I think that the elevator went down at an angle because it couldn't accelerate the characters more than their slower falling speed, so it was pushing on you as you fell

When you make the farm you should make it as an ice rink so that the zambodie will look cool if you make a watering vehicle looking like a zambodie aswell

Build a small, one block rail (like pipe) on the back, simulating an elevator shaft.

Adding a tall exhaust pipe with a light (the dome/bulb one) will make the truck leave you enough room to not get stuck after you get upside down.

Your treehouse inspired me to make my own treehouse. I like building treehouses in Minecraft, and i had no idea why this never came to my mind. I alredy have a base, so it's gonna be all for entertainment. I have a parkour staircase to the wery top, and i cut down half of a forest to make it. Also, for clam collecting, i have a subcar gas powered, made out of bathroom blocks and the weels out of diamond plate blocks to be heawy, unbouyant, and gripping to the ground. It works fine for me!

My favorite thing to make when I manage to gather enough for it is a massive big rig loot/base transport it’s made modular and can do anything and I always either power it using pistons or controllers since it’s so massive and heavy, also just because I’m a stickler on saving fuel at all costs... dunno why

Hey kAN! I have a tip for you! Use explosives to take out the stairs in the warehouse, then carry those out of the warehouse, once their out.. BANG! Wedges for days!

Put a passenger seat or 2 on the elevator and hook it into a pair of switches on nor and xnor gates. With the correct hookup you can set your elevator up so that when one switch is tagged it calls, you pop in the seat and press the button and it just goes. With nor and xnor gates you can set up the switches to function almost more like buttons, and can call from top or bottom.

Credit where credit is due, it's actually a pretty aesthetic brick.

Respecc the bricc

kan, just have a sensor on the elevator that can sense the platform and just add a little lip of wood at the ground level and you can have it auto open the door when the elevator starts to move, also adding cactus to the front of the car will help grip the bots so they dont go under the car as much

I switched my vertical logtruck to 1 collector. you should do the same, the extra capacity doesn't matter because you work with the bobcat then you can mount it in the middle btween the wheels near the ground, and put a seat on top

I find it interesting that people see the scrap from the hay bots as their arms or legs. I think it is their spin, and their legs, arms and head explode off it. Awesome Vehicle :)

There's a game rule you can change in the files that lets you loot the warehouses. I play with lootable warehouses but wait to start looting until I've fought through to the switch area so it doesn't just feel like cheating.

I grew up with a few hockey friends and players. That thing looks like a Zamboni for me. Right from the get go I was thinking Zamboni.

The space under the bed could have a chest for just general items or something else. The elevator is good but the door could be on sensors where it detects the wood at the time so it opens and another detects the ground but if the don't then it closes.

Just put sensors and a bar that would go out and un-flip it, it would stop it from going upside down aswell

with the escape pods, what i think is happening is the character lifts up hits the celling and is pushed away then hits the floor which pushes up and this repeats. now because you hit the floor the fall damage is calc then, so when the box reaches the floor and hits the fall damage calc's works from the last time you hit the floor or left the floor. or something like this...

I think the elevator is bending due to the slow falling of the characters. The pistons are pushing faster than a character falling, so you would expect the pistons to just be releasing tension when going down due to gravity helping, but when the pistons are extended the pistons are pushing against the max speed at which the player model can fall. This means the pistons are applying force downwards and not being able to push the player any faster. So you could slow the elevator slightly with one low level motor controller firing in a one stage offset.

Kan its because the two objects fall at different rates and the wood box kept colliding with the person in the box causing it to temporarily stop falling then start falling then stop then start over and over till it hit the ground. Its definitely an amazing glitch, not sure how you can exploit it to an advantage in a given situation but still a very cool glitch. You definitely can make a box on a roof to step into and with a small hole delete a block to drop you to the ground with out taking damage.

Sometimes? Hmmm, an interesting definition of sometimes. :D But as there is neither air nor water drag, I think a brick doesn't differ from any other design. There are no dangers of incoming debris neither, as it would in space, so I would say, in a world pieces use up a rectangular space with none of the problems mentioned before, I think a brick is the most efficient design.

Theory on the slow fall glitch, and just think about this one. I think there's an endless loop of colliding recalculations going on. What ends up happening is the creation falls so fast and hit kosmo. That means that kosmo falls slightly faster and the box has to recalculate "bouncing" off of kosmo, but then he hits the bottom of the box and then he has to have his speed recalculated. Why do I call it recalculating? It's kinda like if you fall off of a cliff, if you're able to hug the wall enough the game sometimes interprets your falling distance as from the point you last touched the ground. I think this is happening so fast because there's so little room available that it's janking the physics engine into slowing down the box because there's so many collisions happening. I think if you had locked him in with that extra 1 block lower, he would have had enough constant contact that the game would have considered kosmo and the box as 1 entity and their collisions to be the same. But this is just my theory based on what I'm seeing. It also explains why you're not getting knocked out. The other elevator had now "upwards rebound" that this new one has (you hitting your head on the ceiling. So your weight would end up jerking pistons. Meaning the pistons would strain and stretch, catch up, launch you, and send the lower platform after you at a faster rate than normal, which gives the game the opportunity to interpret your character meeting the ground at a certain speed as "falling so fast". So the more and intense the bouncing, the greater chance you had of being knocked out. This elevator equalizes it out because you're bouncing up and hitting the ceiling which "accelerates" the elevator upwards equalizing the rate in which the pistons are retracting. In otherwords, your bouncing up and down levels the elevator's climb speed. Meaning the reason it's going off at an angle when descending is because you're falling slower than the pistons are pushing and we all know what happens when extended pistons meet too much resistance.

fwiw, I think elevators run smoother if you run the pistons in sequence rather than all in parallel. (And sequence them with timers or a controller)

Look at the floating house glitch by the dart frog. That is a life hack right there.

should build ejecting seats that have a tether to them to launch your self from your base or vehicle as far as you can for quick traver land or lake lol then hit a button to retract the tether and reel the capsule back to the launch point, if that is all possible I feel it could be fun

make the insides accesable because its hollow and add seats in there, that would be cool.

Hey kAN, I ahve an Idea for the zamboni. So underneath where the bed is, there is just a ton of space, you could make a liettle area with a door that has like a cook bot, a wardrobe nad stuff so you can you out on like adventures and then either keep the bed on top and put like a seat there and put the bed below, or keep it on top. It would also serve as an area to check on the refinerys

Kan, take note of where you are standing in the elevator. The elevator was bending in the direction of where your character was standing. The reason why the pistons were bending is because the character falls slower than the pistons are extending. I'll bet the elevator doesn't bend when both you and Kosmo are sitting in the toilets. I didn't see if it didn't bend because you got out of the seat immediately and then deleted it when you went down the first time. When you are in the seat you'll go the same speed that objects fall.

If Scrap Mechanic adds aerodynamics, it might be the end of kAN's brick builds forever. But until then, the dastardly brick vehicles will live on.

i have one recommendation on how to kill farm bots with it: use a scissor mechanism for crushing or use drills/saw-blades. or a combination of both.

They don’t know what the crafting recipe would be. I think it would just be you can craft 10 wedges for 5 normal wood

Kan make a really good flyer vehicle next co-op episode, but make it a giant red flying brick

Scrap mechanic should make the cutting tool meant for rounding out blocks into wedges and ramps

The 45* corners had REALLY bad problems with farmbots and their AI + collisions, so they were disabled and haven’t been enabled since then. And when I’m saying bad, it’s extremely bad. They couldn’t path around them, they couldn’t attack them without it bugging oddly, they had issues climbing up without their pathfinding dying, it caused weirdness with hitboxes (as in, they would clip randomly, this was fixed with the round corners by making them fully solid for farmbot hitboxes), among other issues.

Can you build sth like a hyper tube with pistons? So if this exploit works you could use pistons to accelerate the container with pistons. You could add a mechanism (Suspension + Angle Beam) to catch the container at the top. to go down you just release the catch mechanism and let the container falling down again. I wonder if this would work but would be cool to see
