On one of the last hot days of the 2024 summer we made a snap decision it was too hot to work outside so we decided to go on a short adventure to Yakima. Back story is that we recently purchased a freeze dryer and are in the process of experimenting on the types of food we want to store. Mark has a family friend from Yakima that owns orchards, mostly apples but a few other fruit varieties also. He made a call and they graciously said to come on over a pick what we want. SCORE!!! We loaded up the truck in record time and was on the road in less than an hour.
We picked some awesome fruit at Mortimer Farms, Thank you very much!!! The highlight of the trip was parking our truck at their riverside cabin for the night and exploring the back roads on our way home the next day.
