I picked this up for the big boat, but never got time to install it. So installed it on the Highfield to give it a try. Has water temperature, depth sonar and fish finder. Plus uploads the sonar information to Garmin's Active Captain. Also works stand alone on your smart phone or tablet both Apple iOS and Android

Hello. Can you confirm if this still works with Navionics? Apparently Garmin dropped the split screen support.

I've sold the Highfield it was installed on a few weeks back. I do know I couldn't make it connect to Navonics early this spring. It was on a new device so I just figured it was user error. Maybe now it wasn't... I hadn't read that Garmin was dropping split screen support. Sounds like a foolish move by Garmin. But they did remove all the pre-planning function of the Web Interface, which was very foolish.

I'm really happy with it, think I'm going to get a second one for the big boat and leave this one on my Highfield. Thanks for watching the video 😎

I’m thinking on my 20ft sailboat too. Any thoughts with your experience with the sonar phone for my application?

@@XOMarius i have hooked it up and tried out the software... Seems fine... Unfortunately cant say anymore that that as my boat hasn't been in the water for the past year (Wife had health problems)... But stay tuned as that is all sorted now and will have "Oriel" back in the water in a month or 2....

Thank you for posting this - was just thinking about an aftermarket sonar for my iPad / Navionics nav package on the sailboat. there are aso a windex out there, we getting close to getting full nav packages that can run without factory installed gear. *wish it was BT instead of WiFi, so the tablet could be bound to the house WiFi, but maybe sonarphone can run on a Wifi hub.

Bluetooth would be so much better.. Several AIS units will work with Navonics on a tablet. But those are all wifi as well. A hub would be handy, if it would work.

@@AdventuresonTour yeah aware of the AIS, have the digital yacht, which also is WiFi based, and have the Furono (spelling) first-watch radar... which also is WiFi LOL. it is possible to hook that one up via WiFi, but the AIS want to be the hub, the manufactures all have a next-gen package on their hands but need to realize they are not the only device on a boat, and none of those are data-intentisive enough that they require a highspeed WiFi connection. everythig could live comfortably on modern BT.
