Welcome back Goblins! And a Big Balcony Bopper welcome to the lovely SONA MOVSESIAN. (Rick’s still struggling to pronounce her surname) She’s not only Conan’s O’Briens right-hand woman, but also Co-Host of the podcast Conan Needs a Friend.
Rick and Sona met when the Late Night Show and Undateable were on adjacent stages on the Warner Brother's lot years ago, and have remained firm friends.
They discuss Rick getting less annoying, Sona Being A national Speech Champion, and how to navigate disagreements. We hear about the whole “I was kicked off a basketball team” saga in detail and manage to get Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip to chime in with some words of wisdom!
Rick also recounts ALL his school crushes and the epic fails of teenage love while Sona accidentally digs up a childhood rift she thought she’d buried.

Can i just say I work in the ER 48 hours a week and im laying on my couch with a back injury and was in immense pain trying to find something to take my mind off of it and thank god your podcast exists. I was laughing my ass off....Thank you.

I'll be honest, Rick: I didn't know you (still don't, really) and I clicked to this video because of the lovely Sona. I watched and liked this podcast/video a lot and I'm presently surprised that it's well worth watching it entirely! I'm also glad that I can find myself in most of your viewpoints, so I'll probably watch more of you :) Looking forward to see more of this, or at least the next conversation with Sona and Conan. There's a lot of crap out there with shallow talks, but I agree with you that actual conversations like this are the absolute best. "Social" media and our busy lives make us spend less actual social time with people in real life, which imo is a shame. Keep this up. It's awesome!

I love Sona, and Rick, and their dynamic. That out of the way, Rick I absolutely love this podcast and the long form discussions into perspective and childhood. I have never seen someone with so many conscious and uncanny similarities to how I experience the world. And yet such a seemingly different cause and upbringing. I have always blamed my neurosis and anxiety and panic attacks on my early childhood relationship with my mother, who let me know (in the midst of what I now believe were autistic freak outs from the age of 5ish-10ish) that no one with ever accept me as I am, and that I would be a bad husband etc. seeing how amazingly supportive and unconditional your mother was, and yet how uncannily similar we experience the world around us, has sincerely led to a really impactful revelation for me. And you are fucking hilarious man. When I get friends I’m telling everybody about this podcast.

Yo, uhh... hi Rick! I had this in my recommendations; probably from watching Conan videos. Like, a lot of them. Anyway, had not heard of you or your podcast before, but I was hooked on this episode pretty much instantly. Cold open? There's clips? Great audio? Yes, please. Sona helped too, of course. Rick, I'm not doubting your skills as an elite baller and all round athlete, but you being kicked off a team isn't analogous to a hate crime. It's close, granted. Thanks for another great episode, it's always surprising who you manage to land as a guest, particularly given they aren't just doing the rounds for promos like on other pods. It's nice that you called Sona comedically trained, I've always found her really funny and it must be odd to be an off screen person who also happens to play the straight man in a very good comedic duo.
