Piyush Ranjan, the founder of Management Masters, interviews Sonali Borase, an admit to the ISB PGP class of 2023.

Indian School of Business (ISB) is one of the best Business schools in India, consistently ranking among the Top MBA programs worldwide. The PGP program at ISB brings together a cohort of ~900 candidates each year, with an average work experience of 4-5 years.
Sonali completed her undergraduate degree in Mumbai, while completing her Chartered Accountancy alongside. She then worked at L&T Infotech in a Financial Planning & Analysis role before deciding to apply for MBA programs. Coming from a CA background, she wanted to push herself out of her comfort zone and simultaneously learn about other aspects involved in the business world apart from finance.
As we worked together, we helped her identify her story better, which allowed her to bring out her authentic self in the applications. Despite a GMAT score lower than the average at ISB, we pushed her to focus on what she brought to the table and utilize her strengths.
Introspecting her motivations for the MBA, Sonali was able to present a strong candidature in front of the ISB admissions committee, which eventually resulted in her receiving an admit from the school.
