Among other things, Rhapsody is one of Dan's favorite bands. The old line Rhapsody is just a musical triumph. Not much done in the last 80 years can touch it. They're more known for super fast power metal and big orchestral extravaganzas, but when they do a ballad, something like this comes out. Very highly recommended.
This song is about overcoming depression. Dan had his own battle with depression years ago. Someone asked him about the tears and his response was, Not all tears are of sadness, but rather the struggle that leads to the light.
Thank you Brent for playing this song. (Do you prefer Pastor Brent or Brent?) I’ve never seen a performer with more heart and passion than Dan Vasc. Such a beautiful voice. Such a beautiful person. Such a beautiful soul. ✨D🗡️V✨
I have no idea how many times ive seen this cover. I sometimes swipe past it because its often painful to watch and hear. I truly have no words to express how impressive Dan is. Eople talk about talent; there is more here than that. The dedication and passion he puts into everything separate him from most vocalists. He is truly in a league of his own
I did. I have two different RU-vid accounts, I had subscribed on the RU-vid app thinking that it was this one but it was under my other account. And then I realized I wasn’t subscribed on this one during one of my videos, so right after that video I made sure to be subscribed. I don’t like reacting to things that I’m not actually subscribed to. It almost kind of feels like using the bathroom at a business without buying something. Just doesn’t sit right with me. So I’m double subbed :) lol
This shows the versatility of Dan's vocals as well as the one of Rhapsody's music. It's simply touching and so well interpreted by everyone involved. ❤
Son of Pain, and, Sleeping Sun were the first Dan songs i fell in love with that led me down into the Vasc Warren ... such beautiful and emotional performances! I See Fire, from Lord of the Rings - Desolation of Smaug, is another very emotional song. Rains of Castamere, from Game of Thrones, is another ... but from a darker, more calculating emotion like Burn Butcher Burn from the Witcher. 😮
Just wanted to add another comment. Besides his amazing voice, Dan Vasc is the epitome of masculinity in my opinion…. and not being afraid to show pure, raw emotions doesn’t take away from that even a little bit. Real men aren’t afraid to cry.
Dan is a beautiful man with a beautiful voice. I am always fascinated. ❤️🤘. Recommendation: Heaven Is a Place on Earth - Metal cover by Belinda Carlisle.
That was something else, wasn't it? Incredible performance by a very special human being. Loved your reaction. The tears he sheds in American Trilogy over the loss of his father only 5 days prior is heartbreaking, but he still manages to sing the song beautifully. It is one you must react to. Thanks so much.
Dan is something else! He’s got some incredible talent. 🙏 I know you’ve probably seen the reaction to An American Trilogy since you commented, I’m just catching up on comments. :)
This song pulls you in like bees to the honeycomb! I so love the dramatic builds and the kettle drum rumbling like thunder to add to the powerful crescendos. 💥⚡️The musicality on this is brilliant!!! This song is exquisitely done! I loved your facial reactions to this masterpiece! I so enjoy your Dan Vasc reaction videos, brother!!!! Love and blessings to you!!! 👏🏼🔥🔥❤️🇧🇷🤗
Dan went through a couple of years of very deep depression. By the grace of God and his music he was able to pull himself out of it. Such a beautiful human being with so much soul.
He embodies the essence of the song and brings you in, brilliant. Another song featuring Jacob Ka (keyboards) and Dan's lifelong friend, Gabriel Belozi (guitars) is a Roy Kahn cover, For All. It is my evening prayer. Thank you for adding musical/instrumental tidbits to your reaction. I was a musician in my younger years and enjoy the refresher.
This performance is really on another level! The singing and the emotion in this song is insane! Dan did suffer from depression around 10/11 years ago , so thats why he feels this song so deeply !
I agree with others in requesting the "American Trilogy" cover by Dan, also "Love me Tender", both are covers of Elvis Presley, both emotional performances by Dan. American Trilogy is the one Dan recorded shortly after his fathers death and the emotion is apparent in his delivery as the song was one of his Father's favorite Elvis songs. Thanks
So very beautiful. Jacob Ka, the pianist, also plays on For All, a lovely religious song, and also on a cover of Courage. Beautiful playing in all three, along with three very different but very terrific vocal performances by Dan. Thanks for the reaction!
71 yr old Grandma of 2 here❤️⚘️ Dan was so close to with his Father , they both used to sing together on car rides and such. His Father was Italian so Bocelli was one of their favorites to sing along with. Nessum Dorma was another. His father gave him the harmonica he plays in Amazing Grace when he was 7. Dan would sing when he a little boy. He took singing lessons , later taught singing lessons as a job. He was in the military later. If you have seen his Elvis American Trilogy cover you know he dedicated that to his Father only 5 days after he passed with cancer. Dan is a blessed and talented Man❣️🙏 Thankyou for your reactions. ❤️⚘️
Thank you for your response to this special song by Dan. For Dan, his music is also a way of processing his experiences. The fight against depression in general is very important to him.
