For some reason, this album makes me think of the madness combat universe from a grunts perspective. It's a series of halls and industrial complexes, which serve no real function. You're just standing guard over nothing, until something inevitably goes wrong. You just watch and wait for whatever comes next because that's all you know how to do
This is really something else. SiN albums, as the name suggests, have songs that happen where all the action takes place. Although dark and insane in their own way, they contain that liveliness factor, reminding you that although stuff is messed up, you still have something grounded in reality, familiar, relatable. SuN, however, drags you down into the depths unknown, stripping you of all the comfort you once had. The key word being 'UNDER', songs are filled with oppressive atmosphere, isolation and hopelessness. You've found yourself in unfamiliar and unreal territories, and the album perfectly encapsulates that feeling.
It makes me think like that album is about some people who are already dead, in hell, stuck in an eternal darkness, and their only connection with the outer world is sound
The Other Place is adequately creepy. In Nevada, we at least knew that the world ran on some kind of computer simulation logic. With The Other Place, we can't even figure out what the occult side of it is doing, just that there is something sinister underneath even the meta logic at play. Not even Project Nexus can explain what The Machine or The Other Place is clearly.
it`s absolutely dissapointing that Spotify is locked in my country, i would listen to this madness music over, and over, and over, and over, and OVER!!Thank you all:Cheshyre, RyuuAkito, SentryTurbo, CRY.NN, Ristik, Lothyde, NAVOJ and Kontrakt for all your masterpieces that deserve to be heard everywhere in the world!
hello again Cheshyre im the guy who commented "FINNNNNNNALY" and you responded i was originally going to stop making content but i figured i would take a 2nd chance
friday night funkin gave it the push it needed to complete madness project nexus(not the flash one) madness project nexus(not the flash one) gave the series more popularity and more newcomers and now we wait for madness combat 12
In 8 hours, I will return In 8 hours, I will enjoy this In 8 hours, I will edit this comment In 8 hours, I will like this video In 8 hours, The madness truly begins In 9 hour's I watched this. In 9 hour's I enjoyed this In 15 hours I edited this And the Madness has finally ended
I am truly happy that i had my notifications on and caught this as it was streamed. I haven't had an experience like that since the last live show i saw before covid. Thank you for going so ridiculously hard on this album. I've been watching these animations and listening to these songs for 20 YEARS and that's a crazy thought, crazier still is that i feel EXACTLY the same about all of this as i did when i was just a little tater tot using vpns in the techlab at school to post on newgrounds and watch stuff like madness. It's been a great ride any time i come back into the fold and i just want all the people who worked on this to know they mean a lot to a lot of people, even if we never meet and we aren't a very vocal fanbase. PS when are you doing a live show? 🤟🤡🤟
What even is the art cover from the album? i feel like is looking from up and down at the same time at... ¿the barrier?. Amazing music as always from the madness comunity!
After hearing the prologue intercom,I feel like I have a theory:A rift leading to the Other Place has opened near Nexus city and all kinds of horrors are leaking from it,shattering the already greatly damaged reality of Nevada...
Considering that Expurgation's intro talks about an "infection" in reality, and the end of Dedmos Rebuilt implying that Hell itself is beginning to invade conventional reality...I have a bad feeling that this might be prophetic for what happens in subsequent Madness animations. Reality was suspended in the third installment and compromised back in the fifth installment. Now, after who knows how many bouts of Improbability and attempted Normality Restorations...it's going into its *death throes.*
Whole album is great but Third Person Planet... oooooooh, bby, that one really transported me to Nevada and beyond, absolutely excellent ending I cannot even describe how much I love, love, LOVE the Madness community. I really find it to be almost an insult to the series when I first watched Madness Combat 1 and thought that it was "just a fight animation"; there's so much wonderful art, fight choreography, cinematography, and (of course) music which all combines together to create this GORGEOUS universe that I love so much I love you Cheshyre and everyone else who worked on this and the other albums!
Those who stare too long into the void, will see it stare back. So what of those who try and reach for it? Oh, I fear a far more terrible fate awaits...
Luckily, i was also in the premiere of this one few months ago! While i know that this album isn't canon to SiN, i like to think of it as some sort of spin-off, so couldn't pass the chance for enjoying it again. Compared to the more aggressive and very energetic SiN I and II, Somewhere under Nevada goes for a more sinester, mysterious and "dark" approach, as you can see by how many songs are far more ambient compared to the previously metioned albums. Personally, i REALLY enjoy this style of music and it's very nice considering that there isn't a lot of Ambient music themed for Madness Combat (though i understand why, this franchise is very frantic and there's not a lot of moments when grunts ain't ripping each others heads). Hope there's more music like this coming up the future, it's very nice and i really enjoy it. Now the last entry of the series, Somewhere in Nevada III, awaits for me...
At the time of making this comment i’m 10 minutes in, and it’s making me feel as if the closer and longer i listen to this the more resonant it seems, the prologue text was correct in saying listen to understand the language of the depths. Despite my appeal for action action action, I’m all for it and this creepy resonance that the whole album has, like a dark underworld city that you’ve gotten lost in.
Great job and thanks for making the games and animations even more epic and exciting. Now in my music class I am making an electronic song in which I am inspired by you, thanks for everything.
Awesome stuff, I was here for the Premiere, and I know for certain I will be coming back to this! Thank you so much Chesh, CRY.NN, Kontrakt, NAVOJ, Lothyde, vlowoid and Ryuu for this amazing album, you guys are awesome and will always be awesome for making a piece of Madness History!
I am shoving the vibes here into my soulhole as we speak. How does it feel to be the daddy of the most terrifingly based musical genre in the universe?????
This shit gets more surreal horror oriented at every update. And although im here for it, im somehow even *more* confused as to what in sam fuck is happening
In Madness Combat we have two worlds; Nevada and the Other Place. As we have seen with 9.5 pt 2, every incarnation of someone dying is in the Other Place. Every iteration of Hank, Trickey, so forth, are all in the Other Place. In Dedmos’ Adventure, 2BDamned successfully recovers Deimos, but Deimos exited in a manner that let a connection between the two world exist after he was pulled out. This means unless the connection can be closed, *everything* in the Other Place has a means of getting where they desperately have been wanting to go. Somewhere in Nevada
Third Person Planet is my favorite one. We finally have Madness breakcore. The other tracks were great too. I'm gonna be listening to these while drawing. Clap clap clap, such amazing work by everyone, hats off to you all. We've gotten so far, happy birthday Madness.
This is sooooooo good, and I've only heard the first few Tracks. It contains different vibes than the usual hard electro style, but I like it. Damn I am excited to listen to whole Video, it just catapults me right into the madness combat universe with all the excessive violence that we all know and love! Gotta play project nexus again
These projects are too stressful, too much work on these guys. Theyve been doing this for more than 5 years. They dont need to make another somewhere in nevada project of composing songs. These guys have immortalised their efforts, their names and what theyve done on the internet. Let them rest now. And Let another Legend rise and take the mantle that these guys have made a legacy on. Oh and lets hope no scummy corporation sabotage or aquire Madness. It has always belonged to its creator, who made it for us. :)
The feel that I get from most of these tracks is like having a methodical and slow dream, but the tempo of my own body, like my heartbeat and its stressors go at the speed of light. Like when your in a swirling tidepool pushing you onward into the unknown, with you and only you with the fear of what will become of you. Just some thoughts, Ive only had that type of dream twice before! Amazing work from everyone that helped create this album, you all did awesome :D
