doesn't age. Basic nature of reality stuff.
Daniel G R lopez that happened to me, I only waited. Day or two and you are suppose to wait three days, I was mad, cause I was trying to make it to where Arthur was a better man and remembered
Guessing if u have high honor she stays alive. I helped as Authur and came back as John and she was fine and even said I could take an item from her cabin.
The best example I can think of is those twin brothers in Valentine who kept doing stupid things to impress that girl. Only did like 2 missions with them before Arthur died. Came back as John and immediately picked back up where I left off.
Look I know Rockstar wanted the player’s experience as Arthur and John to be similar but for the sake of my headcanon, I choose to believe the reason John gave Charlotte the same advice on shooting on empty lungs that Arthur did is because it was actually Arthur that taught John how to shoot
It was Dutch who taught both of them.I think they just done that because giving John different dialogue would be to much work. They’re both pretty much equal in terms of knowing how to shoot a gun.
@@carterphillips9159 Yeah, I just played that mission yesterday and was wondering the same thing. Arthur looks like he's around 180-200 pounds (kept him well fed in spite of his TB) ... she looks like she's 110 and isn't exactly a powerlifter. Probably the only thing that makes sense is that Arthur gets up after the coughing fit and she helps him get to the bed, because there's no way in hell she's moving his thick ass over into the bed if he's unconscious.
Me always got into emotional that part when she says' bon apetit to Arthur, and Arthur says : Huh? Because as you the player know he is gonna die soon, but u would like to teach him to get more knowledge about the world he lives in.
Rock* allowed John to ONLY DO what he was able to replicate what Arthur did. Rock* changed NO CODE when it came to Arthur’s interaction with Charlotte as compared to John’s. So really, that’s all it is.
Once upon a time, a wealthy couple from Chicago decided to purchase a homestead and live rugged in the country. The husband was mauled to death by a wild bear, and the wife began to starve as she mourned the loss of her husband. An outlaw happened upon the homestead and taught the starving woman how to hunt and shoot. The outlaw died of tuberculosis. The end. Such a nice story : )
"You'll notice there was something missing in this scene" Oh that's right the mouse she asks you to shoot doesn't show up! "She doesn't ask John inside for a meal" Oh right..yeah.
@@Violetbunnyfish Yes, that's what the OP is saying. They're saying that they thought that the creator of the video was going to point out that the mouse from Arthur's scene is missing with John, but the creator instead said that John didn't get invited inside
I did the first mission for her as Arthur and was like "that was a pretty neat side quest, I'm sure she'll be fine" and then when I started playing as John I went to go visit her house to see how she was doing. Before I entered I saw but one thing on my map, an "x"
How did Michah never get TB from fighting with Arthur when Arthur got it so easy from that son of a bee Thomas Downes?! Woulda loved if John coulda beat Michah while he had black lungs!
Arthur got blood spat in his face during his time when he got it. What arthur should have done is spit in micahs face when they were fighting to give it to him
I read something that said he got it from Thomas Downes recovering debt. It seemed to be the only debt collection that’s really significant to the plot since most are one-and-dones, Downes’ is several parts
Totally agree doing it with Arthur makes sense and it makes the mission a bit longer so you can see more of it. When you play as John the mission is shorter and you can't go inside and loot the jewelry box.
It's interesting how Arthur and Charlotte formally introduce themselves in their final scene together but Charlotte addresses him by name in the letter after he wakes up.
Clearly not an oversight. Her story starts when the player meets her. So if arthur starts it she ages... if marston does she doesnt... and the 8 year later event wint happen well... because 8 years haven't elapsed. Were your questions in video genuine or were you just playing dumb to pad the time in the video?
He's just dumb. Many of his videos and questions in them highlight a general lack of intelligence. Thats that are obvious given a little bit of thought go right over his head. This scenario if a perfect example.
The first time i did this mission I started with Arthur but never come back. Then I went back with John to do the shooting one... and I found her dead 🙃
Found out the hard way that if you only complete her first mission as Arthur and go back to her house, she may just be dead on the floor. I assumed it was because she still couldn't use her rifle well enough: therefore she couldn't hunt well enough
So basically how it works is that canonically, her existence begins at the moment of encounter. If you find her as John, she is born years later than if Arthur finds her. However, the same series of unfortunate events that leads her husband's death occur. This really sparks up a multiverse theory.
I think It can be challenging for the writers and probably a waste of time to develop a whole different story if in case the player decides to do the side quest with John. Perhaps they could let John into her home. make some stories with her, then fade away to a skip scene where she let John loot whatever he likes, just like how Arthur was allowed to, minus the heart warming leaving a letter scene. Now unless you want John to commit infidelity with the widower, then leaving a heart warming letter to him while john is asleep, I suppose that could work. But I'm sure that is not John's nature to do so XD
My guess is the reason for her not aging is the canon changes depending on who actually helps her. If it's john then she's treated as being born at a later date than if Arthur meets her.
In fact, new dialogue lines appear with MOST characters when you start with Arthur, and later continue with Jhon. Jhon usually says that he read about them in Arthur journal and wanted to check them out if they need any help.
when I did this mission with Arthur, when creating the Rabbit, the game suffered a bug. I couldn't finish the mission because the girl was running away in fear. after returning there with John, she was dead inside the house. probably died of starvation.
The alternate timeline where she just ate him to survive until John showed up. Knowing how this game is, it wouldn't be to out of character for this game lol.
Also interesting theory that I thought of when you said a weird loophole with her aging what if we could get a red dead redemption three where the Time traveler travels back in time in Worn Arthur about Mr. Downs tuberculosis as repayment for helping him with the rock carvings***** or warn him about the black water incident Or Micah being a rat
There is a creepy man camping on a hill outside Emerald Ranch that has pictures of women and talks about Charlotte. I shot him but I wonder if he does anything to her!
I was wondering about that. I went back after hearing that but didn't check inside the cabin. Im pretty sure i helped her as Arthur on my first play through.
Im going to hogtie him then let him go so i can follow him on my next playthrough but I think I had done met her 1st time when I ran into him but I can't remember but I didn't take any chances i blasted him with shot gun!
Charlotte is a 100% metaphor of what Arthur could have had with Mary. It seems like a 2nd chance for him that rockstar cut out because it may have ruined the continuity between the two games. I honestly thought Arthur and Sadie would have been a great match too.
I can now only imagine how much more dialogue and motion capture Rob had to do as John if the player/Arthur never started who knows how many Stranger missions and threads.
I realized this when I (as John) ran into the guy collecting the stone etchings outside of Strawberry. I thought it strange to get a collectibles quest after the story was complete. Looked it up and apparently you’re supposed to run into that guy around chapter 2 lol.
I've had a great idea for the Red Dead Franchise how RED DEAD Horse Racing game (Xbox One/PS4) with all the characters from all the Red Dead games similar to Mario kart & Sonic racing but set in the Red Dead world and with horses and call the game as I said RED DEAD HORSE RACING and use guns or arrows to shoot your rivals off the race track I think that would be really cool and I'd never stop playing it (I hope rockstar sees this message)
I had this weird thing happen when I the done the third part if the stranger mission 'Oh brother' as John and during the cutscene, the brothers said his name but John never told them that.
I wouldnt say its strange that she does not age. You encounter the Sheriff as fast as you walk in to a town but you would never know of Charlotte if you didnt get to her house. Id say its just a alternative storyline for her. If you meet her as John you wouldnt know about her as Arthur so then her story starts when you want it to.
should do all the veteran missions except for the last one as Arthur and do the last one as John there is some different dialogue and they talk about him.
One time I did the first Charlotte mission then when the epilogue came I went there and found her dead on the ground in her house just being there it creeped me out
@@amosvrana6326 Well, it all doesnt make sense anyway. She should have been dead from starvation already if you missed this mission as Arthur and went there as John, because it means there was no Arthur to teach her to hunt 8 years ago... :)
Yeah, literally nothing is different. If you do the missions as Arthur and come back as John she will give you a present to say thank you for Arthur I guess
This is cool but doing it as Arthur was much better. The scenes where is TB flares up and she's trying to help him is damn emotional. The whole game he's moving closer to death and this side quest more than the other's really touched on that. Only part of the game that made me tear up worse than this was Arthur's last ride.
I started the first mission where you hunt a rabbit playing as Arthur.. But I forgot to came back and continued the main story line. And when I came back as John after the epilogue I saw her dead lying on the ground in her house.
R* must have decided John teaching an older woman how to hunt would be a bit awkward. This was actually a really cool thing to discover. Arthur clearly had a deeper relationship with Charlotte than John did. Makes sense.
Nah, it just doesn't make sense tht she stayed alive for 8 years without knowing how to shoot n hunt. 😅Thts why she still young, since her husband died when she was young, n not when they were old
It makes sense that she doesn’t age though, because I think that if she had aged it would imply that time had passed since her husband’s death. But given that she couldn’t hunt she should therefore starve. By clearly introducing some creative freedom, or “time dilation” rather, it just pushes her timeline back a few years.
You should go to the guy on the beach who has a note for Bonnie as John Edit: And if he is not there you can probably find the letters in the bag Arthur gave you
KingAres MMA the entire game is fictional. This is a world where a man named Arthur Morgan can win a fight against a regiment in a fucking army. This game is not supposed to be realistic fiction, more of a science fiction that is set in 1899/1907. In this universe, though it is not considered normal, time travel is both possible, and not very well hidden.
Modest Mind25 all of them are proper storylines, the red dead universe takes place in a fictional world. I mean, come on, whenever you play a rockstar game, you play a protagonist that can not only survive multiple bullets, but regen from them almost seconds after being shot. They aren’t trying to make everything true to a realistic world because the truth is it isn’t realistic fiction, it’s a fictional story in a fictional world.
It's not rocket science man. Either your playing dumb or you actually are. It's simple. If Arthur didnt run into her in the past itll be as if it never happened because otherwise she would have starved to death and wouldn't exist so many years later.
I remember doing this mission and when the wolves show up after you skin the rabbit I took out my gun and killed them all then she just drops the rabbit and runs off into the woods saying you're a maniac
She doesn't age because you assume she came out in 1899. If she came out in 1899 and Arthur didn't help her, she would have been dead. She even admits that to John. So, if you wait to do the mission as John, she and her husband came out to the wilderness in 1906.
Jordan Keen because the widow doesn’t survive more than three days because she wasn’t taught how to shoot a gun. you have to come back less than 3 days after the first encounter for her to survive.
