In this 19-minute monologue, we go on a journey exploring which movie star has the most pedestrian name, helping James figure out how to actually be friends with Chris Pratt, wishing our cameraman Joel a happy birthday and meeting Guillermo's backup drummer in case his wife goes into labor during the show. And eventually we cover some headlines, which leads to James learning about what a homecoming dance.

Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. Since Corden took the reigns as host in March 2015, he has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as Carpool Karaoke."

The fact is - James open dialogue & rapport w the band exceeds all other Host/Band rapport on any late night show. He and Reggie's and The Band 's banter is not only the closest thing to Letterman & Paul - It is, in fact, more welcoming, warm, refreshing and hilarious

I kinda really like how this show is being more and more open about how unimportant headlines are for itself. By the time it airs, any jokes they come up with will almost certainly have already been made by like 6 other shows. And audiences have probably already heard at least 2 of them. So the only way to breakout is to just skip it and go for comedy based on something other than what's in the news.

@@Ewr42 yes very much a genius. Amber and Corden both like variety, like revue and cabaret. Pretty sure she picked up some Dutch cabaret while living in our beautiful city of Amsterdam. @thewildbunchASD
@thewildbunchASD 3 года назад
@@CrymsonNite tv needs this too. Always has needed it. People love it. Its great to mix politics with humour but the jokes got soooo old and the monologues turned into brainwashes. Its great to have John Oliver, James corden and Amber ruffin living next to eachother but the networks really know how to kill late night by trying to be like the other. So to me, this is television as i saw here in Holland before the talkshow wars, and as i seen on youtube with Johnny Carson, Don Rickles, Sinatra, johnny carson's bandleader and yes even Milton Berle and the heckler. etc etc. And ofcourse the muppets. Only James and Amber will be abled to mix in Cabaret and in that way Amber is unique because she gets is as an American, who completely forgot that artform after Steve Martin. eventhough she is putting her point forward. This show has come full circle now. People that are watching ever since Craig Ferguson run of Late Late Show - will remember how show was at it's best at the times when no one cared for the seriousness and it would be just random talks :) As James came in he turned it around with all the Sketch comedy and prepared bits. Now with quarantine in effect - all the randomness and awkwardness (remember "awkward pause"?) this show in James's words "All we're doing is making people at home feel better about their lives " at it's best!

Really hope they keep this format going post-quarantine, they're self-aware, have great banter and James Corden really is at his funniest when he's ribbing and joking around with people he knows. This was amazing! Love it so much. Please, don't change the format, even after quarantine is over. This is Golden!

It's just the chemistry, even the more antagonistic chemistry just makes these monologues better than everyone else's right now. I don't care if it's set up or staged I just care about the funny and The Late Late Show delivers. Most of the time

Especially with the drinks opening, this is an extra "hanging out with the lads"-esqe monologue. I love it.
