He's going to use it to power production of his dyson sphere.

I was thinking some kind of goal that requires all the story traits to be completed. Talked about it on the Klei discord I think. It wasn't just "complete all the story traits" though, it was new functions that required both lots of resource production and things only the story traits could provide, and was involved with setting up dupes to evolve into full humans and have the knowledge to recover eventually.

@@bengoodwin2141 Interesting as, aside from checking them out right at the start, I don't usually use many of the story traits, so it could be interesting to have to use them - especially if they were all on different planets! I've got the beginnings of a design doc for a high tek DLC, all of which is dependent on producing vast amounts of energy, but can let you build new dupe and material teleporters to other planets. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I think the end game needs more stuff to build, more power curves.

I think originally they expected us to brute force cool stuff so it would be really power intensive. But once we figured out how to implement counter flow heat exchangers it made all the stuff that should have been power intensive much cheaper.

@@FrancisJohnYT That makes sense, but then they somehow expected us to get by without any of those expensive things like automatic filters, which is crazy. The game is hard enough as it is.

Ohh I don't know, I want to but it's not really popular with viewers. I'll put up a poll when it's time to pick a new game and see how popular it looks.

By the time the power brick was being designed the sour gas boiler was operating at 100% no need to preheat the plastic, did not want to go back and redesign the whole thing into a different square... again :) Also it can get hot enough to melt plastic in the power brick, only a small amount of cooling water is put back in.

Oh lots of recreation buildings, they take up tons of power. Also got to get my hands on liquid hydrogen to finish out the rocket program.

@@FrancisJohnYT Well, the excess water from those 17 natural gas generators should be able to provide enough for like one electrolyzer? Every little bit counts, right? :) Oh, and sorry again about all the emails.

I was tempted but I was worried that we could not get enough heat exchange, what would happen if the plastic stopped but we still had lots of nat gas being burned off. Figured it was less worry to just chuck an aquatuner on it.

Off the top of my head boiling crude oil is usually done via Geothermal magma, volcanic magma or Therimum aquatuner. You can boil oil with some of the hotter metal volcanoes but it's really really painful and throughput is usually limited.

The Steam turbine is down lower than most of the roof so the polluted oxygen ends up out of the way of the turbine. It on the same level as all the Transformers. I will pull a transformer out and put in a gas pump to remove the polluted oxygen. Since the pressure in there now is above 2kg of steam and will never go lower than that no more off gassing should occur.

I don't think so. There are 17 generators outputting 67.5 g/s of polluted water each. Polluted water converts into 99% steam, 1% dirt. So you get 67.5 g/s * 17 * 0.99 * 1kg / 1000g = 1.14 kg/s of steam. A steam turbine can remove 2 kg/s of steam, so it is enough.
